Method and device for introducing solid fuels into pressurized combustion or gasification chambers. Pressure gasification, which has recently become very important in the utilization of fuels, confronts the technician with the task of introducing the fuel into the gasification chamber with as little gas loss as possible.
Likewise, the combustion of fuels under pressure to generate gases, which in rotary engines, e.g. B. gas turbines, are exploited, u. a. associated with the same difficulties.
Up to now one has achieved the introduction of the fuel with locks. The fuel is fed into a pressure chamber which is connected at its lower part to the combustion or gasification chamber through an opening closed by a slide and which is connected to a fuel storage container at the upper part through an opening that is hermetically sealed by another slide. After the fuel has been introduced into the pressure chamber, it is shut off from the outside air and the lower slide is opened, whereby the fuel falls into the combustion or gasification chamber.
The introduction chamber comes under pressure, but this is associated with a loss of gag in the subsequent relaxation.
The infiltration carried out in this way is therefore quite complicated and can hardly be regulated automatically, but has to be done manually.
The present invention seeks to remedy the drawbacks associated with the above-described infiltration process.
The invention relates to a. A method for introducing solid fuels into pressurized combustion or gasification chambers and consists in that the fuel is introduced into the combustion or gasification chamber by means of a pressing element in order to ensure the gas-tight closure of the chamber to the outside as a compressed mass itself. The pressing element is intended to save mechanical closing elements, such as intermittently operating locks.
The fuel is preferably driven in the area of the pressing member or behind it in an orifice extension by a conical, i.e. tapering towards the combustion or gasification chamber, in order to achieve the consistency required to achieve a gas-tight seal .
The resulting fuel plug should act as a shut-off valve or as a labyrinth seal, thus ensuring a safe and Ensure practically sufficient sealing of the combustion or gasification chamber against the outside air.
In order to increase the sealing capacity, more finely chopped substances can be added to the coarsely chopped fuel, namely fuels or non-fuels.
The introduction of the fuel is conveniently carried out continuously, for. B. by a screw or a piston, and can therefore easily be automatically controlled by influencing the drive of the pressing member in order to adapt it to consumption.
The pressure to be exerted on the fuel for sealing and, if applicable, the shape, in particular the length and tapering of the fuel mouth, are to be selected as a function of the nature of the fuel, in addition to the pressure in the combustion or gasification chamber.
The invention also relates to a device for carrying out this process, with an inlet member for the fuel arranged on a pressure combustion or pressure gasification chamber, which is characterized in that the guide member is designed as a press member through which the fuel is introduced into the chamber under pressure becomes.
With this device, gru benfeuchte coal with a high water content, provided that this does not disadvantage the gasification or combustion act, can be used.
