<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
als Seitenbänder von 2fg elektromotorische Kräfte der Frequenz 3 fg - (2 fg - n) = n und 2fg + (2fg - n )
= 4fg - n erzeugt.
Die Frequenz f sei beispielsweise a.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Feedback circuit with at least one magnetically overdriven iron choke. It is known that magnetically overdriven iron chokes are used to advantage to generate many times a fundamental frequency. If a sinusoidal alternating current of sufficient strength is sent through the iron choke coil in such a way that a strong magnetic oversaturation of the choke occurs in the cycle of the alternating current, an electromotive force in the coil in the form of a voltage peak with alternating positive and negative sign arises in the coil with every zero crossing of the magnetizing current .
The harmonic analysis of the alternating voltage shows that the voltage curve obtained in this way only contains uneven multiples of the fundamental frequency in addition to the fundamental frequency.
It is also known that when another frequency is superimposed on the basic frequency current, in addition to the odd multiples of the basic frequency, the side frequencies of the even multiples of the basic frequency also occur. The magnetically overdriven iron choke thus acts as a so-called harmonic modulator if, in addition to the magnetizing current of the fundamental frequency, a current of a modulating frequency is also fed to the iron choke.
If a harmonic modulator is loaded by the external resistance in the frequency ranges of the sidebands, sideband currents arise, which recently modulate in the choke, that is to say in turn cause new side frequencies of the even harmonics of the fundamental frequency.
For example, if a harmonic modulator with the fundamental frequency f is fed a modulation frequency n, u. a. electromotive forces of the sidebands 2f, n. If the modulator, for example for the frequency (2 f g-n), is loaded with an impedance Ra, a current of the frequency (2fg-n) arises, which is now additionally magnetized and thereby
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
as sidebands of 2fg electromotive forces of frequency 3 fg - (2 fg - n) = n and 2fg + (2fg - n)
= 4fg - n generated. So it arises u. a. an additional EMF of the modulation frequency n, which acts as a feedback. The additional EMF is in phase with the current of the modulation frequency when the current of the sideband frequency, (2fg-n) is in phase with the EMF, i.e. when the load (Ri + Ra) of the generator is at the frequency ( 2fg - n) is real (Ri is the operational inductive internal resistance of the modulation choke). and a real feedback is obtained, i.e. an additional current of the modulation frequency generated by the additional EMF, which is in phase with the original current, even if the load (Ra + Ri) is real for the modulation frequency.
However, the feedback is also real if, with complex loading, the phase shift between additional current and additional EMF is made equal to the opposite of the phase shift between sideband current and sideband EMF.
The invention is based on the knowledge that one only needs to make the feedback real and at the same time sufficiently firm in order to greatly de-attenuate the switching rim arrangement or to make it self-excited. In the case of a feedback circuit with at least one magnetically overdriven iron choke, the invention therefore provides that the iron choke is loaded with an impedance which, at two frequencies, the combination frequencies of which are at least partially an even multiple of the magnetizing fundamental frequency, shows such a dimensioning that a real Feedback measure of a size results that at least almost leads to self-excitation.
The iron choke can be overridden by a magnetic sinusoidal alternating field or by an applied sinusoidal voltage. When using a magnetic sinusoidal alternating field, it is preferable to use series resonant circuits connected in parallel as a load, which are matched to the frequencies mentioned. When applying a sinusoidal voltage, on the other hand, it is advisable to use parallel resonant circuits in series as a load. A real feedback measure, which at least almost leads to self-excitation, can always be achieved by appropriately dimensioning the impedance.
Depending on whether a magnetic sinusoidal alternating field is used or a sinusoidal voltage is applied, the impedance at these frequencies is expediently given zeros or infinity points, real minima or real maxima. The two frequencies for which the impedance should show such a rating can coincide. In the following, exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained with reference to FIGS. 1-4. In FIG. 1, the frequency diagram of the processes is shown in an arrangement according to FIG. The Wee hselstromquelle S drives a sinusoidal current via the oscillating circuit LC through the iron choke Dr, the magnetization curve of which is thereby controlled into the saturation areas.
This creates a voltage with a strongly distorted curve shape at the choke, which in addition to the basic frequency fg also contains the odd-numbered multiples 3fg, 5fg, etc. If, in addition, a second alternating current of frequency f is sent through the choke Dr from the current source S 'via a series resistor Rv., As indicated by dashed lines, the side frequencies of the even-numbered multiples 2fR, 4f, arise. usive. The frequency f is, for example, a. The side frequencies b, e and d are created,
e etc. If the frequency f = b were chosen, the reverse frequency a would arise. When the choke is unloaded, the WIK of the modulation product concerned, as has been confirmed by measurements, stands for the current of the modulating frequency
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
a certain amplitude range in a linear relationship.
The following applies: Eb = Yes ³ #ab, Ea = Jb ³ #ba (1) Ec = Yes ³ #ac, Ea = Jc ³ #ca If you now load the throttle via two resonant circuits L1C1 and L2C2 with the resistors R1 and R2 and If, for example, circuit 1 is tuned to frequency a and circuit 2 to frequency b, the EMF Eb creates a current of frequency b, which, conversely, causes an EMF Ea, which causes a current through the choke and circuit 1 that supports the current supplied by S '. So there is a feedback and self-excitation occurs even if S 'and Rv are not present, if
EMI3.11
It is assumed that the throttle Dr,
the inductances L1, L2 and the capacitances C1, C2 are free of loss resistances. If there are losses, the total loss resistances of circuits 1 and 2 must be inserted in R1 and R2 so that the above instability condition applies.
In the example it has been assumed that there is only feedback via frequencies a and b. However, the other modulation products c, d, e etc. also arise in the choke and can be removed if necessary. However, self-excitation can also occur if other modulation products are used for the feedback instead of a and b. For example, circles 1 and 2 can also be tuned to the two side frequencies b and c or d and e. If, for example, the circuit 1 is tuned to the frequency b, the frequency c arises as the side frequency of the even multiple 4fg of the fundamental frequency. The two circles are therefore also tuned to a modulation frequency and to one of the resulting side frequencies.
It has been shown that it is particularly advantageous to tune to one of the lower side frequencies that arise.
A special case arises for a = 2fg. The frequencies a and d then coincide, namely to the relevant multiple 2fg. So if you tune to 2 f s or another even multiple of the basic frequency (you only need one resonance circuit), self-excitation can also occur. The even-numbered multiples of the basic frequency then arise. For a = f g or 3f g etc., self-excitation results in odd multiples of the basic frequency in the same way. The practical application of a frequency doubler operating on this principle BEZW. Multiplier, etc. is shown in FIG.
In this embodiment, the feedback resonant circuit has also been used as the input circuit of a band filter F, which is used, for example, to better filter out an even multiple of the fundamental frequency, for example the frequency 2fg.
Instead of the resonant circuit LC in FIGS. 2 and 8, which is tuned to the fundamental frequency, a larger series resistor can also be used. The resonant circuits L1, C, and L2, C, are shown in Fig. 2 as longitudinal resonance circuits with coils and capacitors. Instead, oscillating crystals or other electromechanical resonators can also be used.
It is particularly advantageous to combine a particularly selective resonance circuit, for example an oscillating crystal, as circuit 1 and a less selective circuit, for example a damped coil-capacitor circuit, as circuit 2 in order to avoid the risk of stabilization in the event of mutual detuning of circuit 1 and circuit 2 and base frequency f, to be reduced. This is of particular importance, for example, when an exact frequency is generated from an imprecise basic frequency, which is taken from the power network, for example. should.
Then one of the two circles will be formed as a vibrating crystal and the other circle can be explored.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
possibly as a band filter with a wave impedance that is leveled in the pass band and runs towards L in the stop band, which has to be terminated with a real resistance and thus has a constant impedance in a larger frequency range. The inductive internal resistance of the iron choke Dr can, if necessary, be taken into account when tuning the feedback loops. As a result, the degree of feedback remains constant even when the fundamental frequency changes.
For example, the oscillating crystal is tuned to frequency d and the other circle is tuned to frequency a. When the basic frequency fg changes, 4fg also changes. Since the circuit is less selective for frequency a, frequency a can also change without the phase measure in the feedback loops being significantly changed. As a result of the use of a very selective circle, for example a vibrating crystal, however, the frequency d remains constant. The exact frequency d can then be obtained, for example, from a resistor connected in series with the oscillating crystal.
You can proceed in a similar way if you want to generate variable frequencies using iron chokes that are magnetized with a constant basic frequency. In this case, for example, the resonant circuit tuned to the frequency a is made selective and changeable and, for example, instead of a second resonant circuit for the frequency d, a band filter with a leveled input impedance is used.
A feedback generator constructed according to the invention is particularly suitable for generating modulated oscillations, for example for calling and signaling purposes. For example, a modulated 500/20 Hz ringing current can be derived from the 50 Hz network. An iron choke is magnetized with this basic frequency and coupled back with 10 and, for example, 490 Hz or even with 110 and 90 Hz. The side frequencies of the even-numbered multiples of 50 Hz then arise, including the frequencies 490 and 510 Hz, which can then be taken and used as a modulated ringing current.
Instead of the simple circuits shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, push-pull circuits and double push-pull circuits can also be used, which offer the advantage that undesired modulation products, such as especially the odd harmonics of the fundamental frequency fg, are suppressed and also circuits 1 and 2 can be decoupled from each other, for example when a and b are matched and the two frequencies are to be taken from different terminals.
In FIG. 4 the case is shown in which the choke, instead of feeding it with sinusoidal current, is connected to a sinusoidal voltage, as has already been proposed. A current then arises in the coil with a strongly distorted curve shape, and instead of series resonant circuits parallel to the choke, parallel resonant circuits L, C1 and L_C_ must be connected in series with the choke. The oscillating circuit LC serving as an energy store is designed as a parallel circuit and is connected in parallel to the generator S instead of in series. The desired modulation products can then be removed from R1 and R_.
Such a circuit is particularly advantageous when the Grundtv ellengenerator. is operated in under-match, for example with a pentode tube circuit as a fundamental wave generator.
Circuit arrangements according to the invention can also be used with advantage as a selective amplifier if the degree of feedback is chosen to be somewhat lower, so that self-excitation does not yet occur. If this is carried out, for example, in an arrangement according to FIG. 4, for example by lowering the resistors R1 and R2, a voltage of frequency a supplied to circuit 1 (L1, Cl, R1) can be applied to circuit 2

(L2, C2, R2) with a different frequency, for example d, extract more intensely.
