Device for generating or amplifying still frequency oscillations. The invention relates to a device for generating or amplifying high-frequency oscillations, which contains at least two discharge tubes which deliver energy to a common output circuit and in which the supply voltage for the anodes is supplied by an AC voltage source which is connected in phase opposition to the anodes.
Such a device is particularly suitable for medical purposes.
A known embodiment of such a device for generating vibrations is shown in FIG. 1 of the drawing. The embodiment shown in this figure contains two discharge tubes 1 and 2, the cathodes of which are connected to each other and conveniently grounded.
The grids of the two tubes are each connected to one of the ends of the coils 3 and 4, the ends of which are not connected to the grids and are connected to the cathodes of the tubes 1 and 2 via a grid resistor 5 that is expediently common to both tubes . The Spu len 3 and 4 are both matched to the frequency of the vibrations to be generated by means of their own capacity and the existing parallel capacitance in the input circuits of tubes 1 and 2.
The anodes of the tubes 1 and 2 are each connected to one of the ends of the coils 6 and 7, the other ends of which are connected to the secondary winding 8 of a supply transformer 9, the primary winding 10 of which is fed by an alternating voltage supplied by the power network can be and the anodes of tubes 1 and 2 is fed in antiphase.
The secondary winding 8 of the supply transformer 9 is bridged by a capacitor 11, which means a short circuit for the oscillations to be generated, and is provided with a central tap which is connected to the cathodes of the tubes 1 and 2. Similar to the coils 3 and 4, the coils 6 and 7 inserted into the anode circles of the tubes 1 and 2 are matched to the frequency of the vibrations to be generated. To generate vibrations, the coils 6 and 3 respectively. 7 and 4 respectively by means of the grid anode capacity of the tube 1. 2 coupled together.
Since in the described device the anode supply voltage is supplied by an alternating voltage source which is connected in phase opposition to the anodes of the tubes 1 and 2, the tubes 1 and 2 are active during alternating half-waves of the anode supply voltage, so that the tubes alternately generate energy to a circle 12 tuned to the frequency of the vibrations to be generated. The oscillations continuously generated in circuit 12 can be fed to a consumption circuit which is switched on between terminals 13 connected to the ends of circuit 12.
When using the device described be for medical purposes, the terminals 13 bezw with an electrode suitable for high-frequency medical treatment. connected to several such electrodes, the body part to be treated in the field of this electrode bezvr. Electrodes can be arranged.
In practice it has been found that the device described has an unfavorable effect and that the energy consumed when idling is relatively large.
The invention is based on the knowledge that the unfavorable efficiency of such a device is due to the fact that grid current flows continuously in the two tubes while only one of the tubes is active at the same time. The grid current of the ineffective tube forms a particular source of loss, which reduces the efficiency.
In the device shown in Fig. 1 Darge presented the grid circuit of the inactive tube flowing through the grid current from the coupling between the coils 6 and 7 by means of the circuit 12, so that a high-frequency alternating voltage occurs at the anode of the ineffective tube generated by the effective tube and is fed through the anode grid capacity of the non-effective tube to the grid circuit of this tube and causes grid current.
The energy loss caused by the grid current is thus in the described device, s double the loss that will occur in a high-frequency oscillator fed with DC voltage with the same output energy.
When the load is reduced, the load impedance of tubes 1 and 2 increases, as a result of which the amplitude of the high-frequency anode alternating voltage and, consequently, that of the voltage occurring at the grid increases. At idle, where the amplitude of the high frequency alternating voltage occurring at the grid is at a maximum, the grid current losses are therefore greatest.
This is particularly detrimental when the oscillator described is used for medical purposes, in which the underloaded state often occurs and thus the average efficiency of the device is particularly unfavorable.
For the purpose of increasing the degree of efficiency of a device of the type to which the invention relates, means are provided in the device according to the invention by means of which during the half-cycle in which the anode supply voltage of a tube is negative with respect to the associated cathode is that the grid current in this tube is suppressed or weakened.
In the following the embodiments of a device according to the invention shown in FIGS. 2 to 5 will be explained in more detail.
With the one in Fig. \? In the illustrated embodiment, an AC voltage source whose frequency corresponds to that of the anode supply voltage is connected to the grids of the tubes 1 and 2 in antiphase. This Wechselspa.nnungsquelle is formed by the secondary winding 14 of a transformer 15, one end of which stood via a discharge resistor 16 and the coil 3 with the grid of the tube 1, the other end via a discharge resistor 17 and the coil 4 with the grid of Tube 2 is connected.
The center of the secondary winding 14 is grounded, while the series connection of the resistors 16 and 17 and the secondary winding 14 is bridged by a capacitor 18, which means a short circuit for the vibrations to be generated. The primary winding 19 of the transformer 15 is conveniently connected to the anode supply source, in such a way that during the half-waves of the anode supply voltage in which the anode of the tube 1 respectively. 2 is negative with respect to the associated cathode, a voltage negative with respect to the cathode is applied to the control grid of this tube,
which suppresses or at least weakens the grid current in this tube.
During the half-waves of the anode supply voltage, in which the tube 1 BEZW. 2 is effective, the control grid of this tube is supplied with a positive voltage with respect to the cathode, which, with correct dimensioning of the leakage resistance 16 inserted into the grid circle, respectively. 17 of the voltage loss caused by this' resistance as a result of the grid current can be compensated for.
It is recommended that the discharge resistors 16 and 17 be larger than usual, so that the grid current required for compensation is limited and brought to the normal value and the grid current losses of the effective tube are as low as possible.
In Fig. 3 an embodiment of the device according to the invention is shown, which is ver differentiated from that of FIG. 2, as the ends of the secondary winding 14 each via rectifier, in the case is two-pole tubes 21 and 22, with the grids of Tubes 1 and 2 are connected in such a way that the ends of the secondary winding are connected to the cathodes of the two-pole tubes. Furthermore, the leakage resistors 16 and 17 are each switched between the anodes of the two-pole tubes and the cathodes of the tubes 1 and 2.
During the half-waves of the anode voltage, in which the anode of a tube, for example the tube 1, is negative with respect to the cathode, a voltage that is negative with respect to the associated anode is fed to the cathode of the two-pole tube 21 from the winding 14 , where a current flows through the old from the two-pole tube 21, the resistance 16 and part of the winding 14, which causes a voltage loss via the resistor 16, which is fed to the grid of the tube 1 with a negative sign and at Proper dimensioning of the mentioned circle prevents the occurrence of grid current in this tube.
During the half-waves of the anode voltage, in which the anode of the tube 1 is supplied with a voltage that is positive with respect to the cathode and the tube 1 is active, the two-pole tube 21 is blocked and the resistor 16 is effective as a leakage resistance, during which of the current in from the two-pole tube 22, the opponent was 17 and the remaining part of the winding 14 existing old man induced voltage loss across the resistor 17, the current in the grid circle of the tube 2 suppressed.
Both in the device of Fig. 3 and that of Fig. 2, the transformers 9 and 15 can be replaced by a single transformer with two secondary windings 8 and 14 and a single primary winding which can be fed from a power network. Appropriately, the transformer 15 is completely omitted and two points of the secondary winding 8 of the transformer 9 located on both sides of the ge grounded center point are each connected to the grids of the tubes 1 and 2 a related party.
In Fig. 4, an embodiment of a device according to the invention is shown in which the secondary winding of the anode feed transformer 9 breaks down into two equal parts 8 'and 8 ", between which the series circuit of two resistors 23 and? 4 is switched on, each The ends of the two resistors facing away from each other are connected to the grids of the tubes 1 and 2 in such a way that the connected ends of the tubes 1 and 2 are grounded in the anode circles. Resistance 23 or 24 lying in the grid circle of tube 2 or 1, respectively, is located.
By means of the capacitor 11, the resistors 23 and 24 are bridged by a short circuit for the vibrations generated.
In this embodiment, during the half-waves in which the anode supply voltage of a tube, for example the tube 1, is negative with respect to the cathode, the anode current of the effective tube 2 causes a voltage loss across the resistor 24, which is of negative polarity the grid of the tube 1 is fed and the grid current is suppressed in this tube, the resistor 23 in the anode circuit of the inoperative tube 1 as a discharge resistance for the effective tube 2 acts.
During the half-waves in which the anode supply voltage of the tube 1 is positive with respect to the cathode, the grid current of the tube 2 is suppressed via the resistor 23 by the voltage loss caused by the anode current of the now effective tube 1, the resistor 24 as a leakage resistance for the tube 1 acts.
Fig. 5 shows an embodiment of a device according to the invention, in which the suppression of the grid current is achieved by the fact that during the half-waves in which a tube is not effective, the value of the leakage resistance of this tube is greatly increased. This increase results from the fact that the line resistances of tubes 1 and 2 are each, at least partially, formed by the anode cathode impedance of a discharge tube, which is periodically blocked at the frequency of the anode supply voltage.
In the illustrated embodiment, the leakage resistance of the tube 1 BEZW. 2 of a resistor 25 respectively. 26 and a discharge tube connected in series with him 27 respectively. 28 formed.
The grid ter of the tube 27 respectively. 28 is about a resistor? 9 beziv. 30 with the secondary winding 31 respectively. 32 of a transformer 33 is connected, the primary wave @ ment 34 of which is fed by an alternating current source, the frequency of which corresponds to that of the anode supply voltage. The various connections are as follows:
ellt that during the half waves in which the anode supply voltage of the tube 1 respectively. 2 is negative with respect to the cathode, your grid of the tube 27 respectively. 28 dureli the transformer 33 is supplied with such a negative voltage that this tube is blocked, so that in the grid circle of the tube 1 respectively. 2 no current can occur.
During the half waves, in which the anode supply voltage of the tube 1 BEZW. 2 is positive with respect to the cathode, the grid of the tube? 7 and? 28 to conduct such a positive voltage that this tube is conductive and the grid current of the tube 1 respectively. 2 can happen undisturbed. The resistors 29 and 30 are intended to limit the grid current of the tubes 2 ″ r and 28. If desired, the transformers 9 and 33 can be replaced by a transformer which contains windings corresponding to the primary winding 10 of the transformer 9 and the secondary windings 8, 30 and 31 .
In addition to the efficiency of the circuits described above, the coils 3 and 4 inserted into the lattice circles of the tubes 1 and 4 can be arranged in such a way that no direct energy transfer takes place between the coils the ineffective tube is set a limit and only a smaller voltage is required to suppress the grid current.
