Description
Self-destructing anti-aircraft missile. The present invention is a self-destructing projectile for aviators defense. In the case of such projectiles one tries to effect by some means that if the projectile has missed the target without exploding, it is nevertheless destroyed by the action of this medium. Such a means is the heat of combustion of the flare of a projectile designed as a tracer projectile, the aforementioned heat of combustion by means of a sensitive heat conductor is intended to ignite the detonating charge of the explosive charge.
Now it has turned out to be difficult to construct a pipe-proof and cheap projectile, because this primer can be ignited prematurely due to the tightness or material. Attempts have been made to remedy this by choosing an ignition charge that is insensitive to shocks, but this did not remove the risk of leakage because the light and ignition charge are only separated by a loosely inserted spacer.
The present invention is intended to remedy the inconvenience and is characterized in that the explosive charge and flare are separated by an intermediate floor consisting of one piece with the projectile body, a projection being provided on the intermediate floor as the heat of combustion of the flare to the primer the flare reaches in and contains the primer.
The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention through a longitudinal section of the floor part containing the intermediate floor.
In the drawing, 1 denotes the projectile body and 2 an intermediate floor between a space containing the explosive charge 3 and a space containing the flare 4. On this intermediate floor there is formed a projection 5 which protrudes into the flare chamber and which rather contains the detonator 7 connected to a detonator (i). Between the explosive charge enclosed in a can S and the intermediate floor is a shock cushion 9 inserted in order to take up the shock that occurs at the Sebuss on the explosive charge.
The flare, however, is housed in a sleeve 10, the size of which a certain burning time and thus also. corresponds to a certain firing range, so that when the flare contained in the case has burned to the end, the projection is made to glow sufficiently that it ignites the ignition charge and thereby the explosive charge, thereby destroying the projectile. The intermediate floor with the projection could of course have different designs.
