B. in Blei, gewahrt.
Fig. 2 zeigt eine solche Anordnung.
Die Erfindung ist nicht auf die beschrie benen Ausführungsbeispiele beschränkt. Man kann z. B. die Giessform auch aus. mehreren; mit Abstand voneinander angeordneten Glier denn bilden. Der lichte Querschnitt der Giess form braucht nicht unbedingt über ,die ganze Länge gleich zu sein;
Device for continuous casting of steel strands using a cooling bath. It is known, for the purpose of producing strands of steel by continuously pouring liquid steel from below, in. A bath rrit cooling liquid of a specific higher weight than steel, z. B. to lead into a lead bath, so that a partial or total solidification of the steel occurs.
The subject matter of the invention is a device according to this method.
If liquid steel is passed through a pouring pipe, e.g. into a lead bath, iso, the cooling of the liquid steel by the colder liquid lead causes the formation of a steel strand. To a useful. In order to preserve the product, it is necessary to properly guide the steel 1. on its way through lead.
In the device according to the invention, a casting mold communicating with the liquid container is provided in order to achieve this goal, the clear cross-sectional area of which is larger than the clear cut-out area of the pouring pipe for introducing the liquid steel, so that the strand in it out, but contact of the not yet sufficiently solidified part of the strand can be avoided with the casting mold.
B. the liquid steel can be introduced from below into the mold, while the cast strand is led out of the mold at the top end. In this way, the path of the strand through the bath is precisely prescribed and ins.besion- dere are harmful influences on the steel that is still liquid, such as eddy movements and circulatory currents in the bath. B.
Interruptions or changes in the shape of the strand above the desired shape are switched off. Due to the amount of cooling liquid present between the steel strand and the inner wall of the casting mold, the advantages of casting strands made of steel, e.g. B. in lead, preserved.
The most favorable cross-sectional ratio between the casting mold and the strand, in which the desired guidance of the steel in the bath is achieved on the one hand, and contact between the steel and the inner surface of the casting mold is avoided, on the other hand, can easily be determined through tests.
It is advantageous to make the formation of the Lich cross-sectional shape of the casting mold according to the outer profile of the strand to be produced. This ensures that in the production of strip, angular, tubular or other profiled castings, profile deviations from the shape of the spout from which the molten steel enters the liquid coolant are avoided as far as possible.
In the drawing, some Ausfüh approximately examples of devices according to the invention are shown schematically.
Fig. 1 shows a container with a. a lead bath b and, with one end immersed therein, the casting mold c. The liquid steel g enters the lead bath through the flow pipe d in such a way that it is captured by the mold c in which the partial or complete solidification of the liquid steel takes place and at the other end of which the strand e can be diverted.
The arrangement of the Giessfon shown in Fig. 1:> is mainly suitable for the production of ribbon-shaped products, the ribbon being flat through the lead bath respectively. the mold is guided.
It can be useful to place the casting mold with its axis perpendicular and to introduce the liquid steel at the bottom to avoid disturbances in the formation of the strand caused by the buoyancy of the steel in lead. as they can occur with the inclined mold and non-ribbon-shaped strands, to avoid.
Next, it may be desirable to train the device in such a way that the same lead in the casting mold is renewed when operating the same, for. B. to prevent the lead evaporation that may be caused by the liquid meal. This can be achieved by keeping the entire casting mold below the lead bath level. is arranged.
Ice then creates a lead bath cycle, which in the casting mold, together with the steel, is directed upwards and outside the casting mold downwards to its entry-side end.
The speed of the lead cycle can be further increased by the injector-like design of the entry-side end of the casting mold in conjunction with the external shape of the steel spout. Fig. 2 shows such an arrangement. In detail are again indicated; .the receptacle for the lead with a, the lead bath itself with b, the casting mold with c, the pouring pipe with d, the liquid steel with g and the strand formed with e.
In the uninterrupted casting of strands of steel using a lead bath, the undisturbed removal of the heat absorbed by the lead from the steel is essential. The heat dissipation can be done in that. The vessel for receiving the lead bath in one of the usual ways, eg. B. by water sprinkling, is cooled from the outside. The arrangement of a cooling coil in the lead bath is also conceivable. The heat can also be removed through the mold. To enable the mold for this, it is z.
B. surrounded by a cooling jacket through which z. B. water is directed ge. Should with. When working at high strand speeds, considerable amounts of heat must be extracted from the steel. To do this, large mold lengths are resp. Lead bath heights required, which can be undesirable for operation.
The cooling can, for. B. by low cooling water temperatures, by high cooling water circulation speeds, by using low mold wall thicknesses or possibly by using copper as the mold material who are driven so far that a jacket of solidified lead forms on the inner surface of the mold. In this way, the smallest possible mold length can be used for a given strand cross-section to be managed.
It is known that for casting strands from steel in lead, it is also necessary to use lead bath for the purpose of heat treatment of the strand formed. This project can be realized with the described device; that the exit end of the casting mold is provided with a heating device by means of which the lead bath in the area of the finished .Stranges can be brought to the desired temperature.
The derivation of the .steel strand can be achieved by arranging a strand guide and discharge device known per se at the exit end of the casting mold, e.g. B. by two or more roles can be achieved.
A further embodiment of the invention is shown in FIG. 3. As shown in the two FIGS. 1 and 2 again denote: a the receptacle for the lead bath, b. The lead bath itself, c. The casting mold, d the mouthpiece of the pouring pipe, g the liquid steel and e the strand formed.
In FIG. 3, the following are additionally indicated and designated: a cooling device for the casting mold with f, a casting mold heating device with h, a strand guide and discharge device with i and with 1c the pouring pipe for feeding: the steel melt.
For the purpose of better constructive design of the cooling and heating device of the casting mold, in the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the lead bath was removed from the outer casting mold jacket surface and led through a special line 1 to the inlet end of the casting mold.
Due to the approximately 50% greater density of liquid lead compared to liquid steel, it gives, if one sees from the application of an additional pressure on the .Stahlsäule in the pouring pipe because of the inconvenience, a considerable pouring pipe height. LTm to be sure to avoid malfunctions caused by this during the commissioning of the device, it is expedient
the entire device before the lead filling is introduced through the pouring pipe by means of a pressure fire placed on the upper end of the pouring pipe, e.g. B. a press; gas-compressed air burner, heated.
The device according to FIG. 3 # is set in motion in the following manner: First, the entire device is filled with liquid lead approximately up to the level of the bottom of the receptacle a. Liquid steel is then poured into the device through the pouring pipe k. As soon as the steel column in the pouring pipe k has reached a sufficient height, which is determined by the ratio of the specific weights of lead and steel, the steel flows out of the nozzle d by pushing the lead in front of it.
As long as the steel column is held high enough in the pouring pipe k, no lead can run back through the nozzle d. As a result of its high exit speed, the steel pulls liquid lead with it when exiting the nozzle d, so that there is always liquid lead in the guide channel c between the channel wall and the steel strand.
The invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments described enclosed. You can z. B. the mold from. several; Glier arranged at a distance from one another then form. The clear cross section of the casting mold does not necessarily need to be the same over the entire length;
Rather, it can narrow upwards in the sense of the figures, since contact of the already sufficiently solidified part of the strand with the casting mold may not only be harmless, but possibly even for better guidance of the strand.
