Locking device on the brake levers of bicycle brakes. The subject of the invention is a blocking device on brake levers of bicycle brakes, which makes it possible to block the brake lever in any braking position during long downhill journeys.
The locking device according to the inven tion is attached to the holder attached to the bicycle handlebar by means of a clamp, to which the brake lever is aasgelenken, with a locking pawl which can be engaged with a locking pawl, which when required by the hand pulling the brake lever simultaneously in the desired braking position is latchable.
In the drawing, an example embodiment of the subject invention is shown.
Fig. 1 shows the blocking device in the rest position and Fig. 2 shows the blocking device in a switching position.
1 is a U-shaped holder, the forked upper part 2 of which is fastened as a clamp half with the aid of a counter clamp 3 and a screw 4 on the handlebars L of the bicycle. 5 is the Bowden cable supported against the holder 1, in which the brake cable 6 leads to the bicycle brake. 7 is the brake lever which is articulated to swing between the legs of the holder 1 around the axle bolt 8 and which holds the end of the brake cable 6 held in a cable lug 9 in a bore.
10 is a pawl with a U-shaped cross-section, and the brake lever partially lies in this so that the former is well guided. The pawl is articulated on the brake lever 7, which can swing around a bolt 11, and can be manually latched into a locking toothing 12 by means of the pawl tooth 10 ', the latter being arranged on the edges of the legs of the holder 1 directed towards the brake lever. The pawl 10 has two arms, and the part facing the locking toothing 12 is longer and will therefore always keep ge in the release position when you pull the brake lever by its own weight.
If necessary, the pawl can be engaged in the ratchet teeth by loading the longest lever part with a finger of the hand pulling the brake lever. The pawl is released automatically as soon as the pawl is no longer loaded by hand and the brake lever is pulled a little more. If the pawl is not in use, it can always be loaded by the index finger when the brake lever is pulled. whereby an unintentional latching of the same is avoided.
