Elastische Kupplung.
Fig. 1 zeigt eine Kupplung im Aufriss, Fig. 2 im Seitenriss.
Elastic coupling. The present invention relates to an elastic coupling whose elasticity is based on the deformation of shear-loaded rubber bodies. The invention consists in that a plurality of cylindrical rubber bodies are arranged axially parallel to the axis of rotation of the coupling with a mutual spacing between the concentric coupling halves, the rubber bodies engaging both in the inner and in the outer coupling half,
in order to stress them tangentially to thrust under the action of the torque. The rubber bodies can be prevented from stretching in length by close contact with their forehead surfaces and placed under tension by axial compression.
An air gap can be seen between the coupling halves, for the purpose of tangential deformation. allow the rubber body. Can with advantage. the projections provided on the two coupling halves between .den rubber bodies. symmetrical shape, so that: the coupling has the same elasticity and the same characteristic curve in both directions of rotation. These projections between the rubber bodies can also have an asymmetrical shape.
The rubber bodies can. made more elastic by a central bore or: stiffened by a core made of more rigid material, which is inserted or vulcanized into the central bore. The outer coupling half can. : Form the secondary part of the coupling and be rotatably mounted on the extended shaft of the inner primary part and carry means on the outer circumference for transmitting the power.
The secondary part of the clutch can be designed as a damper mass and the device can be built as a vibration damper on a crankshaft or on a shaft line. The secondary part of the coupling can be coupled with a damper mass.
Some embodiments of the subject invention are shown in the drawing: schematically.
Fig. 1 shows a coupling in elevation, Fig. 2 in side elevation. 3 to 7 show a detail in different versions.
The cylindrical rubber body 1 ver bind the two concentric coupling halves 2 and 3 elastically, with the coupling half 2, the shaft 4, the coupling half 3 on the shaft 5 is arranged. The coupling halves 2 and 3 are held firmly on the shafts 4 and 5 by wedges 6 and 7.
The rubber bodies 1 inserted with a mutual distance between the coupling halves are slightly longer in the free state than the inner width between the end wall 2 'of the outer coupling half 2 and the cover ring 8, so that the rubber bodies 1 are put under pressure when the cover ring 8 is screwed on. By changing the free length of the rubber body 1, the preload can be set as desired.
The rubber bodies 1 therefore lie with their end faces snugly on the coupling half 2 and the cover ring 8, so that they can only deform in the tangential direction and generate a large frictional torque when vibrations occur, the basic value of which is given by the preload and that increases progressively with increasing oscillation deflection due to the growing axial stress. The possibility of tan gential deformation will create ge through the air gap 9 between the two coupling halves.
The coupling has a non-linear characteristic; the spring value increases progressively with increasing twist, and the coupling locks itself gently and automatically when the deflection reaches a maximum due to the shape of the air gap. In the event of a sudden excessive load: The rubber bodies are pulled through the air gap 9 and the coupling acts as a safety coupling against shaft breakage.
Fig. 3 shows the formation of the Luftspal TES and the projections between the Aus: - Recesses 20 for the rubber body 1. The shape of the projections 10 and 11 is symmetrical to the radial center line x-x. The Kul minationsstellen of the projections 10 and 11 are strongly rounded so that they do not cut into the rubber body 1.
As a variant, FIG. 4 shows a rubber cylinder 1.5 with a central bore 16, which has a greater elasticity than the full body 1 with the same elastic modulus of the rubber.
Fig. 5 shows an asymmetrical shape of the projections 12 and 13. When the inner coupling half 3 is rotated clockwise, the elasticity is greater than in the opposite direction of rotation due to the flatter shape of the sides of the projections that are effective. As a result of the asymmetrical design of the projections 12 and 13 delimiting the air gap 9, it is achieved that the characteristic curve is unequal for both directions of rotation.
In Fig. 6, the rubber body 17 is shown as a further variant with a core 18 made of metal or another material with a rela tively high modulus of elasticity. Instead of the full core 18, a hollow core can be used, or, for example, an iron tube can be vulcanized into the rubber body.
7 shows the tangential deformation of a rubber body 1 'when the inner coupling half 3 is rotated with respect to the outer coupling half 2 by the angle c., Under any desired torque.
The coupling can absorb inaccuracies in the axial direction of both halves without disadvantage. On the outer circumference of the outer Ktipplttrt- # half 2, for example, a ring gear to drive a gear or a belt can be attached. The outer part \? the coupling can be mounted on the extended shaft 5 of the inner part 3. The latter also applies to the case where the coupling is installed as a damper at the end of a shaft.
The size of the air gap and the shape of the protrusions mentioned are best determined experimentally. By changing the Srirlraumey, the elasticity. and change the characteristic curve of the clutch within wide limits.
Where particularly high elasticity is required, the rubber bodies can be provided with a central bore, and where, on the contrary, a relatively stiff coupling is required, a full or tubular core made of iron or any material can be incorporated into the central bore A larger modulus of elasticity can be used.
As a result of strong friction on the front and lateral surfaces of the rubber body used with any pretension, as well as due to the hysteresis of the rubber, the coupling acts to a large extent attenuating when torsional vibrations are imposed. Furthermore, the non-linear and progressively increasing characteristic curve with increasing oscillation amplitude causes a shift in the natural frequency upwards, which results in a further reduction: the maximum deflection and the stresses.
The coupling thus combines favorable properties for laying and from attenuating critical speed ranges and can therefore be addressed and used as a damper coupling. In conjunction with an additional mass that is driven by the secondary part of the clutch or placed directly on it, the clutch can be used as the actual damper in cases where dangerous, critical speed ranges have to be passed when starting and stopping a machine.
