Device for calibrating electricity meters.
The invention relates to a device for calibrating electricity meters of a first type of current, e.g. B. direct current, by means of a calibration counter of a second type of current, e.g. B. Alternating current.
It has already been proposed to connect the direct current meter to be tested to the alternating current test device via a rectifier. However, since the rectifier does not work proportionally, this results in an inaccurate test.
According to the invention, the device consists of an integrating comparison device, one side of which is connected to the circle of the calibration meter and the other side to the circle of the meter to be tested. The device also has a regulating device which can be adjusted during the test period in such a way that at least at the end of the test period the comparison device has the same deflection as at the beginning. In the simplest case, the comparison device has two drive systems. The drive systems can act in opposite directions on a common armature provided with a display device, or each on a special armature which operate the display device in opposite directions via a differential gear.
The torques of the drive systems or the armature movements are advantageously adjusted in such a way that they cancel each other out when the electrical variables in the circle of the meter to be tested have the correct value for the test in question.
The comparison device is best made up of two comparison devices, one of which compares the voltages and the other the currents.
Embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing.
1, V is an alternating current network, G is a direct current network. E is the test meter, P is the DC meter to be tested. The test counter E is connected to its voltage drive magnet 1, FIG. 1, in the usual way via an adjustable converter or voltage divider 2 with the network @@. An adjustable current transformer 4 is connected in series with the current coil 3, to which the current corresponding to the relevant load level is branched off, while the counter E always works with the same load or approximately the same load.
Since the circuit and mode of operation of such equal load calibration meters are known per se, they should not be explained in detail. At the current transformer 4 is now a drive system 5 of a comparative device r connected. It acts on an armature 51 which drives one part 52 of a differential gear D in the direction of the arrow.
The third part 6 of the differential gear is connected to the display device 60.
The second part 72 of the differential gear is driven in the opposite direction by the armature 71 of a direct current meter 7, in which the armature and field winding are connected in series and connected to a secondary resistor 8 in the main circuit of the meter P, which also feeds the current winding 9.
The voltage winding 10 is connected via the adjustable resistor 15 to the network S, the voltage of which acts on a DC meter 11 of a second comparison device. The voltage of the AC network acts on the second drive system 12 of the comparison device via a controllable converter 13 (F. Die Anker of the two drive systems 11, 12 are connected in the same way as in the comparison device V via a differential gear to a display device 61. 14 is a resistor for setting the main current of the counter P.
The torques of the drive systems of the comparison devices and 'are matched so that they are equal to each other if the load on the dyke current meter 1' corresponds exactly to the set load level of the test device from which the Eiclizahler 1D derives. The torques of the drive systems 5 and 7 are proportional to the square of the current strength of the two main circuits, the torques of the drive systems 11 and 12 to the square of the voltage of the two counter circuits.
The device works as follows: The converters 2 and 4 and possibly other control devices, not shown, are based on a table on the corresponding constant of the counter P to be checked and on the desired loading level, z. B. full load, set. Both counters are then switched on and the resistors 14, 15 are adjusted by means of a rollover measurement so that the display devices 60, 61 remain at least approximately at rest. The anchor of the calibration counter E can be held.
The display devices 60, 61 are now set to zero. Furthermore, the armature of the counter I ', which has meanwhile been switched off again, is rotated forward with its mark. Now all devices are switched on at the same time and switched off again at the same time when the armature of the counter P has just made 20 revolutions, for example. During the switch-on state, the voltages of the networks @ and G will probably change slightly and the load currents of the meters will also fluctuate somewhat.
If the changes on the direct current and alternating current side are in the same direction and of the same size, then the pointers of the comparison devices V and v remain at rest. If, however, the changes are in opposite directions or differently large, or if only one voltage changes, then the display devices 60 and 61 begin to run in one sense or the other. The resistors 14, 15 are then adjusted until the display devices 60, 61 have reached the zero position again. There is no need to be in a hurry because it is sufficient if the zero position is reached just at the end of the test period.
After the two counters have been switched off, the error in the counter P can be detected directly on the Eicbzähler in a known manner. E can be read. Stopping the revolution of the counter P by hand is not necessary if an automatic stop device is used, which is actuated by the counter P by means of contacts or light pulses. If the display devices 60, 61 are not in the zero position because of an oversight at the end of the test period, the test in question must be repeated. After the test at full load, the test at half, fifth, etc. load is carried out in the usual way by adjusting the resistor 14 and the converter 4 accordingly.
In the exemplary embodiment, the current and voltage coils of the two meters are each connected to the same network. Instead, you can use separate circuits for current and voltage for each counter in the usual way. For example, the alternating current meter E can be fed by two generators with a common shaft, one of which supplies the voltage, the other the current and both of which are set to a phase shift of zero degrees. A special generator or battery can also be used on the direct current side for the current and the voltage.
While in Fig. 1 in the comparison devices V, i; the squares of the currents and voltages are compared, the current and voltage values are compared in FIG. 2, that is to say in the first power. The comparison devices u contain DC ampere-hour meters 50, 70, 110, 120. Rectifiers 16, 17 are connected between the alternating current network W and the ampere-hour meters 50, 120.
By, omitted for the sake of simplicity, adjust. Resistances, voltage dividers or the like can be used to ensure that the measurement errors caused by the rectifier's non-proportional work do not appear in the individual load levels.
Otherwise, the device according to FIG. 2 operates in the same way as that according to FIG. 1.
If the voltage of the alternating current network W is kept constant by any means, then, as shown in FIG. 3, alternating current watt hour counters also appear in place of the direct current ampere hour counters 50, 120 of FIG. In the counter 150, the voltage coil is connected to the constant voltage, the current coil is connected to the converter 4, while in the counter 121 both coils are connected to the voltage. The counter 121 runs at a constant speed, the counter 150, because the voltage is constant, at a speed proportional to the current. The comparison device V therefore compares the two currents.
The comparison device a compares the voltage-dependent speed of the ampere-hour counter 110 with the constant speed of the counter 121. Otherwise, the mode of operation is again the same as in FIG.
Similarly, counters with abnormal frequencies, for example 25, 16 2/3 periods, can be checked if the comparison devices are equipped with counters or drive systems for these number of periods.
The invention allows a calibration meter developed for a specific type of current to be used for testing meters of a different type of current using a suitable comparison device. The circuits of the calibration meter and the test meter can be completely independent of each other. A particular advantage is that the currents and voltages of the two counters can fluctuate during the test without affecting the accuracy of the measurement, if you only use regulation to ensure that the comparison devices reset to zero at the end of the test period to reach.
