There is a method for dyeing and printing Tex tilien, which is largely Runaway leads by dry means and that consists in that sublimable or vaporizable dyes, especially disperse dyes, from a coated with the dye carrier, preferably a carrier paper, transferred to the textile material. The carrier material provided with the dye is placed on the textile material and heated with a press or a calender, the dyes being converted into the gaseous state and fixed on the textile material.
In the FR patent application No. 2 164 846 a process is described for the continuous application of paste-like dye preparations to a textile web at least partially made of synthetic organic fibers by the sublimation transfer printing method. The dye preparation is applied over the entire surface or in the form of a pattern to an endless carrier which is stable to mechanical and thermal stress and is inert to the preparation and dried, whereupon the treated surface of the endless carrier is brought into contact with the surface of the textile web to be printed and then the backing and the textile web are subjected to a heat treatment of at least 13 ° C.
One or more colored patterns are applied to the endless carrier using roller, film or gravure printing machines, or the endless belt is printed one after the other in a basic tone and then with the same or different patterns. As an endless carrier is a pore-free endless belt with a smooth surface that is washable from, for. B. a metal tape or a paper or textile fabric tape optionally coated with plastic. However, this method has the disadvantage that the endless carrier has to be cleaned after each cycle from the application of the dye preparation to the separation of the printed textile web from the endless carrier, which requires a special cleaning device.
In addition, there are not inconsiderable losses of dye and there is contaminated waste water with remains of the dye preparation, which is ecologically unsatisfactory. Furthermore, when using printing pastes with temperature-resistant binders at temperatures above 200 ° C. there is a risk of the carrier and the fabric to be printed sticking together.
The invention aims to avoid the disadvantages of the known method. The invention relates to a process for the continuous production of color patterns on textile fabrics using sublimable dyes, the transfer of the dye to the textile fabric by means of a temperature-resistant, uncoated, endless Tex tilbahn as a carrier tape, on which a dye solution is applied and the device runs through a transfer printing device and is brought into contact with the textile surface in the latter. The method is characterized in that a textile web is used as the carrier tape which is provided with a structure pattern and / or a reserve print pattern.
The method according to the invention has the advantage over the known method that it permits the production of the color patterns on textile fabrics without the use of roller, film or gravure printing machines. Furthermore, no pasty dye preparations are required, but there are dye solutions without the use of binders by means of an application device such. B. a padder on the absorbent, porous, endless carrier. This achieves an even application of the dyes to the carrier and a complete transfer of the dyes to the textile fabric. There is no need to wash out the endless carrier and no cleaning device is required.
In addition, there is no loss of dye and no waste water contaminated with dye residues falls.
The paint can be applied to the endless carrier belt by means of a padder, a spray device, or a roller. When using a roller or a spray device as a paint application device, only one side of the carrier tape can be coated with dye and brought into contact with a web of textile fabric to be provided with color patterns, whereupon the carrier tape is passed onto the textile fabric in this state by the transfer printing device becomes.
In each case, only as much dye should be applied to the carrier tape when it passes through the squeegee roller as is required for the subsequent transfer to the textile fabric. When using a padder, the carrier tape can be dipped into the dye solution and coated with dye on both sides. It is thus possible to bring both sides of the carrier tape into contact with a flat textile structure each to be provided with color patterns and to guide them through the transfer printing device.
The carrier tape used is a textile web with a structure pattern, which is optionally provided with a reserve printing pattern, so that a patterned coloration is obtained on the textile fabric.
To increase the strength, the carrier tape can additionally be reinforced with an endless tape made of solid, non-stretchable material such as leather or metal wire mesh, this reinforcing tape then being sandwiched on one or both sides with a textile web that has a structure pattern and / or has a reserve pressure pattern.
To produce color patterns on textile fabrics, carrier tapes can also be used, which consist of two sandwich-like textile webs, one of which is printed according to the pattern with reserves that are impermeable to the dye vapors: The textile web printed with the reserves can be made of natural and / or synthetic fibers, while the other textile web to be provided with the dye solution preferably consists of natural fibers. After application of the dye solution to the carrier tape, the textile web to be provided with color patterns is brought into contact in the order printing device with the printed with the reserves, acting as a template textile web of the carrier tape, whereby a single-color pattern is obtained.
The structural pattern of the textile web serving as the carrier tape can be caused by special binding effects and / or fancy yarns. On the other hand, as already mentioned above, a reserve printing pattern is produced by printing reservation means onto the textile web serving as a carrier tape.
But it is also possible to print a textile web of the carrier tape with metal powder-containing reserves and to bring the textile web to be treated with the textile web of the carrier tape impregnated with the dye solution in con tact. In the transfer printing device, the side of the carrier tape printed with the reserves is located in the immediate vicinity of the heating device and, because of the heat-conducting effect of the metal powder-containing reserves, the heat reaches the reserved areas more quickly on the textile web to be printed than in the other areas so that tone-on-tone colorations are created.
An arrangement for carrying out the method according to the invention is shown schematically in the figure of the drawing, on the basis of which the invention is explained in more detail. With 1 the endless carrier tape, for. B. a cotton fabric referred to, which runs in the direction of the arrow on the drive and pulleys 2 and 8 '. The carrier tape 1 passes a roller 3 which is immersed in a container 4 which contains the dye dissolved in water or in an organic solvent. With a container 12 is referred to, from which dye solution is continuously supplied. Since after the carrier tape 1 runs through a pre-dryer 5 and then arrives in the transfer printing device.
This consists essentially of a cylinder 6 with a perforated jacket surface and one over the latter and the drive and order pulleys 8 and 8 'guided, flexible, endless conveyor belt 7 made of heat-resistant material, a number of heat radiators 9 for heating the cylinder 6 and the conveyor belt 7 as well as a device, not shown, for generating a vacuum inside the cylinder 6.
The rolled up tex tile web 10 to be provided with color patterns is passed over the rollers 8, 8 ', where it is brought into contact with the dye-coated side of the carrier tape 1, whereupon the web 10 and the carrier tape 1 come together between the cylinder 6 and the conveyor belt 7 are introduced. The textile web 10 is then dyed under the action of the atmospheric overpressure generated by the vacuum device and the heating to approx. After leaving the area in which the cylinder 6 and the conveyor belt 7 circulate with one another, the pattern-conforming colored textile web 10 'is rolled onto the shaft 11.
