Description

Ringbnchmeclianih.

Ringbnchmeclianih. The present invention relates to a ring binder mechanism. It consists in the fact that ring pliers are slidably arranged in a rail with guide grooves fastened in the back of the book folder, of which two halves of the pliers are fastened to a resilient sheet steel that is bent by turning a flattened rod, whereby the pliers open.

In the accompanying drawing, an example embodiment of the subject of the invention is illustrated; It shows: Fig. 1 an open ring binder with closed ring pliers in a perspective view, Fig. 2 a ring pliers closed in view, Fig. 3 a ring pliers open in view, Fig. 4 and 5 the rod for opening the ring pliers.

On the inside of the back of the ring binder 1 a rail 2 is attached, which has grooves which are formed by the folded edges 3 of the rail 2. In the grooves of this rail engage, longitudinally displaceable, flat steel spring strips 4, on which on both sides of reinforcements 5, the pliers halves 6 of the ring pliers are riveted.

At both ends of the rail 2, a round rod 9 is mounted in the bearings 7 and 8, which is bent at an angle at one or both ends. The bent end 10 serves as a handle for rotating the rod 9. The rod 9 has flattened areas 11 of approximately half the rod thickness. The flattened parts of the rod 9 reach under the steel spring strips 4 (Fig. 2).

If the rod is now rotated by 90, the steel spring band is lifted upwards by half the rod diameter, and because its ends are held in the grooves of the rail 2, the steel band 4 bends, causing the ring pliers to open (Fig . 3). The rod 9 can be provided with several flat areas 11 of spring strip width.

7You then determine and secure the distance from one ring pliers to the other. The distance between the flats must therefore match the distance between the perforations in the documents to be registered.
