Control device for the mechanically moved contacts of power converters. The invention aims at the advantageous design of a control device for the mechanically moved contacts of high-voltage converters and consists in that the contact bottom closing is controlled by the voltage on the opened contacts.
As a result, compared to known rotating drive means, the impairment of the closing process by inertia can be reduced and thus the accuracy can be increased.
In addition, the following are also avoided: harmful consequences of irregularities in the course of the alternating voltage, so that in such cases the timely closure of the contacts is ensured, which must be complied with with regard to the desired sequence of the commutation process.
As an exemplary embodiment for the inven tion, a three-phase arrangement for converting three-phase current into direct current or vice versa is shown in the drawing.
The primary winding 11 of a transformer is located on a three-phase network 10: the contact devices consisting of two resting contacts 15, 16 and a movable bridging contact 17 are connected to the secondary winding 12 via switching chokes 13 with an iron core 14.
The switching chokes 13 can, as drawn, consist of two parallel winding branches that are in the same sense with the magnetic core. 14 are chained. The magnetic cores:
the holding chokes consist preferably of a flat, wound strip of a magnetically high-quality iron type, the magnetization characteristic of which is inclined as little as possible towards the flux axis in the unsaturated area,
at the transition points in the saturated areas each have a sharp bend as possible and in the saturated areas with the highest possible induction almost parallel to the axis of the magnetic excitation.
The number of turns and core cross-section of the switching chokes are preferably designed in such a way that the magnetic core is only unsaturated for very small instantaneous values of the current in the vicinity of the zero value, the resistance value of the switching choke being many times that present when the magnetic core is saturated,
so that the switching throttle represents a series resistance that can be changed by automatic control. Due to the sudden desaturation of this magnetic core, each time in the vicinity of a current zero passage a low-current pause is produced, which facilitates the interruption, the length of which for a given iron type depends on the core cross-section,
depends on the number of turns and the voltage applied to the switching choke.
An auxiliary winding, not shown in the drawing, can also be attached to the holding throttle core 14. which the core is pre-magnetized from a direct or alternating current source in such a way that the current to be interrupted at the beginning of the low-current break and at the beginning of the contact opening still has a finite instantaneous value in the same direction as during the previous current transmission period.
With an alternating current pre-magnetization it can be achieved that the core 14 is already in a saturated state before the switch-on process and is therefore ineffective for this process.
The main power lines lead from the contact devices via holding windings 18 and via a common smoothing choke 19 to one pole of a direct current network 20, the other pole of which is connected to the star point of the secondary winding 12.
The movable contact bridges 17 are driven by a polyarized electromagnetic drive device, which consists for example of a three-legged magnet 21 with a pivotable armature 22 and is polarized by an excitation winding 23. A direct current source 40 is used to feed the exciter winding 23, a stabilizing throttle 39 being built into the feed line.
The opening movement is brought about by means of a winding 24,
which is excited from an adjacent phase of the secondary winding 12 via a grid-controlled amplifier tube 25. The control grid of the reinforcement tube is i influenced by an auxiliary winding 26,
which is connected in series with a voltage battery 27 and a preferably controllable effective resistor 29. A capacitor 28, the capacity of which can be regulated, is connected between the grid and the cathode. In series with the anode is also a
if necessary, controllable effective resistance 30.
Parallel to each interruption point, a secondary path, consisting of an active resistor 31 and a capacitor 32, is provided, via which the current at least partially when the contact is opened:
is maintained in such a way that the voltage at the isolating distance increases only gradually. The secondary path also contains a winding 33 which is practically ineffective during the opening process, since it is linked to a magnetic core 34 which is in a saturated state during the opening process.
This core has essentially the same properties as the switching throttle core 14 he mentioned above; possibly to an even higher degree, and is also linked to the switching inductor winding 13. However, the winding sense of the windings 13 and 33 is opposite, so that the difference in the number of turns as the excitation of the magnet core 34 is effective during the opening process.
The number of turns are now coordinated with one another in such a way that the core 34 remains in the saturated state during the opening process. Instead of a difference in the number of turns, this result can also be achieved with the same number of turns of the windings 13 and 33 by an additional premagnetization of the 3-layer network 34 with the aid of an in
Drawing, not shown, special auxiliary winding can be achieved, which can be fed with alternating current from the operating frequency of the network 10 and suitable phase position who can, such that the core 34 is just before the switch-on in the unsaturated state, as close as possible to the one saturation limit , which is opposite to the direction of the subsequent current.
The consequence of this is that after the contact has been closed, the current flowing through the contact device, namely both the main current and the discharge current coming from the capacitor 32, is kept at a practically negligible value until the core 34 has passed through the unsaturated area has reached a saturation state in the direction of the current and thus the inductance of the winding located on it:
Gen 13 and 33 has dropped by leaps and bounds to a practically negligible value, so that the passage of current can proceed unhindered. The spark-free contact closure is made much easier by the given effect of the magnetic core 34.
Furthermore, in parallel with the contacts, an excitation winding 35, which causes them to close independently of the disconnection processes, is connected in series with auxiliary contacts 36, an uncontrolled valve 37 and an active resistor 38. The moving parts of the auxiliary contacts 36 are driven by a drive device not shown in the drawing,
preferably driven by a synchronous motor fed by the network 10 or by the secondary azeklung 12, the phase position of which can be changed by means of a twistable stator or a rotating transformer door or the like.
Instead of auxiliary contacts and an uncontrolled valve, a discharge vessel with adjustable grid control can be used to set and regulate the closing time.
The device described works as follows: The switch-on process is initiated by closing the auxiliary contacts 36 at a point in time that can be selected and regulated by adjusting the phase position of the synchronous drive device, regardless of the position or any delay in the moment of opening,
in that a voltage of a predetermined direction and magnitude occurring at the opened contacts is used to send a current through the excitation coil 35 via the valve 37, which causes the armature 22 to be attracted in the closing direction.
The after saturation of the; Magnetic core 34 increasing current exerts a holding force on armature 22 by means of auxiliary winding 18 so that the required contact pressure is assured during the following current transmission time, n @ a:
before the excitation coil 85 is bridged by the closure of the main contacts and thus de-energized. Immediately thereafter, the auxiliary contacts 36 can also be opened in the de-energized state and therefore spark-free.
Towards the end of the current transmission time of the phase under consideration, the closing of the main contacts of the following phase takes place in the same way as smeared.
The increase in current caused by the commutation voltage in: the following phase is associated with a corresponding decrease in current in the phase under consideration, which is now supposed to deliver the current, assuming a completely smoothed DC current. As soon as this current approaches the zero value, the switching inductor core 14 suddenly goes into the unsaturated state.
A low-current pause begins, during which the further change in current takes place very slowly, whereas a rapid change in flow occurs in then. Switching reactor core 14 takes place.
A voltage is generated in the auxiliary winding 26 through this, which counteracts the bias voltage of the battery 27 on the grid of the amplifier tube 25 and, since it predominates, presses an opposite voltage onto the grid.
The auxiliary winding 26 could also be attached to an additional switching circuit core, the saturation limit of which is at a higher instantaneous value of the current. By appropriately setting this saturation value, e.g.
B. with the help of a possibly adjustable pre-magnetization, the delay time for the beginning of the contact opening according to Wums-ch could be made as small as desired, even until it is completely eliminated. The number of turns of the auxiliary winding 26 may, for example, be dimensioned so that the voltage generated in it is about twice the value of the battery voltage, i.e. about 200 volts,
if the voltage of the battery is 27 100 volts. The voltage reversal on the grid causes the discharge path for the voltage of the subsequent phase on the amplifier tube to be released, so that after ignition has occurred, a current flows through the amplifier tube via the active resistor 30 and the excitation winding 24 and the transmission - contact 17 is opened.
The energy required to open the contact is therefore supplied by a sufficiently strong current source, namely, for example, from the secondary winding 12 of the transformer, while only a very small amount of energy occurring in the switching choke core 14 is withdrawn through the auxiliary winding 26 are needed so that the fulfillment of the main task of the switching reactor, to create easier conditions for the power interruption, is not noticeably impaired.
As a result, the general usefulness of the described enclosed automatic release device is also increased for instantaneous contact opening.
Before the ignition of the discharge tube 25 occurs in the illustrated embodiment, the capacitor 28 must first be discharged and charged in the opposite direction. This is BEZW with suitable design. Setting the capacitor 28 achieved the desired delay tion of the opening time.
The delay time can preferably be selected to be greater than the time required from the issuing of the opening command to the beginning of the contact separation due to the inertia of the control and drive means of the contacts (proper time). The Rege development of the effective resistor 29 offers another option for adjusting the delay time.
The effective resistor 30 has the task of protecting the discharge tube 25 from excessive current.
By suitable dimensioning of the number of turns of the switching throttle 13 and the cross-section of its magnetic core 14, the length of the low-current break can be made greater than the sum of the delay time and operating time of the release device until the start of the contact opening, so that the The last one definitely falls into the low-power break.
If at this moment the current to be interrupted as a result of the above-mentioned additional pre-magnetization of the holding throttle core 14 has not yet quite reached its zero value, a small opening voltage in the direction of the operating current occurs at the opening contacts has to go through zero first,
before it can settle to a high value in the opposite direction. This particularly prevents the occurrence of switching lights on the contacts that open for calibration.
The closing and opening of the remaining phases takes place at regular intervals during a period of the alternating voltage in the same way as described.
An AC switching device with the specified features is particularly well suited for welding with direct current, because in this case, operationally instead of short circuits, there is a risk that the saturation processes on the respectively. the change in the series resistance of the during a switching or. At least partially replay the commutation process,
can especially come to the fore. The arrangements described represent so-called self-thinking circuits in which, through automatic control depending on the electrical variables occurring, a switching process can only take place at a moment in which the conditions for freedom from sparks are met.
