Periodically operated switch, especially for mechanical converters. Periodically operated mechanical switches, such as those used in particular for converting electrical energy (rectifier, inverter, converter), can be relieved with regard to the breaking capacity. Such means of relief are z. B. Switching elements with controlled current flow direction on the three-phase current side of the transformer or iron chokes in the supply lines to the contacts, which are already saturated at very low values of the currents flowing through. It has also been found to be advantageous to also connect a capacitor in parallel with the contacts.
As switches for mechanical power converters, both switches with rotating parts and switches with reciprocating parts have been proposed so far. The switches with rotating parts have so far been based closely on the design of electrical machines and have taken over brushes and collectors. However, this possibility has not been satisfactory in operation. The invention relates to a further embodiment of periodically operated switches, in particular for mechanical converters.
According to the invention, the revolving part consists of one or more rollers that run on the inner cylindrical surface of a contact path and establish a conductive connection between two adjacent contact pieces in the axial direction.
Between two contact pieces insulated from these intermediate pieces are expediently provided so that the contact rollers also roll from one to the other contact piece on the intermediate piece. The transition pieces are expediently offset in the axial direction relative to the associated contact pieces. They can be made of the same material as the contact pieces, but they can also be made of insulating material with approximately the same wear resistance as is necessary for the contact pieces.
The contact pieces can be made entirely or at least at the run-off edges from a material that is resistant to burning, such as, for. B. tungsten. The contact track is expediently divided in the middle, so that the two halves can be rotated against each other about the common axis in order to change the contact duration.
In the drawing Ausführungsbei are shown games of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a side view, Fig. 2 shows a development of the contact track, Fig. 3 shows a vertical longitudinal section, Fig. 4 shows a development of the modified version of the contact track and Fig. 5 the same version in mutually shifted position. Fig. 6 shows a circuit diagram of a three-phase converter in a bridge circuit, which is equipped with the contact devices according to the invention.
In FIGS. 1 and 2, 1, 2, 3 and 4 and 1 ', 2', 3 'and 4' denote the conductive contact pieces which are held by an insulating collar 5. Between the lei border contact piece pairs are isolated from these arranged spacers 6, the pieces before geous compared to the associated contact are shifted in the axial direction. The contact rollers 7 and 8, which are held and driven by two arms 10 attached to a shaft 9, run on the con tact pieces and the spacers and each connect the opposite con tact pieces with each other.
The intermediate pieces 6, which are axially displaced with respect to the contact pieces, ensure that the contact rollers 7 and 8 can move smoothly from one contact piece to the other, and that any breakaway arcs that may arise at the moment the contact rollers 7 and 8 run down of the contact pieces 1-4 and 1'-4 'do not destroy the spacers "- can.
The intermediate pieces are expediently selected from the same material and of the same width as the contact pieces. The intermediate pieces 6 can also be made from a different material, preferably also from an insulating material. It is useful to choose a material whose wear resistance is approximately the same as that of the contact mate rials. The result is that even after prolonged use of the contact device, no uneven wear can occur. The roles that run on the contact pieces and the intermediate pieces are useful in one; Kind of link guide stored, and they are given a game in the radial direction so that the required contact pressure is produced in the simplest manner by centrifugal force.
In order to increase the contact pressure, if necessary, and to bring the rollers to a standstill at low rotational speed, they can advantageously be pressed against the contact tracks by compression springs mounted in the scenes.
In order to protect the contact pieces at the run-off edges against any breakaway arcs, they will advantageously be produced either entirely or at least at the run-off edges from a material that is particularly resistant to erosion, e.g. tungsten.
Furthermore, in order to avoid that the tear-off arcs always start at the same point on the contact rollers, it is advantageous to choose the ratio of the roller circumference to the circumference of the cylindrical contact track so that the trailing edges of the contacts always start at a different point on the roller circumference work together, d. H. that the roll lenircumference to the circumference of the cylindrical contact track is not in a simple ratio nal numerical ratio.
In the areas of application of this scarf ter as a converter, it is often desirable to change the duration of the contact. According to FIGS. 4 and 5, this can be done by dividing the contact path in the axial direction into two partial paths and providing a possibility for mutual rotation of the contact path parts.
The ge usually (Fig. 4) opposite contact pieces 1 and 1 'respectively. 2 and 2 ', which cause a contact time f and an interruption time 1s, are then brought into a different position relative to one another according to FIG. 5, whereby the contact time is shortened to time ls and the interruption time is extended to time 14.
When using these switches as converters, it is often desirable to adjust the position of the contact times relative to the position of the alternating voltages. This can be done either by rotating the entire contact ring or the phase position of the drive synchronous motor, which is connected to the same alternating current network as the converter.
In Fig. 6 an application example of the contact tracks for a three-phase converter in a bridge circuit is shown. For the sake of clarity, the means for relieving the contacts have been left out. The contact roles of the individual phases, which are also not shown, are to be thought of as offset from one another.
The secondary windings R, S and T of the converter transformer are each connected to the positive and negative conductor of the direct current network G by a contact track. A separate contact path is provided for each phase, of which, for example, the contacts 1 'and 3' are connected to one another, so that the current in each phase is interrupted four times, as is particularly advantageous in converters for high voltage. When using the contact devices for very high currents you will make a parallel connection of the interruption points controlled simultaneously by connecting, for example, the contact pieces 1 and 3 and 1 'and 3'.
