Circuit for the transmission of ultra-high frequency vibrations, which contains a Zecher wire system with variable tuning. The invention relates to a circuit for the transmission of ultra-high frequency vibrations, which contains a Lecher wire system with variable tuning.
When transmitting ultra-high frequencies such. B. from 60 to 200 MHz and higher, the physical dimensioning of the parts of the existing Re in the circuit acts is extremely critical and you encounter difficulties in the construction and practical use of oscillation circuits. For oscillating circuits that form part of an oscillator or an amplifier and which should be tunable over a certain frequency range, the well-known parallel connection of a self-inductor and a capacitor is no longer useful.
However, it is common to use oscillation circles in such cases that have two coaxial conductors or two parallel conductors; These two types of oscillation circles are referred to below as Lecher wire systems.
These systems, in which the coordination is carried out either by means of a small variable capacitor or with the help of a sliding short-circuit bridge (the latter is used in particular in Lecher wire systems consisting of parallel conductors), however, has the disadvantage that in practice the frequency range that can be used for tuning is relatively narrow.
It has been shown that when tuning a device containing a Lecher wire system for transmitting ultra-high frequencies over a broad frequency range of about 60 to 200 MHz, the value of the tuning capacitance required to achieve a tuning change from 1 to 9 is so large, that the ratio of inductive to capacitive reactance becomes impermissibly low.
If the self-induction is changed to achieve the desired change in tuning, as is the case, for example, with a Lecher wire system consisting of two parallel conductors with a movable short-circuit bridge, the length of the conductors, especially in the vicinity of the lower frequencies of the Tuning range, practically impermissibly large In order to bring this length back to a useful value, it has already been proposed to attach a capacitor between the live ends of the parallel conductors.
This Kon capacitor can be a fixed capacitor, and the vote is then carried out by changing the length of the Lecher wire system, or the capacitor can be variable; in the latter case, the vote takes place by changing the capacitance of the capacitor. The voting can also take place by simultaneous regulation of the voting elements.
When tuning over a wide range of frequencies from about 60 to 200 MHz, the value of the capacity to be added is very large for the purpose of bringing the length of the Lecher wire system back to a practical value at 60 MHz, which is why the minimum capacity of the capacitor is so large is that at 200 MHz the ratio of inductive to capacitive reactance is inadmissibly small.
The invention aims at a circuit in which tuning elements with relatively small physical dimensions can be used without the difficulties mentioned occurring.
According to the invention, a Lecherdraht- system is used, the conductors of which are verbun at one or more suitably selected points via a capacitor to each other, and the vote is carried out with the help of a movable short-circuit bridge, which in a vote change over the entire frequency range over the ge named point or . Places moved away.
The subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail by means of two exemplary embodiments shown in the accompanying drawings. In Fig. 1, a first embodiment of a circuit according to the invention is shown schematically in a diagram.
FIG. 2 shows a variant of the Lecher wire system according to FIG. 1.
In the embodiment of FIG. 1, the Lecher wire system consists of two par allelic conductors 1 and 2, which are mutually connected at one end through the intermediary of a conductor 3, the center of which is connected to an anode voltage battery 4. The live ends of the conductors 1 and 2 are respectively with the anodes 5. 5 'of two discharge tubes 6 respectively. 6 'connected.
The grids 8 and 8 'of the tubes 6 and 6' are respectively with coupling capacitors 10. 10 'and with discharge resistors 9 respectively. 9 'connected; About these resistors is from one on one side with the cathodes 7 BEZW. 7 'of the tubes connected bias battery 11 to the grids 8 and 8' supplied with a suitable auxiliary voltage. The parts that are not essential for understanding the invention are not shown in the drawing.
The circuit can be used, for example, to amplify ultra-high frequency oscillations, which for this purpose are fed to the control grids 8 and 8 'in antiphase via the coupling capacitors 10 and 10'.
The conductors 1 and 2 are connected to each other via a capacitor 13 at suitably selected points, and the Lecher wire system is tuned with the help of a movable short-circuit bridge 12, which moves over the above points when the tuning is changed over the entire frequency range. In its simplest form, the bridge 12 is formed by a rod-shaped conductor which connects the conductors 1 and 2.
Before moving on to the description of the mode of operation of the circuit according to FIG. 1, the pigeon wire system shown in FIG. 2 is described.
This system also consists of two parallel conductors 1 and 2, which are connected at one end by means of a conductor 3 and are provided with a short-circuit bridge 12. In the execution form according to Fig. 2, the conductors 1 and 2 are not only connected to one another via a capacitor 13, but also a capacitor 13 'is provided which connects two other points of the conductors 1 and 2 to one another.
A practical embodiment of the Lecher wire system according to FIG. 2 can be obtained, for example, in that capacitor plates of a certain shape are attached to each of the two conductors, whereby any capacity distribution along the conductor can be obtained. For the sake of clarity, the remaining elements of the circuit, of which the Lecher wire system forms a part, have been left out in FIG.
From Fig. 1 it can be seen that when the jumper is in the designated position A, which coincides with the highest tuning frequency of about 200 MHz, the capacitor 13 has no influence because the effective part of the Lecher wire system is only from the anodes 5 and 5 'to the short-circuit bridge 12 he stretches.
When the bridge 12 is moved from position A to the point at which the capacitor 13 is located, essentially only the self-induction of the Lecher wire system is changed; this self-induction, together with the anode cathode capacities of the tubes 6 and 6 'and the distributed capacitance of the Lecher wire system, determines the tuning frequency. If the short-circuit bridge 12 is moved further in the direction of the conductor 3, for example after the position marked B, the capacitor 13 increases the capacitance of the Lecher wire system,
because it is now in the effective part of the Lecher wire system, which extends from the anodes 5 and 5 'to the short-circuit bridge 12. When the jumper 12 is moved in the direction of the arrow 14, the influence of the capacitor 13 on the capacitance of the Lecher wire system becomes greater and greater,
since the alternating voltage across the capacitor 13 increases as the distance between the short-circuit bridge 12 and the capacitor increases. In this latter shift, the capacity of the Lecher wire system is essentially changed. The presence of the capacitor 13 makes the ratio
EMI0003.0031
between the self-induction L and the capacitance C of the Lecher wire system, and consequently also the circuit current, is given the same value at least twice when the tuning is changed.
As has already been said, at the highest tuning frequencies, the circular capacitance corresponds to the tube capacities, increased by the low distributed capacitance of the conductors, where a favorable value of
EMI0003.0036
is achieved. At the lowest tuning frequencies, the influence of the capacitor 13 is great, and the conductor system also has a relatively large, but practically permissible length, so that in this case too a favorable value of
EMI0003.0042
is achieved.
If a steady course of the ratio
EMI0003.0043
is desired in such a way that the ratio becomes more than twice the same value, two (or more) capacitors can be arranged in appropriately chosen points of the conductors in the manner illustrated in FIG. 2.
