Equipment on skis to protect the upper edges and the surface from damage. The present invention relates to a device on skis for protecting the upper edges and the surface from damage.
For this purpose, at least two longitudinal strips projecting beyond the surface of the ski are made of a material that is more resistant to wear than the material of the ski, and means for fastening the same are provided.
These protective strips above can be placed on the skis in various ways; you can. z. B. glued, poured, sprayed on, inserted or screwed on and consist z. B. made of metal, rubber, gelluloid or another plastic, they can also be kept different colors.
In the drawing: several exemplary embodiments of the subject invention are shown.
It shows: F'ig. 1 is a plan view of a grooved ski with three protective strips at the front and three protective strips at the back, FIG. 2 is a view of a flat ski: with three continuous strips and two colored decorative inlays, FIG. 3 is a partial view of an example with four protective strips at the front and rear, FIG 4 shows a cross section along the line I-II in FIG. 1, FIG. 5 shows a cross section along the line III-IV in FIG. 2,
6 to 14 partial cross-sections of further nine exemplary embodiments, FIG. 15 a partial cross-section of another exemplary embodiment in which the protective strips are fastened by means of a metal rail mount, and FIGS. 16 and 17 partial cross-sections of two further embodiments.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 4, 1 denotes a wooden ski of a known type, the surface of which has six longitudinal strips 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 protruding above the surface, of which the strips 2-5 are the upper edges and a part the surface, the strips 6 and 7 protect the surface. The ski 1 is provided with grooves 8 dovetailed in cross section (FIG. 4) into which the lower parts of the protective strips 2, 3 and 6 are inserted.
These protective strips are made of a material that is more resistant to damage than wood, such as B. rubber, fiber, metal, celluloid or some other plastic made, prevent repelling, the softer wooden edges and damage to the very sensitive polished surfaces.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 and 5, the middle surface protection strip 9 has a rectangular cross-sectional profile and is cemented between two decorative strips 10 and 11, which consist of wood of a different color than the ski wood or of colored celluloid. The protective strip 9 serves here as a decorative strip by such. B. from white and the two trim strips 10 and 11 are made of red celluloid. The protective strips can be of different colors among themselves.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the ski 1 has four protective strips 2, 3, 12 and 13 at the front and rear. The protective strips 2 and 3 of the front and rear parts can be extended so that they extend over the entire length of the ski. This embodiment is. intended for both skis with a flat surface and skis with a grooved surface.
Fig. 6 and 7 show two execution forms with slightly differently profiled edges Schutzleis th.
In the embodiments according to Fig. G, 9, 10, 11 and 12, which make especially for protection made of plastics, such as. B. Celluloid are intended, the protective strips each consist of two different parts, namely the protruding main part 14 and the flat lower part 15. The lower part 15 is, for example, first cemented onto the ski 1 and then secured with countersunk screws or nails 16 .
According to Fig. 9, 11, 12, the lower part is cemented into a groove and with. screwed to the ski with a countersunk head wood screw. On this so be strengthened lower part, the actual protective strip 14 by means of a binding agent, for. B. cemented liquid celluloid. In this way, a flawless and simple attachment of the protective strips on the skis is achieved and neither the screws nor nails 16 used are externally visible bar.
The protective strips according to FIGS. 8 and 8 are designed in such a way that they also protrude somewhat laterally, which ensures reliable protection of the side surfaces.
In the exemplary embodiments shown in FIGS. 13 and 14, the ski 1 is also provided with grooves 17 which are dovetailed in cross section. The protection bars 18 are flat on their lower surface as shown in FIG. 13 or they are formed angularly in cross section as shown in FIG.
To assemble this type of protective strips made of celluloid, for example, the grooves 17 are first filled out with dissolved celluloid; Likewise, the contact surfaces of the protective strips are coated with somewhat dissolved cellicloid and the protective strips 18 are pressed onto them. As a result of the good solubility of the celluloid, the solid bar 18 connects immediately and properly with the semi-liquid content of the grooves 17 and results in a homogeneous piece after hardening.
In a similar way, protective strips made of rubber can be attached or. be poured.
It can also be provided protective strips that are angularly formed in cross section, with one flanges being cast into grooves on the ski.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 15, the protective strip 20, which consists for example of rubber, is held in place by a cross-sectioned dovetail-shaped metal rail mount 21, which in turn is screwed to the ski wood 1 by means of wood screws 22.
In the embodiment of FIG. 16, the protective strip 28 is widened over the side surface 24 and united with the already known running edge protector 25 to form a whole, which at the same time ensures a very good side surface protection.
Fig. 17 shows an embodiment which can be used especially in skis which are composed of different parts together. The plastic strips 26 and 27 are cemented here to wooden parts 28; Here too, for example, the grooves 29 and 30 may have been filled with semi-liquid plastic or some other well-binding cement before joining.
