Device for operating several starting devices equipped with an electric motor and battery. The invention relates to a device for operating several starting devices equipped with an electric motor and battery of different operating voltages on motor vehicles by means of an external power source.
The device according to the invention is intended to enable several starter motors of different voltages to be started automatically one after the other with the associated correct voltage from an external power source without the driver having to carry out special switching measures.
In accordance with the invention, the device consists of interdependent switches that respond to different voltages and are excited by the vehicle battery to control switches in the main circuit of the power source, through which the voltage on the connecting elements of the device is automatically set to the operating voltage of the starting device . It is advisable to design the device in such a way that connection with incorrect polarity is rendered ineffective by valves and indicated by a signal.
In the accompanying drawings, three embodiments of the subject invention are shown. It shows: FIG. 1 the circuit diagram of a starting system for two different voltage values, FIG. 2 a second circuit for two different voltage values, FIG. 3 a circuit for three different voltage values.
In Fig. 1 10 is a battery of a driving ble starting unit for 12 volt operating voltage. The battery can be charged by a generator 11 which is driven by a small gasoline engine 12. The starting device of a vehicle to be operated with the unit consists in a known manner of an electric starting motor 13 and a battery 14 which feeds the motor. The starting unit is used to drive the engines of many z.
B. to turn vehicles standing in a parking lot to save the batteries of the vehicles. In each of the feed lines 15 and 16 of the Arilassaggregates, which form parts of the main circuit, there are electromagnetically actuated main switches 17, 21 and 18, 20. The two switches are controlled by a magnetic switch 19, 25.
The magnetic coil 20 of the holder 18, 20 is connected to the negative pole of the battery 1.0 and a contact of the switch 19, 25, while the coil 21 of the switch 17, 21 is connected to the positive pole of the battery 10 and the movable switching element of the switch 18, 20 connected. The other contact of the switch 19, 25 is connected to the positive pole of the battery 10. A resistor 22 is inserted into the feed line 16. switched, which can be short-circuited by a magnetic switch 23, 26.
The actual control device of the switchgear comprises the two already mentioned magnetic switches 19, 25 and 23, 26 and the, veite.ren electromagnetically operated changeover switch 24, 28, whose contact device in the circuit of the magnetic coils 25 and 26 of the two switches 19, 25 and 23, 26 lies. These solenoids are all connected via an elec tric valve -) i to the leads 15 and 16 between the main switches and your connection ends of the leads.
While the magnetic coil 28 <les changeover switch 24, 28 is connected directly to the lead 1.i, there is a resistor 29 in the circuit of the coil 25, which is in the short-term position of the changeover switch. The coil 26, however, is a contact 30 of the U in switch 24, 28 is closed.
The solenoid 25 is measured so that it responds at a voltage of 6 volts, while the \ solenoid 28 of the switch 24 and the coil 26 of the switch 23 are only actuated at 12 volts.
The mode of operation of the system described is as follows: It is assumed that the engines of vehicles with 6 and 12 volt systems are to be started by means of the starting unit, first of all an engine with a 6 volt system. Another prerequisite for this case is that the battery 10, as mentioned above, has a voltage of 12 volts. To start the vehicle, the driver connects the connecting line 15 to the positive pole via its connecting element and the connecting line 16 to the minus pole of the vehicle system 13, 14 by means of its connecting element.
A current now flows from the car battery 14 via the contact device of the switch 24, 28 immediacy bar to the solenoid 25 and via the valve 27 back to the battery 14 and be actuated the switch 19, 25. The coil 28 is only so weakly excited that they are not able to move the changeover contact of the changeover switch 24, 28. The coil 26 remains de-energized because its circuit is interrupted by the changeover switch. By closing the contact device 19 of the switch 19, 25, the coil 20 of the switch 18, 20 is first switched on, which closes the contact device 18. which in turn closes the circuit of the coil 21, so that the contact device of the switch 17, 21 is closed.
Both power connection lines 15 and 16 are thus connected to the aggregate battery. Since the contact device of the switch 23, 26 was not closed, the resistor 22 is placed in the lead 16 and presses the voltage at the ends of the leads 15, 16 to the required value.
If an engine with a 12-volt starting device is to be turned on, the following process takes place: When connecting cables 15 and 16 to the 12-volt car battery, the coil 25 of the switch 19, 25 and the coil 28 of the Switches 24, 28 are both excited to such an extent that the contact device of switch 19, 25 is closed and changeover switch 24, 28 is switched.
By switching, on the one hand, the resistor 29 is connected in front of the coil 25 to protect it from overload, and on the other hand, the contact device of the switch 23, 26 is closed, which short-circuits the resistor 22, so that the full voltage of the Bat terie 10 acts on the starter motor 13.
Fig. 2 shows the circuit of an imple mentation form in which the voltage of the aggregate battery is divided. This circuit has compared to that of the exemplary embodiment. According to Fig. 1, the advantage that it is very simple because the changeover switch and the series resistor in the power supply line are omitted.
The battery 40 of the starting unit has, as in the embodiment according to FIG. 1, current lines 41 and 42 led away from the outer poles, which are switched off and on by magnetic switches 43, 46 and 44, 51. The battery is tapped in the middle and connected to the power line 42 by a magnetic switch 45, 47.
The two switches 43, 46 and 45, 47 are, as in the first example, by a. Magnetic switch 48, 50 controlled. The switch 44, 51, on the other hand, is operated by a changeover switch 49, 52, which in one position keeps the circuit through the coil 50 of the switch 48, 50 closed and in the other position the coil 51 of the scarf ters 44, 51 and the coil 46 of the switch 43, 46 in series between the outer poles of the battery 40 switches. The coil 50 responds at a voltage of 6 volts, while the coil 52 of the changeover switch 49, 52 only actuates the switching device at a voltage of 12 volts.
When the driver connects the starting device to a vehicle system with 6 volts operating voltage, the contact device of the switch 48, 50 is closed and the switch 45, 47 is activated first, which also closes the contact device of the switch 43, 46. . is closed. So that the two power lines 41 and 42 are connected to one half of the battery 40, so that the starting device of the vehicle with. 6 volts voltage is fed.
When connecting to a 12-volt system, the switch 49, 52 is reversed. As a result, the contact devices of the two switches 43, 46 and 44, 51 are closed, so that the voltage of the entire battery 40 at the terminals is the cause. device of the vehicle is. By switching over the switch 49, 52, the coil 50 of the switch 48, 50 is de-energized, and the switch 45, 47 therefore also remains open.
In the embodiment with the switching device according to FIG. 3, the switching elements of the two switching devices according to FIGS. 1 and 2 are combined, and further switching elements are provided which ensure equal stress on both battery halves. This device is suitable for three groups of vehicle systems that differ in terms of voltage. It has two batteries 60, 61 with 12 volts each, which are connected in series. The batteries are fed by two DC machines 62, 63 connected in series.
The power lines to be connected to the vehicle system 64. 65 and 66 are respectively by the magnetic switch 67. 68 with the outer pole of each battery and by the magnetic switch 69 respectively. 70 connected to the inner pole of each battery. In the power supply line 66 there is a magnetic switch 71, the control device of which is bridged by a resistor 72.
The magnetic switches 67, 68, 69, 70 and 71 are controlled by four solenoid operated changeover switches 73, 74, 75 and 76. The switches 73 and 74 each have two 'fixed con contacts 77 and 78 respectively. 79 and 80 and a switching arm 81 respectively. 82, on which a contact 83 respectively. 84 isolated and a contact 85 respectively. 86 conductively connected. The switching arms are respectively with coils 70a. 69a of the magnetic switch 69 respectively. 70 connected.
The coils 69a and 70a are connected to the center conductor 87 of the batteries. The con tacts 78 and 80 are each connected to an outer pole of the two batteries. The coil 67a of the magnetic switch 67 lies between the outer pole of the battery 60 and the contact member 70b of the magnetic switch 70, while the coil 68a of the 3-position network clipper 68 lies between the outer pole of the battery 61 and the contact member 69b of the switch 69. The switch 76 is. via an elec trical valve 90 with. the power supply line 66 connected.
He bc-sits also a switching arm with a contact 91 conductively connected to it and an insulated contact 92. The resting contact 93, which is to cooperate with the insulated contact, is connected to the coil 67a, the insulated contact to the coil 68a. The two coils 73a and 74a of the changeover switches 7 3 and 74 and the coil 75a of the switch 75 are connected to the stationary counter contact 94. The coil 75n is directly connected to the power supply line 6 5,
while the coil 73a to the isolated contact 8: 1 of the switch 74 and the coil 74a with your isolated contact 83 of the switch 73 are connected. The resting contacts 77 and 79 of the two switches 73 and 74 are connected to the resting contact 9: 5 of the switch 75. The coil 71a of the switch 71 is connected to the stationary counter contact 96 of the switch 7 5. on the other hand, via the electrical valve 90, it is connected directly to the power supply line 66.
The changeover switch 75 is bridged by two resistors 97 and 98. The coils 73a and 74a are dimensioned in such a way that they operate the switches at 6 volts, while the coil 75a only responds at 12 full and the coil 76a of the switch 76 only responds at 24 volts. A signal transmitter 99 is located parallel to the valve 90.
In order to avoid that the two scarf ter 73 and 74 are operated simultaneously, each of the coils 73a and 74a is respectively with an additional winding 100. 101 provided.
The two additional windings are in the connecting line 102 from the central conductor of the batteries to the junction of the two generators. This connecting line thus represents a compensating line, which, depending on the state of charge of the batteries, is flowed through by a compensating current in one or the other line, so that the additional currents are flowed through accordingly in one or the other direction and so through one of the two coils:
73n. 74n support that weaken the other. It is achieved that in each case only that switch is actuated that turns on the better charged battery.
The effect of the last described. benen switching device is basically the same as that of the first examples.
When connected to a vehicle with a 6-volt system, the switchover 73 or 74 is actuated depending on the state of charge of the two batteries 60 and 61. If z. B. the changeover switch 73 responds, the switches 67 and i 0 are closed and thus the connec tion of the power supply lines 65, 66 with the battery 60 is established. The resistance 72 remains in the power supply line 66 because the switch 71, which is controlled by the switch 75, which is only activated at 12 volts, is not closed at 6 volts.
When the switch 73 is actuated as described, the switch 74 is automatically controlled because its winding 74a is connected to the isolated contact 83 of the switch 73 and the connection of this contact with the resting contact. 7 7 is. interrupted, whereby actuation of the switch 74 is made impossible.
In the case of a 12-volt system, in addition to a yler switch 73, 74, the switch 75 also responds. As a result, on the one hand, the resistor 97 is switched in front of the coil of the switch 73 or 74 so that this coil is not overloaded, on the other hand, the switch 71 is closed, which briefly closes the resistor 72, so that the full voltage of 12 volts of the battery 60 or 61 takes effect on the vehicle system.
The switch 73 or 74 actuates, as in the first case, the switches 67, 70 respectively again at 6 volts. 69, 68.
At 24 volts the changeover switch 76 is actuated. As a result, the coils of switches 73, 74 and 75 are all switched off first. By closing the contacts 92 and 93, the coils 67a and 68a are connected in series to the outer poles of the two batteries 60 and 61. So that the batteries are now connected to the power supply lines 65, 66 in series.
Should the driver inadvertently connect the power lines 65, 66 to the vehicle system with the wrong polarity, the valve 90 prevents the passage of current to the switches; at the same time, however, the signal 99 responds and draws the driver's attention to the incorrect switching.
