Es haben beispielsweise die Anoden a. und age- genüber der Anode a, je 180 e Phasendrehung; die Anoden a., a,, a", as führen untereinander demnach gleichphasige, gegenüber den An oden a,, a3, a5, a; jedoch gegenphasige Poten tialänderungen aus.
Additional patent to main patent no. 208654. Arrangement with a nagnetron tube. According to the claim of the main patent, adjacent and high-frequency antiphase anodes are connected in pairs with a magnetron tube by a vibration system and means are provided to couple these vibration systems assigned to the anode pairs in the correct phase.
Vibration systems are also proposed as suitable means for such a phase-correct coupling according to the main patent, with a connected consumer BEZW instead of one of the vibration systems for coupling. the line leading to the consumer can be used. Furthermore, it was stated in the main patent that both the vibration systems assigned to the pairs of anodes and the vibration systems used for coupling can be designed as coordinated Lecher lines.
The invention now relates to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the arrangement according to the patent claim of the main patent and aims to improve the achievable efficiency and thus the high-frequency power output of such tubes, in particular for cm waves. In addition, according to the invention, an extraordinarily simple design of the tubes is obtained.
In tubes with 2 n anodes, this is achieved by the fact that 2 n hole systems with the anodes inside the tube also form a structural unit in which each anode of the tube with the two anodes adjacent to it:
is connected to a coordinated Lecher system each and these Lechersystems are arranged in the radial direction, extending outwards from the anodes. Here n means the number of pole pairs of the tube, in which the wall length of the generated vibrations is normally proportional to the magnetic field and inversely proportional to the anode voltage and the number of pole pairs.
Embodiments of the invention are shown schematically in the drawing, namely FIG. 1 shows the electrical equivalent circuit diagram, while an example of a constructive embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is explained with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3.
In Fig. 1 an arrangement with four pole pairs, that is, eight anodes a to a $ is shown. The cathode b can be heated indirectly by means of heating filaments not shown. The outer glass bulb of the tube, the leads to the heating wires and generally all parts of the tube that are not essential for understanding the invention have been omitted for the sake of clarity. Every two adjacent anodes are placed on a common Lechersystem, wel ches for example in the usual way. can consist of two parallel wires.
For example, the anodes a 1, a, the Lechersystem c1, the anodes a <B> _ </B>, a @, however, the Lechersystem e2. The natural frequency of these Lechersystems is now chosen so that their longest possible natural frequency is roughly equal to the frequency of the vibrations to be generated.
In the case of the Lechersystems that are worn and which are closed at their ends facing away from the anodes by the short-circuit clips d to ds, the length of each of the two parallel conductors must therefore be approximately equal to a quarter of the wavelength to be generated, if between the conductors are in a vacuum or a dielectric with a dielectric constant of about. 1 is arranged.
Instead of the registered Lecher systems, which have a voltage node at the location of the shorting bar, Leeher systems can also be used, which have a voltage bulge at their ends facing away from the anodes and must therefore have a length that is half a wave length of the one to be generated Vibrations correspond.
With 2 n anodes, 2 n throttle cable coils are also necessary in the latter case, via which the anodes are connected to the anode voltage source.
In the described arrangement, therefore, Lecher systems are preferred which have a short-circuit clip and consequently a voltage node at their ends facing away from the anodes. As can be seen from FIG. 1, this ensures that all Lechersystems and all anodes represent a coherent conductor. The power supply from the anode voltage source can then take place jointly for all anodes,
A supply line is simply applied to the short-circuit bracket 1 of one of the Lecher systems, in FIG. 1 to bracket d 1 of the Lecher system c. The consumer can be coupled to at least one of the Lecher systems by means of a line.
1 shows a galvanic coupling of the line e leading to the consumer to the Lecher system c. The coupling, g can also take place capacitively. Inductive coupling of the consumer has proven to be the best, in which a wire loop is passed near the shorting bar of one of the oscillation systems.
The line leading to the consumer can also be inductively coupled to several of the Lechersystems, for example to the Lechersystems c, and c ;, if one has a corresponding in-phase voltage distribution along the line, for example by symmetrical design of the same with respect to the 1.echersystems one 11311t.
The mode of operation of the arrangement according to FIG. 1 is now as follows: By means of the oscillation systems c ,, <I> c. ,, </I> e "c, the anodes a to ca, are each combined in pairs. The further oscillation systems e2, c. ,, ce, a phase-correct coupling between all anodes is effected in such a way that -the alternating potential of any one of the anodes with respect to an anode adjacent to it by <B> 1.80 '</B> in phase is offset.
For example, the anodes a. and opposite to the anode a, 180 e phase rotation each; the anodes a., a ,, a ", as therefore carry out in-phase changes in potential with one another, but compared to the anodes a ,, a3, a5, a;
The vibration properties of the arrangement are therefore essentially the same as in the known arrangements in which all in-phase anodes are connected in parallel by means of wire brackets and only a single vibration system between the two out-of-phase groups of wire brackets or. the anodes is placed.
The advantage of the arrangement according to the invention over these known Ma gnetronröhren is that because of the avoidance of such wire brackets, the diameter of the anode cylinder surface can be comparable to the wavelength and therefore a high useful power can be obtained even with the shortest waves.
In FIG. 2 an exemplary embodiment of the assembly of the anodes and the Lech-em systems according to the basic circuit diagram of FIG. 1 is shown schematically.
The Lechersystems and anodes are preferably worked out from a plane-parallel piece of metal f. The opposing surfaces <I> g, h </I> of each of the radially directed slits starting from the opening i each form a hole system which is short-circuited at its outer end.
The cylinder surface sections a1 to a8 running between these slots in the circumferential direction of the central opening act as anode surfaces. Particularly advantageous in the execution is the dissipation of the amount of heat generated at the anodes via the sector-shaped parts of the metal piece ..
The edge of the metal piece f can be provided with cooling fins or with outwardly leading cooling channels for a strö Mendes coolant to BEZW respectively the converted into heat loss power from the inside of the tube. Remove line.
7 shows the section k through the metal piece f containing the anodes and Lechersystems. As in FIG. 2, none of the non-relevant parts, such as the outer glass bulb, the coolant feeds and the electrical feedthroughs for anodes, cathodes and filaments, are not shown.
In the case of tubes of the type described, it has proven to be advantageous, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, if the surfaces of the anodes facing the cathode b form parts of a circular cylinder surface. Furthermore, the cathode is also preferably designed as a circular cylinder whose radius is at least equal to half the radius of the anode circular cylinder surface.
An electrostatic field applied between the anode and cathode then generates field strengths that differ by a maximum of the factor @ r 2, which improves the vibration properties of the tube.
The thickness of the metal piece f and the formation of the cathode b in the axial direction should be. In terms of magnitude equal to the diameter of the cathode and in any event smaller than half the wavelength of the vibrations to be generated. Such a dimensioning results in a simple and reliable modulation device, which consists of preferably circular end plates m, both of which are in-phase with respect to the cathode,
can receive low-frequency control voltages.
The supply line to the anode voltage source is fastened in a voltage node of one of the slot-shaped hole systems, that is to say best on the edge of the metal piece f, so that a simple and clear design results.
Another advantage of the construction described results from the small axial dimensions of the tube, whereby the dimensions for the field magnet, between the poles of which the tube is set, can be kept small in a desired manner. Because of the small axial dimensions, it is also possible to attach the wire loop for inductive coupling of the consumer outside of the glass bulb without having to worry about a weak coupling with the Lechersystem inside the tube.
