Description

Elektrofilter.

Electrostatic precipitator. The long-known electrostatic precipitators consist of a system of negatively charged wire electrodes and parallel, planar, grounded separating electrodes. The latter are in the form of tubes coaxial with the wire electrodes, or of plates or corrugated sheets. They are also known in the form of wire nets.

The subject of the present invention is an electrostatic precipitator with rod-shaped separation electrodes which are arranged parallel to the spray electrodes and whose diameter is at least so large that they do not have a glow discharge at the operational voltage. If the rod-shaped separating electrodes are designed as tubes, they can be relatively thin-walled and yet mechanically stable, so that they are light and cheap.

They allow extensive freedom in the choice of material, since tubes and rods can be made from a wide variety of metals, graphite, metallized wood, metallized porcelain, iron, and iron, so that filters for chemically highly active substances can easily be built .

A special feature of tubular electrodes is that they can be used to heat or cool the filter chamber by passing a warm or cold liquid or gas through. In particular, the following effects: cooling condensation of gases to vapors. This is important because gases cannot be separated, but vapors can.

The capacity of such filters can be smaller than those of the known plate and tube filters with the same performance, which affects a lower current load when using pulsating DC voltage.

The mutual arrangement of the electrodes is apparent from FIGS. 1 and 2, wel che show two examples of cross sections through the electrode system. 1 are the negative wire electrodes, 2 are the rod or tube electrodes.
