bemessen.

Projection receivers for television purposes. The invention relates to a projection receiver for television purposes.
For large projection devices in which the luminous image of a cathode ray tube is shown enlarged on the viewing screen by means of projection optics, two types of cathode ray tubes have so far been used. In one type, the luminous image was projected onto a translucent screen placed inside the cathode ray tube, and the light shining through the luminescent screen was captured by projection optics.
This resulted in a significant loss of light in the fluorescence layer and in the transparent support of this layer. In addition, the requirement of transparency also set a limit for the surface loading of the fluorescent screen (watt / cm), because the glasses previously used as carriers of the fluorescent layer soften above a certain temperature, and even when artificial cooling is used, e.g. B.
by fans, the surface loading and thus the brightness of the picture could not be increased in a desirable way. These difficulties are avoided with the second type of projection tube,
in which the projection screen is inclined to the axis of the cathode ray and the light emitted from the front side of the fluorescent screen is guided past the beam generation system to the side of the projection optics. This results in significant advantages in terms of increasing the surface loading due to the use of metallic supports for the fluorescent layer,
since now the condition of transparency for the carrier material has come to an end. On the other hand, there are generally difficulties respectively. a significant additional effort because the transmitted television picture is distorted in a trapezoidal shape on the fluorescent screen. Numerous methods and arrangements have been proposed to rectify these distortions electrically (modulation of the tilting amplitude, inclination of the deflection plates) or by means of optical aids (prisms).
These equalization arrangements must be dimensioned very precisely and therefore make the projection device considerably more expensive.
It forms the subject of the invention, through a particularly expedient spatial arrangement of the individual construction elements, the advantages of the second-mentioned projection method with inclined fluorescent screens to be used without needing electrical auxiliary devices or additional optical equalization devices by giving a clear rule as to how the individual angles must be dimensioned in order to achieve a complete Kompen sation of the distortions with the given dimensions of the cathode ray tube and with a given projection optics.
According to the invention, the tangent of the angle between the normal surfaces established in the center of the projection screen and the optical axis between the center of the screen and the projection axis becomes the same

measured. Here, <I> f </I> denotes the focal length of the projection optics, <I> a </I> the angle between the cathode beam axis of the projection tube and between the surface normal established in the center of the fluorescent screen, e the distance between the fluorescent screen center and the ideal deflection plane of the cathode ray.
It is essential here that the normal areas on the center of the fluorescent screen deviate only slightly from the optical axis between the fluorescent screen center and the projection optics, preferably by less than 580 '.
In one embodiment of the invention, the projection screen is designed as a lenticular screen and the individual raster elements are given such a scattering characteristic that the height of the room from which the screen is viewed with uniform brightness is constant from a minimum distance for each viewing distance : is.
In many cases it will be advantageous to arrange the loudspeaker for reproducing the accompanying sound in the interior of the ap- parategehättses so that the sound waves emitted by the loudspeaker first hit the projection screen serving as a sound mirror and then flow into the viewer or the audience. Auditorium to be reflected.
If the fluorescent material of the fluorescent screen is applied to a metallic base, then it is advisable to arrange a pin on the outside of the tube on this metallic base, which is used to hold the tube. There at.
Cathode ray tubes a relatively high anode voltage is applied to the fluorescent screen, it is advisable to use the pin provided to hold the tube for supplying the anode voltage, as this saves a glass melting in the base and the one at the other end the base located in the tube can now be designed more easily constructively. As a result of the elimination of the high-voltage line through the actual tube base, the risk of flashovers in the base is avoided.
It is advantageous to ensure a good connection between the pin and the metallic fluorescent screen. one end of the pin: to be widened like a disk and to be connected to the base by spot welding.
In the following the invention is described with reference to the exemplary embodiments darstel low figures. It shows: FIG. 1 a schematic representation of a television projection receiver according to the invention, FIG. and FIG. 8 the optical conditions for the illumination of the auditorium, FIG. 4 the arrangement of the loudspeaker in the housing.
In Fig. 1, a cathode ray projection tube is arranged in the chest-shaped Ge housing 1, which with the help of optics 3 with the focal length f on a projection screen 4 designs a television picture.
The cathode ray tube has at 5 a beam generation system indicated schematically in the drawing, and the electron beam, which is intensity-controlled in a manner known per se, is transmitted line by line with the aid of the deflection plates 6 and the image deflection coils (not shown), in accordance with the television transmission standard Moved over the fluorescent screen 7.
This fluorescent screen is designed as a metal plate, which is connected in a vacuum-tight manner to the glass bulb of the cathode ray tube. The metal plate carries the fluorescent substance on its inside. On the outside of the metal screen - preferably in the middle of the screen - a metal pin 8 is attached, which fits into the base plate 9 in a corresponding manner.
The metal pin: serves on the one hand for centering the tube, both when manufacturing the tube as a reference point and when adjusting the tube in the housing with respect to the optical axes of the mirror and lens system. The base plate 9 consists of insulating material and is rotatable or in a suitable manner. arranged pivotably in order to bring the cathode ray tube into the desired position with the aid of adjusting screws 10.
The angle a is included between the surface normal n established in the center of the fluorescent screen and the axis of the cathode ray, while the distance between the center of the fluorescent screen and the center of the ideal deflection plane is e.
The ideal deflection plane is that plane perpendicular to the cathode ray axis in which the deflecting force acting on the cathode ray is intended to be effective.
If the beam deflection device is designed in such a way that the two deflection systems are effective in different planes, then it means the distance between the screen center (point of intersection of the cathode beam axis with the screen) and the deflection system whose deflection amplitude is caused by the due to the inclination of the fluorescent screen:
conditional trapezoidal effect is changed. a and e determine the size of the trapezoidal effect known per se in oblique projection. Due to the special dimensioning of the projection optics 3 (focal length f) and the special position of the projection screen 4 (angle y between the surface normal n2 and the optical axis a)
the trapezoidal distortion of the television image on the projection screen 7 is compensated for in such a way that an undistorted, rectangular image is produced on the projection screen for a viewer who looks at the projection screen in the direction A.
Fig. 2 shows schematically a television receiver, in which the running of the fluorescent screen of a cathode ray tube ent resulting image through an objective 14 via intermediate mirrors 15 and 16 on the Projek tion screen 17 is mapped. The distortion is compensated for as indicated above. The screen formed as a concave mirror m @ t lens raster 17%. tzrd: e, if it were a smooth concave mirror, generate an image of the objective 14 at the point 18.
As a result of the scattering of the egg grid elements forming the surface of the screen, the screen scatters the z. B. at its upper edge incident light in the solid angle 19 and the incident on the lower edge in the solid angle 20. In the hatched area of the room 21 you can see from: all points the screen over the entire surface with the same brightness. It is essential that the lines 2 ': 2 and 23 run practically parallel, i. H. that the illuminated room has a constant height 25 from a distance 24 from the screen.
The arrangement is also made such that the distance 24 corresponds to the minimum viewing distance mentioned above, for which the ratio of the image height to the distance is approximately 1: 5.
In order to accommodate the long light path between the lens 14 and the screen 17 in the receiver under these conditions, the deflecting mirror \ 15 and 16 are seen before.
In order to restrict the viewing from the side as little as possible, the lateral spread is optionally extended to an angle of <B> 90 '</B> or more. The size of this angle is limited by the fact that if the view is too oblique, the image on the screen is distorted too much.
If one takes the size of the lens into consideration, and this is particularly necessary with a small distance between the lens and the screen and when using lenses with a relatively large diameter, it can be seen that according to FIG Streuwin angle ss changed the situation compared to that shown in FIG.
With larger lens diameters, the angle / I is quite in the order of magnitude of the scattering angle of the grid elements. The result is that the entire picture can only be viewed with uniform brightness in the smaller, heavily hatched part of the room, and that this room decreases in height with increasing distance behind point 18. There is also an edge zone, which is weakly hatched in FIG. 3, in which the brightness decreases more and more towards the outside. Because every relatively large lens image is covered more and more by the edge of the grid element.
It is therefore advantageous either to increase the scattering angle of each grid element by the angle, B, or to increase it. 3, an edge drop in brightness, which is due to the size of the lens, is allowed up to 50%.
This observation shows that an enlargement of the objective diameter increases the brightness, but at the same time enlarges the zone of the drop-off of the brightness. It is advisable, even with such a decrease in brightness at the edge, to keep the zone of the room in which there is not yet a decrease in brightness constant for every viewing distance.
