Thermal power plant for driving vehicles. The invention relates to a thermal power plant for driving vehicles, in which the useful power is delivered by at least one gas turbine and in which a special reverse turbine is provided for the purpose of reversing, and consists in that each of the non-power-delivering turbine (z.
B. reverse turbine when driving forward), which is completely separated from the rest of the work process by closing organs, sealing steam is supplied to its shaft seals and that a negative pressure is maintained in the housing of the non-output turbine. A condenser is expediently provided which can be brought into connection with the housing of the gas turbine that does not emit power and in which a vacuum is maintained.
Furthermore, a steam generator can be provided, to which the exhaust gases from the exhaust gas turbine of a charging group are fed to generate the sealing steam.
The fact that a negative pressure is maintained in the housing of the non-output gas turbine, the ventilation losses of this turbine are reduced to a minimum, since it then works at a pressure that is significantly lower than its normal operating pressure. Since a very small amount of steam is required to maintain this negative pressure, both the steam generator and. the capacitor is also not very extensive auxiliary equipment.
On ships where steam is mostly needed anyway, the installation of a special steam generator can generally be ignored at all, since the small amount of steam required as sealing steam can easily be taken from the rest of the steam network.
Even though the invention can be used in all systems with a reverse turbine in which the useful power is output by a gas turbine (i.e. pure gas turbine systems as well as propellant gas generator systems), it is of particular importance for gas turbine systems in which part of the working medium carries out a circuit under positive pressure.
In such charged gas turbine systems, the volumes to be processed are relatively small, so that the attachment of a reverse turbine is a much simpler problem in terms of construction than in systems that have to process larger volumes.
An embodiment of the subject invention is shown in the drawing. In Fig. 1, the scheme of such a supercharged gas turbine system is shown with a reverse turbine. The compressor 1 is driven by the gas turbine 2 and is also connected to an electric motor 3, which is used to start the system. The forward turbine 4 and the reverse turbine 5 are coupled to the propeller 9 via a gear 8.
The air compressed in the compressor 1 reaches the regenerator 11 via the line 10, which is equipped with the heat exchange surface 12. From here, the air reaches the heat exchange surface 14 of the heat generator 15, which is equipped with the burner 16, via the line 13. After heating the air. this flows through the line 17 into the gas turbine 2, which is used to drive the compressor 1. The working medium (air) arrives via the line 18 either via the line 19 to the forward turbine 4 or via the line 20 to the reverse turbine 5.
The line 19 can be closed by a shut-off element 21 and the line 20 by a shut-off element 22. That of the turbines 4 respectively. 5 incoming working fluid flows through the lines 23 respectively. 24 to the regenerator 11, where it gives off part of its heat to the freshly compressed working medium (air). The line 23 is closed by a shut-off device 25 and the device 24 by a shut-off device 26. The working medium flows from the regenerator 11 through a cooler 28, which is equipped with a cooling coil 29, via the line 30 back into the compressor 1.
A part of the forward or Air coming from the reverse turbine reaches the burner 16 via the line 27 and serves as combustion air for the fuel supplied to the burner 16. After they have given off part of their heat to the working medium coming from the regenerator 11 and flowing through the heat exchange surface 14, the resulting combustion gases are fed via the line 31 into the exhaust gas turbine 32 of the supercharging group 61.
After complete expansion of these combustion gases, they pass through the line 33 into the open. The gas turbine 32 drives the compressor 34, which sucks in fresh air from the environment through the line 35. The compressed air by the compressor 34 flows through the line 36 together with the working medium coming from the regenerator via the cooler 28 and the line 30 in the compressor 1. The electric machine 37 of the supercharger 61 serves to balance the power between the turbine 32 and the compressor 34.
In Fig. 2, the forward turbine 4 and reverse turbine 5 are shown in detail. The working medium coming from the gas turbine 2 (FIG. 1) enters the turbine through the inlet connector 38, the blading 39 flows through it and leaves the gas turbine through the outlet connector 40. The rotors 41 and 42 of the gas turbines 4 and 5 are mounted in the bearings 43.
Between the blades 39 and the bearings 43 are the labyrinth stuffing boxes 44, which are equipped with annular grooves 45. These annular grooves 45 are supplied from the line 46 via the shut-off devices 47 and the lines 48 sealing steam. The housings 49 and 50 of the gas turbines 4 and 5 are connected via lines 51 and shut-off devices 52 to a condenser 53 which is equipped with a heat transfer surface 54.
The condenser 53 is supplied with coolant via line 55 and directed away via line 56. The condensate falling in the condenser 53 reaches the condensate pump 58 via the line 57 and is conveyed to the outside by the same. A vacuum is maintained in the condenser 53, by virtue of the fact that any air that may occur is sucked off by the jet apparatus 59 via the line 60.
