Permanent magnet system for magneto-electric machines. Permanent magnet systems for magneto-electric machines are already known, in which magnets and pole shoes are arranged in an old fashion and which are held together by radial and tangential pressure.
To he generation of this pressure one previously had to use special clamping means, for example screws, which engage in the pole pieces and pull the pole pieces and thus also the magnets to the housing wall Made in such a way that the magnets and the pole shoes are held together only by the clamping effect of the housing made of non-magnetizable material. In this way, all additional fastening means for the magnets and pole pieces can be dispensed with.
This tensioning effect can be generated by pressing the magnets and pole pieces into the housing made of non-magnetic metal, which then pulls the magnets and pole pieces together like a tension band. One can also proceed in such a way that the magnets and pole shoes are first joined together in a form and then pressed or poured with the material intended to form the housing. The housing formed in this way then exerts the tensioning effect on the magnets and pole shoes due to the shrinkage that occurs when it cools.
The contact surfaces between the magnets and pole pieces do not need to have any projections or depressions, but can be made smooth. The end faces of the magnets resting against the pole pieces can be made parallel to one another and flat, so that these end faces can easily be brought to the exact size by grinding. This is particularly important because the high-quality magnetic steels used to achieve high performance are very hard and difficult to machine. The contact surfaces between the magnets and pole shoes can, however, also run after cylinder surfaces.
In this case, the end faces can also be machined by a simple grinding process.
The pole pieces can be widened to improve the magnetic flux after the armature on their armature facing surfaces. The lugs thus formed on the side surfaces of the pos shoes then form stops which determine the radial distance between the magnets and the central axis of the magnet system.
The subject of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawings in exemplary embodiments, namely show: Figs. 1 and 2 a first embodiment, namely Fig. 1 a section along the line AA of FIG. 2, Fig. 2 a section along the line BB in FIGS. 1, 3 and 4, further embodiments. In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, four magnets 1 and four soft iron pole pieces 2 are arranged in the housing 3 made of non-magnetizable mate rial. The pole shoes 2 are rods from drawn profile cut to length.
The magnets are made of an aluminum-nickel-steel alloy and are separated from the cast bars by grinding or pressed from powdered magnetic material mixed with a binding agent and ground parallel to the side surfaces that come into contact with the pole pieces. Accordingly, the surfaces 4 of the pole pieces 2 run towards the center point of the housing at an angle to one another. The contact surfaces of the magnets and the pole shoes are completely smooth and flat. The pole pieces are still provided with approaches 5 in the form of pole horns that are widened towards the anchor to increase the magnetic flux.
The sentences 5 also serve the magnets as stops that determine the radial distance between the magnets and the central axis of the magnet system.
When assembling the magnet system, the procedure is such that the magnets 1 and the pole shoes 2 are placed on an offset part of a punch and are pressed into the housing 3 with the aid of this punch. The tensioning effect exerted by the housing moves the pole shoes radially inward, whereby the radial and tangential pressure needed to fix the magnets and pole shoes is generated.
The magnet system of FIG. 3 also consists of four magnets made of an aluminum-nickel steel alloy and four pole shoes made of soft iron, which are pressed into the housing made of non-magnetizable metal. The magnets 6 and the pole pieces 7 run on their contact surfaces 8 according to cylindrical surfaces, and these surfaces have the same curvature diameter on both Tei len. The processing of the magnets can bezw by simply grinding round 'rods with approximately rectangular cross-section. Pieces follow. The pole shoes 7 are expediently immediately punched in the correct shape.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, which illustrates a magnet system especially intended for ignition generators, a non-magnetizable metal, which forms the housing 8, is cast around the magnets 6 and around the pole shoes 7. The housing 8 can also be manufactured in such a way that molding compound is pressed around the magnets 6 and the pole shoes 7. The poured metal respectively. the molding compound shrinks when it cools and exerts the radial and tangential pressure on these parts, which is used to fix the magnets and pole shoes.
Also in the embodiment according to FIG. 4, the contact surfaces between the magnets and the pole pieces run according to cylinder surfaces.
The holes 9 provided in the magnet system according to FIG. 4 in the pole pieces 7 serve to receive pins and etch on which are provided on the press or casting mold, so that in this way the system is and before the overpressing. Casting can be centered exactly. When using lamellar pole pieces, hollow rivets are expediently used to unite the individual lamellae, which then form the holes 9. The pins or lugs intended for engagement in the holes 9 are advantageously arranged to be displaceable in the mold, so that the magnets 6 can be clamped between the pole pieces 7 by moving the centering pins.
When the system assembled in this way is being cast around and pressed around, the pins then allow the radial movement of the pole shoes that occurs as the material shrinks unimpeded.
The invention can be used in particular for the production of bicycle alternators and ignition alternators.
The magnet system can be used both as a stator, that is to say stationary, and as a rotor, that is to say revolving.
