Description

Weehselzeichenanor dnung.

Phrase arrangement. Variable sign systems are known in which, by alternately illuminating glare chambers arranged in a certain way, different signs, e.g. B. letters or numbers are displayed in neon letters.

Furthermore, alternating character systems are known in which the desired characters are designed as apertures, with the aperture of the character to be mapped by means of an electromechanical switching device in front of a light source with a lens system and pushed the characters on a screen, for. B. a frosted glass window is shown.

The former devices have the disadvantage that one is bound to certain character shapes, since a certain number of blind chambers are used in a fixed arrangement for the reproduction of all characters.

The second version requires complicated and expensive switching devices to move the diaphragms, which easily give rise to malfunctions and work noisily. The present invention avoids both of these shortcomings. The alternating character arrangement according to the invention is characterized in that each character to be displayed is assigned a screen and a light source and that the screens and light sources are fixed and arranged in such a way that the image of each character appears at the same point on a collecting screen.

In the accompanying drawing, which represents an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, 1, 1 a and 1 b mean the aperture of the desired characters, for. B. the numbers and letters. Behind each diaphragm there is an approximately point-shaped light source 2, 2ca and 2b, e.g. B. a focus lamp. The light sources are arranged behind the screens in such a way that the image of each character created on the screen 3 is visible at the same point on the screen, with only the light source assigned to the desired character shining. Here, the light can be collected by one or more lenses before it hits the screen.

Claims (1)

Claim: alternating character arrangement, characterized in that a screen and a light source are assigned to each character to be displayed and that the screens and light sources are fixed and arranged in such a way that the image of each character appears at the same point on a collecting screen. SUBSTANTIAL CLAIM: Alternating character arrangement according to patent claim, characterized in that the light is collected with lenses before it hits the screen for better utilization of the lighting technology.
