Rollenlager.
Roller bearings. The present invention has the purpose of the lubrication between the roller ends and the guide flange BEZW. the Füh approximately flanges of such roller bearings to improve ver in which the roles are guided by the roller ends against one or more flanges. The roller bearing according to the invention is characterized in that the working surface of the roller end is a rotational surface with a curved generation, and that the guide surface of the flange is shaped and dimensioned in relation to it in such a way that the mathematical point of contact between the roller ends and The guide flange lies in the unloaded state and the roller is in a symmetrical position in a plane containing the axis lines of the roller and the bearing,
and that the surfaces adjoin one another so closely that when the bearing is running, a lubricant film is generated that extends and carries over the greater part of the projection of the working surface of the roller end onto the flange surface.
Some embodiments of the roller camp according to the invention are illustrated on the attached drawings.
1 shows a section through part of a tapered bearing ring and through a roller that cooperates therewith, the guide surface of the flange and the Rol lenende being spherical and the mathematical point of contact being located on the roller axis, FIG. 2 shows a part of the same Bearing ring with the roller seen from the end, Fig.
3 and 4 corresponding views of a bearing in which the mathematical contact between the roller end and the flange is located approximately in the center of gravity of the work surface, FIG. 5 shows a view corresponding to FIGS. 2 and 4, but where the contact is between The roller and flange follow a radial line, FIG. 6 is a view in the direction of arrows VI-VI in FIG. 1, with the roller in a symmetrical position and FIG. 7 on a larger scale, a corresponding view with the roller in an inclined position.
In the bearing of Fig. 1, the bearing inner ring 1 is provided with a guide or pressure flange 2, the guide and pressure surface 3 has the shape of a spherical zone, the spherical center 1 is located on the bearing axis 5. The end. 7 of the roller 6 also represents part of a sphere which has its center in FIG. The radius of the sphere at the end of the roll is therefore shorter than that of the guide flange. although the difference between the radii in the figure is significantly exaggerated to more clearly show the nature of the touch. The mathematical contact point between the end of the roller and the flange is on the line connecting the two centers of curvature 4 and B.
This connecting line 9 simultaneously forms the axis of rotation of the roller 6 and intersects the roller end and the flange surface at point 10, which is the mathematical point of contact between the two surfaces. Since the two surfaces are spherical, one having a shorter radius of curvature than the other, if elastic deformations in the bearing parts under pressure are ignored, the contact will be a mathematical r point. The roller 6 shown in Fig. 1 has a conical outer surface. The acute angle of the tapered roller and the inclination of the runway 11 are selected so that the cone tip lies on the bearing axis, where the roller and the runway 11 simply roll off.
In this case, the cone tip coincides with the center 4 for the radius of curvature of the spherical guide surface 3.
3 and 4 show corresponding views of a bearing in which the surfaces lying opposite one another are at least spherical surfaces. but where the height of the flange \? decreased and the point of contact between the roller and flange against the bearing center is carried into it. The center of curvature 4 of the spherical Füh approximate surface 3 is as before on the bearing axis 5. The mathematical contact point 10, however, no longer loves on the pollen axis 9, but approximately in the focus of the projection of the working surface of the roller end on the guide flange.
The center of curvature 8 of the spherical roller end 7 is located such that the connecting line 13 between points 4 and 8 meets the roller end and the flange at the desired contact point 10. The cone tip of the roller is at point 14, where the roller axis 9 and the bearing axis 5 intersect one another, which is why in this case, too, pure rolling is achieved during the movement of the roller. The point of contact between surfaces 3 and 7 becomes a mathematical point, as in the embodiment already described.
In the embodiments described above, it has been assumed that the surface of the guide flange forms a spherical zone. This surface can, however, form part of a torus, for example, which is generated by rotating an arc 15 around the bearing axis 5, the center of which coincides with the center of curvature 8 of the spherical end of the roller, and whose radius is equal to Ab - Stand between points 8 and 12 is.
In this case, full contact is achieved with the two surfaces in a radial plane through the bearing axis. The contact conditions in the circumferential direction of the bearing along the flange are, however, consistent with the surfaces already described, and the contact is thus along a mathematical line 16 in a plane containing both the bearing axis 5 and the roller axis 9 with a symmetrical position of the roller lies. This contact line is illustrated in FIG.
An alternative embodiment is obtained when the flange surface 3 has the shape of a cone generated by the rotation of a straight line 20 around the bearing axis 5, the line 20 being tangent to the spherical surface 7 of the roller end at the point of contact 10. In this case, the mathematical contact takes place at a point located at 10 in FIG.
Fig. 6 shows a partial view of the bearing of FIG. 1 in a plane along the roller axis at right angles to a plane containing the bearing axis and roller axis, and seen in the direction indicated by arrows IV-IV in FIG. The figure shows the roller in a symmetrical position, which is why the bearing axis 5 and the roller axis 9 coincide in the figure. The mathematical point of contact between the guide flange 3 and the roller end 7 is at point 10 on the roller axis.
Since the radius for the spherical end surface 7 of the roller, which is equal to the distance between points 8 and 10, is shorter than the radius of the spherical surface 3, which is equal to the distance between points 4 and 10, so is the mathematical Contact, as mentioned above, a mathematical point, and with a symmetrical position of the roller, as illustrated in Fig. 6, there are weakly wedge-shaped spaces between the roller end and the guide flange.
The thickness of the wedge-shaped spaces is, as can be seen in the drawing, significantly exaggerated, which means that the difference between the radius of the end of the roll and that of the guide surface, i.e. the distance between points 4 and 8, is significantly greater is than in reality. The wedge-shaped spaces between Rol lenende and guide flange also allow the creation of a lubricant film between the interacting surfaces, regardless of which of the directions of movement indicated by the double arrow 17, the movement of the roller takes place relative to the bearing ring.
The interacting surfaces are therefore always very well lubricated, and the possibility of metallic contact occurring due to incomplete lubrication is reduced to a minimum.
The role will only exceptionally men take the symmetrical position shown in Fig. 6. In general, when the roller is moving, the roller axis will be tilted somewhat, in such a way that a stable equilibrium is created. Such a position of the role is illustrated in Fig. 7, which is drawn on a larger scale than the other figures. In this figure it is assumed that the roller is moving relative to the flange in the direction indicated by arrow 18.
Since the surfaces 3 and 7 are shaped and dimensioned in relation to one another in such a way that wedge-shaped spaces are always present between the surfaces, regardless of which position the roller assumes under the influence of the forces acting on it and otherwise determined by the design of the bearing, a lubricant film will thus form between the surfaces, the pressure distribution within the film, if it is formed correctly, being such that an inclination, as shown in FIG. 7, arises.
In other words, the front gap with respect to the direction of movement of the roller relative to the flange is expanded, while the rear inter mediate space closes somewhat. At the same time, the mathematical contact point, which is in a symmetrical position of the roller in a plane that holds both the bearing axis and the roller axis ent, shifts slightly backwards and takes the position indicated by number 110 in FIG. 7, for example . Point 110 is also indicated in FIGS. 2 and 4.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 5, the contact line 16 shifts in a similar manner and assumes, for example, the position designated by the numeral 116.
When the warehouse is stationary, the Rol len can assume any position within the inclination limits determined by the type of bearing. If one thinks that a roller, when the bearing is started up in a direction which causes a movement of the roller 6 relative to the flange 3 in the direction indicated by the arrow 19 in FIG. 7, assumes the position shown in FIG. 7, so the inclined position of the roller is thrown around with correct lubrication, so that the conditions are analogous to those already described in connection with those in FIG.
The fact that a stable equilibrium occurs can easily be seen from a comparison of the roller with the block of a block sliding bearing. As is known, such a block assumes a stable equilibrium position under the effect of the frictional force acting in the opposite direction of movement, caused by the bearing pressure at right angles to it, and the reaction force in the support point of the block, which is slightly in front of the center of gravity of the work surface is in the direction of movement of the block. Corresponding conditions occur in the case of a roller whose effectively working part of the end surface lies in the direction of movement 1.8 of the roller relative to the flange in front of point 110.
The resultant of the hydrodynamic forces acting in the effective work surface lies in a plane that contains the points of contact between the roller and the bearing, ie a little behind the center of gravity of the effective work surface. In the case of roller guide designs, where a mathematical contact between the end of the roller and the flange up to the roller edge is possible, however, if the roller is in such an incorrect position, the roller edge will scrape the lubricant away from the flange, so that the lubrication is incomplete, which means that metallic contact with these parts and associated disturbances arise. Such a design also does not allow a stable equilibrium position of the role.
In all the figures, both the inclination and the difference between the shape of the surfaces have been significantly exaggerated. In reality, the maximum skew angle is no more than a few minutes. and the maximum distance 21 between the surfaces in Fig. 6 with a symmetrical position of the roller does not exceed approximately 0.003 times the maximum diameter of the working surface of the roller end.
As an example of suitable arrangements of the interacting surfaces, it should be mentioned that when tests are carried out on a normally loaded bearing with a spherical flange surface and spherical roller end and a diameter of the working surface of the roller end of around 45 mm and with a maximum distance between the interacting surfaces with symmetrical Position of the roller in an unloaded state of about 0.02 mm, good results have been achieved. The working surface of the roller end in the bearing in question had a radius of curvature which was 98.5 '' r 'of that of the flange surface and was 1, 5' 'o smaller than the radius of curvature of the latter.
When the bearing is running, a film of lubricant is obtained which extends over the greater part of the projection from the working surface of the roller end to the flange surface. The work surface of the roll end is understood to mean that part of the roll end surface that is processed as a tra lowing surface, that is, minus bevels on the roll edges and any recesses in the middle of the roll end.
The fact that the working surface of the roll represents a surface of revolution with a curved generation shifts. The mathematical point of contact gradually changes when the roller inclination changes, and the roller will therefore always assume the equilibrium position determined by the pressure distribution in the lubricant film and other forces acting on the same, without the risk of metallic contact between the end of the roller and the guide flange.
The above embodiments extend to roller bearings with tapered Rol len and tapered raceways on the bearing rings. A number of other embodiments of the roller bearing according to the invention can of course be envisaged. The roller bearing can also be, for example, a self-adjusting roller bearing, in which the lateral surfaces of both the runways and those of the rollers have curved heights. The bearings can be designed to take on radial, axial and combined loads.
The roller bearing can be seen ver with cooperating flanges on the two bearing rings, or the rollers can be guided between two flanges, as is the case, for example, in cylindrical roller bearings. In the latter case, for manufacturing reasons, the flanges are usually made flat, but they can also have curved generatrix, while the working surface of the roller end is a surface of revolution with a curved generatrix. The working surface of the end of the roll or the guide surface of the flange, or both, can fer ner consist of several merging surfaces of rotation.
Here, the surfaces can be surfaces of revolution with constantly (permanently) curved generators that gradually merge into conical or flat surfaces, in such a way that the lubrication properties mentioned above are retained.
