Zirkel.
Circle. For the use of the known insert and pointed compasses, it is necessary for larger compass openings to place the attachment links (pencil or pen insert and point element) as perpendicular as possible to the attachment surface in order to prevent the points from slipping and thus, even with moderate pressure on the instrument to achieve sharp and fluid lines on the surface when using a drawing insert. Up to now, this adjustment of the attachment links has been done by hand, is time-consuming and imprecise.
The subject matter of the present invention now forms a compass that allows automatic adjustment of the contact members in the perpendicular right position.
According to the invention, the compass is characterized in that each compass arm has a link arm articulated at one end to the compass head and at the other end to an outward extension of a connecting link that acts parallel to the compass axis, that the position and distance of the articulation points on the compass arm with respect to those are chosen on the link arm so that they together form a joint parallelogram,
due to the fact that the parallel position to the circular nose of the attachment link on the drawing pad itself is maintained at every opening width of the compass.
In the accompanying drawings, some embodiments of the subject invention are shown.
F sharp. 1 shows a functional diagram of the compass in two positions; 2 to 12 show examples in front view, partly in the open position, partly in the closed position and with partly omitted parts, and FIG. 13 shows a section on an enlarged scale along the line a-b in FIG. 12.
1 and 2, 1 and 2 denote the compass arms and 3 denote the compass head with handle 4. At two pivot points 5, 6 arranged symmetrically to the axis of the compass handle on the compass head, link arms 7, 8 are U-shaped cross-sections articulated, which act at 51, 61 on outwardly directed projections 9, 10 of the attachment members 11, 12 of the circle.
The parts connecting these hinge points 5, 6, 51, 61 together form a joint parallelogram (see FIG. 1). The U-shaped cross-section having handlebar arms 7, 8 reach over when the circle is closed with their legs partially the circle arms 1, 2. Since the circle is given a pleasing, slim shape. The link arms end at their articulation points on the compass head in tooth segments 13, 14, which mesh over the pivot 15 of the compass arms and so with a uniform displacement of the link arms BEZW. Ensure pivoting of the contact members with respect to the symmetry axis of the circle.
Fig. 3 shows an embodiment in which the link arms 17 having tooth segments 16 at their articulation point mesh with the thread of a screw bolt 18 of an adjusting screw 19. The disk-shaped .Schraubenkopf protrudes laterally over the head plates 20 of the compass and can be detected for the purpose of rotating and adjusting the compass arms. In this example too, the link arms have a U-shaped cross section.
According to the embodiment shown by FIG. 4, the link arms 21 are of solid cross section and are articulated at 22, 23 on the compass head 24. From this he stretches in the circular axis a straight guide 26 provided with a slot 25 in the opposite direction to the handle 4, in which the common pivot pin 7 of two link arms 29 connected to movement with the compass arms 28 can be moved and locked.
The straight line also aims at the uniform opening of the compass arms in relation to the symmetry axis of the compass, where the arms can be set to a certain opening width (see FIG. 1). FIG. 5 shows an embodiment in which link arms 30 of solid transverse cut at their articulation points on the compass head end in tooth segments 31 that mesh with each other.
Fig. 6 shows how the compass arms themselves are formed at their articulation points 33 as ten segments 32 and come together men. Here, too, there is an even transfer of the movement to the contact members of the circle.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 7, the circular arms pivotable about the common hinge axis 32 are designed disc-shaped at their steering point (33). Two guide arms 36 pivotable about a common pin 34 and displaceable in a bore 35 of the Zir kelgriffes each engage the disc-shaped end of a compass arm at 37 and form a smaller or larger angle with each other depending on the opening width of the compass arms.
When the compass is closed, the arms 36 move against one another and overlap when the compass arms are touched. The purpose of this straight-line guidance, like that according to FIGS. 1 and 4, is the uniform opening of the compass arms with respect to the symmetry axis of the compass.
As FIG. 6 shows, can be attached to a ver in the opposite direction to the compass handle running arm 38 of the compass head, on which a scale reproducing the angular opening of the compass arms in mm. is provided. More precisely, a threaded bow rope with a fine adjustment slit seated on it and with a machined surface, which surface has a scale, can be attached to a compass arm. while on the opposing arm this bow piece sits over bridging visual line with an adjustment mark, wherein.
the desired angular opening of the compass arms can be ordered and fixed by regulating the fine adjustment screw, screw nut on the scale.
By Fig. 8, a Ausführungsbei is shown game, in which on the compass head a provided on a compass arm 60 tooth segment 61 with a tooth segment 6 \? of the link arm 63 of the second circular arm 64 meshes.
Likewise, two toothed segments of the other compass arms, arranged behind the described ones on the same pin on the compass head, mesh in opposite directions, so that when the angular position of the compass arms is changed, the movement is transferred simultaneously and evenly to the attachment members 65.
In a further embodiment of the compass shown in FIGS. 9 and 10, this is provided with a fine adjustment device for the attachment members.
The link arms 40 of this circle, which are U-shaped in cross section, end, like those according to FIG. 5, at their articulation points on the circle head in toothed segments 41 and mesh with one another. Arms 43 extending from these segments have toothed arches 44 directed towards one another, which mesh with a spiral toothing 45 on the underside of a central grip disk 48 guided in the grip head 46 of the compass and pressed against the toothed arch by a compression spring 47.
This grip disc protrudes laterally over the head plates of the compass head and can be gripped for the purpose of rotation. It is used to actuate the fine adjustment of the compass according to the selected distance of the placement organs.
When provided by FIGS. 11 to 13, the same purpose device for fine adjustment mesh tooth segments 49 of the compass arms 50 with a spiral toothing 51 on the underside of a central, spring-loaded grip disk 52 of the grip head.
Each circular arm is, as shown in Fig. 5, pivotable about a pivot pin 53 and it carries each Zahnseg element on its pivot pin a toothed piston 54, which pistons come together and ensure a uniform movement of the circular arms with respect to the symmetry axis of the compass. The link arms 55 of the compass are articulated with pins at 57 on.
The subject of the invention embodies a considerable improvement over the previously used compasses, which allows the compass to be set more quickly and through which a certain compass opening, which can include up to 180 degrees of arc, can be determined. The automatic adjustment of the attachment links in the parallel position to the compass ax is secured with every compass opening.
The compass handle 4 also remains in a symmetrical position and the time-consuming A set of the same after opening the compass falls away.
