Steam traction vehicle with at least two steam engines to drive the Triebacbsen. The invention relates to a steam traction vehicle with at least two steam engines for driving the drive axles. The gradual adjustment of the filling, which is known in steam traction vehicles of this type, can be carried out, for example, according to Swiss Patent No. 118296 by means of a sliding control shaft that carries the stepped cams.
With such controls, the number of stages is quite low because of the space required for shifting the camshaft. This applies to a greater extent to reversing, for which only two stages, for example, are usually provided.
In operation, the filling, which can only be changed in large steps, can be disadvantageous in that the tractive force of a locomotive, for example, turns out to be too large at a certain control level and too small when set to the next lower position to achieve the desired level To maintain the driving speed, so that in this case you have to drive with the larger filling with the steam throttled by the regulator.
For vehicles that do not have a preferred direction of travel and for which the number. If the number of steps for reverse travel has to be increased at the expense of the number of steps for forward gear, this deficiency is particularly noticeable. But the small number of steps is also noticeable when starting up. This deficiency could be alleviated by increasing the number of steps, which, however, was not possible up to now because of the lack of space, as explained above.
The invention now makes it possible, without having to throttle the steam reaching the machines by means of the regulator and without changing the number of stepped cams, to graduate the tensile force more finely that the filling of the steam engines, thanks to a special design of the cam control device, is gradually increased same,
as a ue 'h can be adjusted to different filling levels.
Since a steam engine is known to give an approximately constant tensile force within a sufficiently large speed range for each set filling level, a more regular and finer gradation of the tensile forces can be achieved in the arrangement according to the invention by adding up these individual tensile forces with multi-motor drive.
In. The drawing a Ausführungsbei is shown game of the subject invention. It shows: Fig. 1 the schematic arrangement of the cam control device for a locomotive with two steam engines, Fig. 2 control parts of Fig. 1 in an inter mediate balance, Fig. 3 and 4 embodiments of control parts.
5 and 6 are diagrams of the tensile forces without and with the application of the invention, FIGS. 7 and 8 show different schemes for controlling steam locomotives with several steam engines.
According to Fig. 1, the inlet valves 1 and \? of steam cylinders of two unspecified Darge presented, the axes driving steam engines driven by the camshafts 3 via the rollers 4. The camshaft 3 carries three different fillings corre sponding cams 0, I, 1I. It is mounted displaceably in the bearings and can be axially displaced by the auxiliary power piston 6 by means of the coupling 7, so that one of the cams 0, 1, 1I works together with the valve roller 4 if desired.
The camshaft 3 is driven from the crankshaft of the steam engine via gear 3a in a manner not shown. The auxiliary power piston 6 is controlled in a known manner by the control slide 8 in that it allows a pressure medium to pass from the line 9 onto one or the other side of the auxiliary power piston 6. The control slide, for its part, is intermittently influenced by the stepped slide 14 by means of the plunger 12 with roller 13 which is steered at point 10 of the return lever 11.
The two stages slide 14 and 14a. for the valves 1 and 2 of the two steam engine cylinders are mitein other firmly connected and are operated by the lever 15 from.
In Fig. 1, both rollers 13, 13a are on the same stage I of the slide 14 and 14a. Correspondingly, each of the camshafts 3 is also brought by the associated auxiliary power piston 6 into the same position in which the same cams 1 drive the valves 1 and 2 on both camshafts 3. Both Da.mpfmasebinen work with the same filling.
Closer examination of FIG. 1 shows that the rollers 13, 13a controlling the two machines are probably on the same level I of the associated slide, but that the roller 13 is on the right-hand section of the level I of the slide 14, the roller 13a at a distance a from the corresponding point of the stage I of the slide 14ra in its left section.
The step valve 1.1n. is thus shifted by the distance a = 1i of the pitch 2a relative to the associated valve stem 13a. If, therefore, the slides 14 and 14a are moved together by the lever 15 by the distance approx to the left, then as shown in FIG. shows the one, 13, of the Rol len 13, 13ca to stand on stage II, while the other, 13aa. remains at its previous level I.
If another step a is switched on, the other role 13a is also raised to the higher level II. In the position according to FIG. 1, both machines operate with the same filling: in the position according to FIG. 2, the valve 1 operates with a different one, e.g. B. smaller Fül ment than the valve 2. In the third last-mentioned position, in which both rollers 13, 13a are raised to level II, both valves work again with the same, but smaller filling.
It results from the fact that in the position according to FIG. 2 an intermediate stage of the tensile force arises, so that when the invention is used without increasing the number of cams, a greater number of tensile force stages, that is to say finer gradations of the tensile force, can be achieved. In Fig. 5 and 6 this is shown in a diagram in more detail Darge. In Fig. 5, the traction levels of a locomotive with two steam engines are Darge presents, the five-stage controls both always set to the same filling level. are.
If the tensile forces are plotted on the ordinate and the positions of the stepped slides on the abscissa, the stepped line of FIG. 5 arises, in which the tensile force of the locomotive is constant over a distance 2a, for example.
If, on the other hand, the control is designed according to FIGS. 1 and 2, a fine stepped line structure according to FIG. 6 is produced by a tensile force equal to the mean value in a position according to FIG. 2
EMI0003.0021
for example the tensile forces ZI, Zn of levels I and II arise. So there are train force intermediate stages located between the main tensile force stages.
It is easy to see that, for example, in the case of a locomotive or rail car with a large number of steam engines, a very fine gradation of the tractive force can be achieved in this way. If, for example, there are six steam engines, as shown schematically in Fig. 7, which are arranged in three pairs, each of which drives a drive axle, for example, the number of train power stages is doubled by, for example, the group .der with b designated steam engines on the one hand and those of the motors designated with c on the other hand each receive the same filling. If the two groups \ are driven with different fillings, an intermediate level of tensile force arises.
If each of the groups can be driven with five filling levels, ten different tensile force levels are created by using the invention.
In a different grouping of the steam engines always working with the same filling, for example in three pairs, fifteen tensile force levels can be achieved according to FIG. 8, in that the steam engines each designated with the same letters b, c, d always have the same Preserved filling. In this case, one or two of the pairs of machines can be operated with one filling, the rest with the next, so that two intermediate stages for the tensile force between the main tensile force stages, as they existed without applying the invention, arise.
The gradation could be taken even further, for example by running the six steam engines not only in groups, but also individually with different fillings. In this way, five intermediate levels could be created between two main traction levels.
The control of the slide 14, 14a and the rollers 13, 18a can instead of a Ge linkage 15, 15a according to FIGS. 1 and 2 in a different manner according to FIG. 3, where the slide 14 is threaded as a nut secured against rotation a spindle 17 is seated, which is supported at 16 and by some means, e.g. B. from a handwheel 22 of the operator (FIGS. 7 and 8) can be rotated via suitable intermediate wheels 18. The spindles 17 of the controls of the various steam engines are coupled, for. B.
by couplings 19, the slides 14 of course having to be placed on the spindles in such a way that the steps are offset, as shown in FIGS.
The rollers 13 can also be controlled by a stepped cam 21 according to FIG. 4, which can be adjusted by the operator and rotatable about a shaft 20. Like all other exemplary embodiments, this also shows the transformation of the continuous movement of the driver's handwheel into an intermittent movement of the camshaft 3. Execution according to Fig. 1 and 2 are always only fillings turned on at the same time, which differ from each other by a maximum of one level. However, filling levels can also be switched on at the same time that differ by more than one level.
The control setting of the various motors respectively. Motor groups he follows from a single lever BEZW. Handwheel 22 off. Instead of operating the control of each steam engine through a special auxiliary piston, a single auxiliary piston can be used to adjust the camshafts of a whole group of machines.
