Description
Process for the production of the azo protein from queek silver dianiline and serum protein. Azo proteins have already been made, but compounds of azo proteins with heavy metals have not been known to date.
It has now been found that these novel compounds can be obtained if heavy metal compounds of aromatic amines are diazotized and then coupled with protein, or if the heavy metal is subsequently introduced into an azo protein.
The present patent relates to a process for the production of the azo protein from mercury dianiline and serum protein, which is characterized in that the mercury dianiline is diazotized, the diazo compound is coupled with serum and the azo protein is deposited by acid precipitation.
The compound thus obtained is a brown-colored substance with a protein character, which is soluble in water, insoluble in acids and organic solvents; it is intended to be used for chemotherapeutic purposes. Example: 19 Mercury dianiline is diazotized in a hydrochloric acid solution with 52 cm 0.1 rr sodium nitrite solution and the diazo compound is coupled with 125 cm horse serum in a soda-alkaline solution. The product is precipitated with acid and purified by dialysis.
The dialy-based solution contains at a dry content of 3.8%, 0.1% mercury.
