Electromagnet with rolling armature. In order to change the transmission ratio between the force arm and the load arm of the armature constantly in anpas solution to the force occurring on the load arm during the attraction movement of the armature of an electromagnet, it is known to arrange the armature on a rolling path on which it is during its Shifts movement. The formation of such electromagnets with roller anchors causes difficulties. The known electromagnets of this type have a high resistance in the magnetic circuit, in particular a poor conclusion of the magnetic lines of force between the armature and yoke, so that great excitation field strengths must be used.
The excitation windings required for this require a relatively large amount of space, so that when a certain range of the transmission ratio is maintained for the armature movement, relatively large rolling paths and thus large masses of the moving system occur. For these reasons, the known electric magnets with rolling armatures are not suitable for periodic increments that are carried out at high speed.
The invention enables improvement of the known electromagnets with rolling armatures. According to the invention, the U-shaped core carrying the excitation winding has approximately the same width as the armature, and the end face of one leg of this core is designed as a rolling surface for the armature, while the other leg forms one pole of the magnet.
With this configuration of the core of an electromagnet with a rolling armature, a practically resistance-free inference of the magnetic lines of force across the rolling surface can be brought about, which makes it possible to achieve a large magnetic force with little electrical excitation.
The electromagnet can therefore be excited with a small excitation winding, which makes it possible to move the end of the magnetic rolling surface so close to the leg forming one pole that the rolling surface is only short in length, even if the previously described translation range for the armature is adhered to . As a result, the mass of the armature can be reduced compared to previous designs, so that the moving system has only little inertia and can be switched in quick succession.
Some embodiments of the inven tion are shown in the drawing. 1 shows a drive magnet equipped with a rolling armature for the step-by-step progression of a rotatable system in side view, FIG. 2 is a cross section through the electromagnets and rolling armature, FIG. 3 is a view of the iron circle of the electromagnet, FIGS. 4 and 5 the armature of the electric magnet in two different working position, Fig. 6 to 8 three other Ausführungsfor men for the core of the electromagnet.
In the embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the core 11 of the electromagnet is U-shaped. On the leg 12, the excitation coil 43 is pushed up. The free end of this leg bil det one pole of the magnet. The second leg 13 of the core 11 has a rolling surface for the armature 14 at its free end. The core 11 has approximately the same width as the armature 14, so that the armature lies on the rolling surface of the arm 13 over its entire width.
As a result, a good crossing of the magnetic lines of force from the core 11 to the armature 14 is guaranteed in every position of the armature, so that only an air gap in the total th iron circle between the pole of the angle 1.2 and the armature 14 exists. The end face of the leg 12 lies in a tangential plane placed on the rolling surface. The coil 1.3 is wound as an independent construction element on a coil carrier, which is pushed onto the leg 12 of the core 1.1. Here, the coil sits on the connecting piece of the two legs 12 and 13 of the core 11. This connecting piece of the core 11 is extended beyond the leg 12, so that a seat 15 is created on which the coil is also supported.
This extension of the core also causes an enlargement of the iron cross-section at the foot of the leg 12, through which the escape of magnetic lines of force is largely prevented.
The length of the rolling surface of the leg 13 in the direction of the armature longitudinal axis is a multiple of the length of the end face of the pole 1 2 in this direction, d. H. So the thickness of the leg 12. The dimensions and the design of the rolling surface who determined by the path that the load arm 16 of the armature 14 must cover and the translation range, which here in adaptation to the acting on the load arm the counterforces of the Anchor to run through.
Since the support line of the armature 14 on the rolling surface of the leg 13 moves continuously towards the leg 12 during the tightening movement, the force arm is continuously shortened and the load arm is steadily increased. In the tightened state, the greatest transmission ratio between the force arm and load arm occurs. So that the overall dimensions of the anchor system can be kept within practically usable limits, the length of the force arm in the tightened state of the anchor must be kept as small as possible.
The load arm 16 carries a pawl 17 (Fig. 1) which engages the teeth of a switching wheel. The ratchet 18 drives any rotatable system. Instead of switching a rotatable ratchet wheel, the switching of a sliding tooth rod or the like could be effected in the same way. At the end of the tightening movement of the armature 14, the pawl 17 abuts against a stationary, possibly adjustable, attached stop 19.
By setting this stop, it is possible to prevent the anchor from striking the leg 12.
On the load arm engages a spring 20 which, when the excitation is switched off, pulls the armature back into the rest position in which the armature is supported on a stationary, possibly adjustable, attached stop 21. The point of application of the spring 20 on the load arm can be changed. For this purpose, several holes 22 are seen in the U-shaped GE formed load arm 16 in front of which a suspension bolt for the spring can be used. To enable a change of the point of application of the return spring 20 without changing the spring tension, holes for the suspension of the spring are also seen in the corresponding distances on a carrier 23 associated with the like 11.
The change in the suspension of the spring causes a change in the restoring force acting on the armature according to the translation range traversed by the armature. This means that you have it in your hand to let the restoring force act on the armature in a non-linear manner and with a constantly changing transmission ratio.
A precise adjustment of the force emitted by the load arm to the counter forces occurring by the system to be driven Ge is determined by appropriate curvature of the rolling surface of the leg 13 he aims. For practical operation, it is sufficient to design the rolling surface as the lateral surface of a circular cylinder, since the circular curve deviates from the theoretical curve only by small amounts. The formation as a lateral surface of a circular cylinder has the advantage that this surface can easily be milled and ground with the usual tools.
In order to keep the armature 14 on the rolling surface, the armature carries an axis 24 in the region of the rolling surface. Two end shields 25, which each have an opening for the axis 24, are attached to the leg 13 of the core 11. Since the armature rolls on the rolling surface of the leg 13 during its movement, each axis connected to the armature performs both a longitudinal movement and a vertical movement. These movements are smallest when the bearing is placed in the rolling surface.
For this purpose, however, it would be necessary to provide lateral ribs on the anchor, which support journals or holes. Since these lobes protrude over the support surface of the anchor, they complicate the processing of the anchor, for example, the grinding of the support surface. In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 3. For this reason, the bearing point is placed so far upwards that the axis 24 penetrates the armature. Instead of a continuous axis, pegs or holes in the outermost armature could also be provided.
With this arrangement of storage, the amount of movement in the longitudinal direction and the vertical movement is greater than in the theoretically most favorable arrangement. Nevertheless, these movements are so small that a play of a few tenths of a millimeter between the axis or pin and the bearing hole is sufficient to ensure that the armature rolls correctly. The use of such an axle or journal bearing has the advantage that the armature is held on the rolling surface in every position under the action of the return spring.
The end shields 25 have the same width as the leg 13 of the core 11. This also results in lateral guidance of the armature. The end shields are also expediently made of magnetically conductive material, e.g. B. made of iron, so that a conclusion of the magnetic lines of force also takes place on the bearing signs. Both the core 11 and the anchor 14 are expediently formed from laminated iron. However, a subdivision into sheet metal thicknesses of around 1 to 2 mm is sufficient in order to achieve quick work.
Since when switching by means of the pawl and gear wheel an idle distance must always be provided for the handle of the pawl in the fallen state of the armature, only a small amount of force occurs at the beginning of the armature's tightening movement. This force can also be applied during a tilting movement of the armature, so that it is not necessary to measure the length of the rolling surface according to the entire path of the load arm.
In the approximate forms Ausfüh shown schematically in Fig. 4 and 5, the armature 26 tilts around the running edge of the rolling surface of the leg 27 until it encounters a fixed stop 28 which limits this movement.
In the rest position, the pawl 29 is the idle distance in front of the next tooth 30 of the ratchet wheel. If the electromagnet is then excited, the armature tilts around the trailing edge of the rolling surface until the pawl 29 strikes the flank of the switching tooth 30. Shortly before this position, the armature touches the rolling surface, so that the further movement during which the ratchet wheel is advanced takes place with a constant change in the translation between the load arm and the force arm.
6 and 7 show two further training possibilities of the fundamentally U-shaped core, which make it possible union to provide a large rolling surface while largely saving iron. For the design of the wide leg of the core, which leg has the rolling surface, it is always decisive that the magnetic lines of force can travel from the pole leg 31 to the rolling surface 32 on a geometrically shortest path. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 6 th, the leg with the rolling surface 32 is therefore sector-shaped ge staltet. To save material, it has a recess 33 which is also used for fastening.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 7, the core is designed according to a profile that can be easily drawn or rolled, so that it can be formed from disc-shaped sections of a correspondingly profiled rod iron. The recess 34 is used for attachment. The two embodiments shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, like the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, allow the use of independently wound coils. which can be easily applied.
In order to be able to keep the dimensions of the armature as small as possible, in the embodiment shown in FIG. 8, the ends of the legs of the U-shaped core are extended inward so that they partially overlap the coil 35. The coil 35 sits on the connecting piece 36, between the leg 37 forming a pole and the leg 38 carrying the rolling surface. In this arrangement, the coil must be wound onto the core or the core is made in two parts and in the manner of the iron circuits of transformers layered.
