Drum furnace for bright annealing of metal objects. The invention relates to a drum furnace for bright annealing of metal objects with heat recovery and with exclusion of air through a protective gas atmosphere.
It is known to anneal metal objects in furnaces provided with two counter-rotating conveying devices. In annealing furnaces, heat exchange zones or cooling zones have already been provided for the annealing material, or protective gas has been used; However, these measures are not sufficient in and of themselves to glow the goods to a sufficient extent with the least possible heat loss and at the same time to prevent the goods in the furnace or roof from starting to leave it.
The furnace according to the invention has a drum conveying the objects through a heat exchange zone into an Ileizzone as they circulate and a second drum, which is arranged coaxially to the first and which conducts the objects backwards one after the other through the heating zone, the heat exchange zone and a cooling zone. This ensures that the annealing material remains under the influence of the protective gas until it has cooled down to such an extent that the air no longer changes the surface.
An embodiment of the subject invention iBt on the drawing provides Darge.
Fig. 1 shows the drum furnace in section, Fig. 2 shows the chamber walls of the outer drum with openings, and Fig. 3 switch channels in the outer drum, which replace the chambers according to Fig. 2 are intended.
The operation of the drum furnace is as follows: The workpieces 1 to be glowed are conveyed upwards from the gas-flushed feed device 2 by the conveyor auger 3 ; they pass through the preheating zone 4 and at the end of the screw thread fall into the outer drum 5 , which is divided into individual chambers by the walls 6 .
The gas flows through the entire furnace from the closed end at which the reversal point in the conveying device is located, up to the) inlet and outlet openings for the annealing material, thus displacing any existing or somehow penetrated in the furnace Air and comes out of said openings.
This ensures that the furnace is always filled with protective gas, and any sealing devices, locks or the like at the inlet and outlet openings for the annealing material are superfluous.
Since the inlet and outlet openings for the annealing material are located deeper than the reversal point in the conveying device, the hot protective gas is pressed down by the fresh gases flowing in from the top, and the ka.Ite air has no way of entering the bottom Furnace to enter. The protective gas can, for. B. be introduced through the hollow shaft of the drum from one side or the other. If it enters from the side on which the annealing material is brought in and out, the heating chamber and the drum on the other side can be completely closed. Of course, the gas must enter the actual furnace chamber at the point where the material to be annealed is reversed.
On the other hand, it is also possible to provide a special pipe for introducing the gas.
According to Fig. 2, the chamber walls 6 are provided with openings 7 which are offset from one another so that the workpieces pass from one chamber to the next with each rotation . The heating drum 5 is heated by exchangeable electrical heating elements 8 which are provided with supply lines 9 .
After leaving the ileiz zone 10 , the annealed workpieces arrive in the heat exchange zone 11 and then come into the cooling zone 12, which is double-coated. A cooling liquid flows between the two jacket surfaces 21, which extracts the heat from the two annealing material. The warm drum shell can just as well in other ways, such as. B. be cooled by an air stream. After leaving the cooling zone, the annealed workpieces enter the container 17.
The jacket of the inner drum has openings for better warmth. to bring about an exchange between the stimulation and preheating zone. The heat exchange zone of the outer drum simultaneously transfers its heat to the preheating zone of the inner drum.
In a similar way, the work pieces brought into the inner drum are also preheated from the cooling zone of the outer drum. For the purpose of better removal of the workpieces from the storage container, the inner screw conveyor is extended by a greater length beyond the outer heating drum.
The heating chamber is surrounded by a heat-retaining layer 13. In the same way, the heat exchange zone 11 of the rotary drum 5 is also encased by a layer 14 which the Heat hold back. The jacket is supported by the rollers 16. mounted in the brackets 15
Instead of the chamber walls provided with staggered openings, the outer annealing drum can also be provided with switch channels 18 , which take the workpieces from a preceding chamber 19 <as shown in Fig. 3 / B> to the next chamber 20. When using such switch channels, it is not necessary to set the drum furnace at an angle; in this case it can also be mounted horizontally.
