Mobile inductor magnet for magnetoelectric generator. We know that the machining of. High coercive field aluminum-nickel magnets present great difficulties and their mechanical strength is low.
The construction of a multi-pole rotary inductor. must therefore be solved taking into account the special nature of the magnet.
The present invention relates to a mobile inductor magnet for small generators used, for example, in cycle lighting.
This inductor magnet comprises a magnetic mass having a central opening 1a. crossing right through and polar openings in mild steel, this mass and these openings. being assembled by the drive shaft passing through the magnet, by means of a clamping member cooperating with a stop of the axis.
One embodiment of the inductor magnet forming the subject of the invention is shown, by way of example and in longitudinal section, in the accompanying drawing.
As can be seen, the axis 1 of a generator completely passes through the magnetic mass 4 of the inductor magnet, so that its lower part can be guided by a bearing; thus avoiding an overhang. Axis 1 must drag in. its rotation of the polar knots. 2 and 3 and the magnetic mass 4 which is constituted by a cylinder of magnetic material with a high coercive field, in aluminum-nickel for example.
The cylinder 4, receiving a transverse magnetization, therefore has two poles. located at the two ends on which the parts 2 and 3 are supported. The flux from the magnet therefore passes to the pole shoes by contact.
The assembly of the magnetic mass 4 and its pole shoes 2 and 3 on the axis 1 is obtained by means of a shoulder 8 of the latter cooperating with a tightening member 7 constituted by a nut. These parts are thus firmly clamped on each other.
So that the axis 1, provided in steel, does not come. short-circuit ground 4 and thus cause a significant loss of flux; it is isolated from it by means of two washers 5 and 6 provided in non-magnetic material, each provided with a collar 5 ', respectively 6',
penetrating into the central opening of the magnetic mass and thus constituting a magnetic insulation between the axis, on the one hand, and the mass 4 with its polar blossoms, on the other hand.
Each washer 5 and 6 has an internal diameter corresponding to that of the drive shaft where it passes through the pole shoes and the magnetic mass,
and an outer diameter substantially equal to that of the central opening of these parts, so that the assembly on the drive shaft is obtained practically without play.
The washers 5, 5 'and 6, 6' also constitute an important advantage from a constructive point of view, to achieve a perfect centering of the openings 2 and 3 and of the magnetic mass 4 with respect to the axis 1, forming a concentric nesting of the whole.
To absorb the inevitable variations in the diameter of the central part of the mass 4 and therefore facilitate assembly, the end of the flanges 5 'and 6' is slightly conical.
The penetration of this cone into the center of the mass 4 is in practice only over a few millimeters, a length sufficient to ensure good centering of said mass with fairly wide manufacturing tolerances.
This construction has the advantage of leaving a free space 9 in the center of the inductor over almost the entire height of the cylinder, which makes it possible to lighten the assembly.
The magnetic mass 4, simply pierced in its middle before quenching, is mounted between its pole shoes, then the washers 5 and 6 coming to fit in these latter, keep the mass 4 in a central position. Locking nut 7,
cooperating with the shoulder 8 of the axis 1 makes the whole integral with this axis. This solution avoids having to drive out and rivet a non-magnetic part in the center of the magnetic mass, an operation which always risks causing it to burst.
It also avoids having to: pour in the central hole of the magnetic mass a non-magnetic metal, a solution which is generally unsafe and which weighs down considerably.
The tightening of the aluminum-nickel mass 4 which takes place in the direction of axial compression is therefore, from the point of view of mechanical resistance; favorable for this kind of material.
In some forms of exéeutian, one could only provide a washer 5 with a flange 5 ', possibly longer than that shown in the drawing,
the nut 7 then being made of a non-magnetic material and presenting a centering and isolating element consisting either of a part corresponding to the collar 6 'of the washer 6 or even simply a conical part penetrating into the opening of the 'polar blooming 3.
Certain embodiments could of course not have the shape of a bell.
The shoulder 8 could be replaced by a stop constituted, for example, by a pin or another corresponding retaining member:
