Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Polymethinfarbstofes. In der Hauptanmeldung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Polymethinfarb- stoffes beschrieben, bei dem man 1,3,3-Tri- methyl-2-cnethylenindolin-a),-aldehyd in Ge genwart eines sauren Kondensationsmittels mit p-Phenylendiamin umsetzt.
Es wurde nun gefunden, dass man eben falls einen neuen wertvollen Polymethinfarb- stoff erhält, wenn man 1,3,3-Trimethyl-2- methylenindolin-m-aldehyd in Gegenwart eines sauren Kondensationsmittels mit 4,4'- Dimethyldiphenylamin umsetzt.
Der neue Farbstoff ähnelt den basischen Triphenylmethanfarbstoffen der Auraminreihe. Er ist gut wasserlöslich und zeichnet sich durch ausgezeichnete Klarheit und sehr gute Lichtechtheit seiner Färbungen aus. Durch Sulfonierung kann man den Farbstoff in einen wertvollen sauren Farbstoff überführen.
<I>Beispiel:</I> Zu einer Lösung von 20 Teilen 4,4'-Di- methyldiphenylamin und 21 Teilen 1,3,3- Trimethyl-2-methylenindolin-co-aldehyd in 150 Teilen Benzol lässt man unter Rühren bei 2000 langsam 16 Teile Phosphorogy- chlorid zulaufen. Dabei steigt die Temperatur auf etwa<B>50'</B> C. Nach 2 1/2-stündigem Rühren trägt man die Masse in 200 Teile Wasser ein, entfernt das Benzol mittels Wasserdampf und gewinnt aus der filtrierten Lösung den Farbstoff durch Fällen mit Kochsalz in gelben Kristallen. Er färbt tannierte Baumwolle in klarem gelbem Tone.
Process for the preparation of a polymethine dye. The main application describes a process for the preparation of a new polymethine dye in which 1,3,3-trimethyl-2-cnethylenindoline-a), - aldehyde is reacted with p-phenylenediamine in the presence of an acidic condensing agent.
It has now been found that a new, valuable polymethine dye is also obtained if 1,3,3-trimethyl-2-methyleneindoline-m-aldehyde is reacted with 4,4'-dimethyldiphenylamine in the presence of an acidic condensing agent.
The new dye is similar to the basic triphenylmethane dyes of the auramine series. It is readily soluble in water and its dyeings are characterized by excellent clarity and very good lightfastness. The dye can be converted into a valuable acidic dye by sulfonation.
<I> Example: </I> A solution of 20 parts of 4,4'-dimethyldiphenylamine and 21 parts of 1,3,3-trimethyl-2-methyleneindoline-co-aldehyde in 150 parts of benzene is added with stirring 2000 slowly run in 16 parts of phosphorogychloride. The temperature rises to about 50 C. After stirring for 2 1/2 hours, the mass is added to 200 parts of water, the benzene is removed by means of steam and the dye is obtained from the filtered solution by precipitation with table salt in yellow crystals. He dyes tannin cotton in a clear yellow shade.
