Description

Process for the manufacture of a ski rod and ski rod obtained by this process. The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of a ski rod and to a ski rod obtained according to this process.

This process is characterized in that a rod is surrounded by a sheath of a flexible material, the latter is impregnated with an adhesive substance, then the whole is subjected to heat.

This ski rod is characterized in that it comprises a rod surrounded by a sheath of a flexible material impregnated with an adhesive substance.

The attached drawing relates to examples of implementation of the process in question. Each of the two figures in the drawing is a partial longitudinal section of a ski pole.

The rod shown comprises a wooden rod 11 around which has been attached a sheath 2, made of fabric. This cold sheath is impregnated with a liquid adhesive substance, for example an artificial resin or a rubber worm, then the whole is heated and allowed to cool. The resin passes through the sheath, glues it to the rod and makes it rigid by re-cooling, so that this rod is surrounded by a coating forming one body with it and increasing its resistance to breakage without reducing its flexibility.

The cane of fig. 2 comprises a rod 3 formed of a metal tube. Around this rod, we also place a sheath 4 of fabric which is impregnated, as indicated above.

Instead of fabrics, one could use paper or cardboard, or any other flexible material capable of being impregnated with resin.
