Anti-slip device for tractor wheels. The present invention relates to an anti-skid device for tractor wheels, this device comprising two rows of retractable spikes connected to a rotary control ring and arranged so that the crampons of a row are staggered with respect to those. on the other row.
The anti-slip device according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a circular support member having, at its center, a lateral hub portion on which said control ring is rotatably mounted and, at its peripheral portion, a circular lateral rim provided with guide openings distributed over its periphery, through which said studs extend, means being provided for fixing the whole of the device in a removable manner on the outer face of the wheel tractor.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a front view of a tractor wheel fitted with a .antidéra pant device, the crampons of which are in action for walking on soft ground, and FIG. 2 shows, in a front view, the same tractor wheel, but from which is removed the anti-slip device which is siné, next to this wheel, in an axial section.
A is an inflatable tire type tractor wheel and B (fig. 2) is a separate anti-slip device which is intended to be applied to this wheel A.
The anti-slip device B comprises a circular support member b which has, at its center, a lateral hub part b 'and, at its peripheral portion, a circular rim b2 projecting laterally on the same side of the member. b that the hub part b '. On the hub part V is rotatably mounted a control ring c on which are articulated the inner ends of retractable crampons d, these crampons,
formed by curved bars with a rectangular transverse cross-section, being arranged in two rows on either side of the control ring c and so that the studs of a row are staggered with respect to the studs on the other row. All of these studs d extend outwardly through guide slots o provided in the circular rim b 'and distributed around the periphery of the latter in a manner corresponding to the arrangement of the studs d. On the outer face of the control crown is fixed an operating arm e which allows the crampons d to be brought into the desired position.
This operating arm e can itself be locked in the desired position by bringing it into engagement with one or the other of three notches f which are provided in the rim b2 and in which it is retained by it. - even by spring effect.
The device B, as described above is intended to be fixed to the outer face of the tractor wheel A. For this purpose, the support member b </ I > is provided with bolt holes i, through which enter, in the mounting position of the device B, bolts a passing through some of the spokes of the wheel A, s 'this is a spoked wheel, and on which nuts k will be screwed, as shown in fig. 1, which shows the device B in application to the wheel A,
with its crampons in the working position for walking the wheel on soft ground. To bring the crampons d to their rest position, the operating arm e is turned, slightly moving it away from the edge b2 to bring it out of the notch f in which it is located, in the direction of the arrow up to the position indicated by a mixed line, so as to rotate the control crown c in the same direction, this crown thus removing the studs from inside to bring them to the retracted position which is not shown here.
It should be noted that the support member b is advantageously established as here, so that the circular lateral rim b 'only slightly protrudes diametrically at the most from the rim of the wheel A. This is of some importance when the execution, with a wheeled tractor fitted with the anti-skid device described, of plowing work, given that, taking into account the above, the settlement of the soil already plowed with the edge is prevented b ', the tire itself of the corresponding wheel rolling in the groove.
