Description
Siphon with oil seal. Forms the subject of the present invention. a siphon with an oil seal and an overflow pipe covered by a bell, which can be removed in the siphon housing. The widespread foot of the overflow pipe is sealingly arranged with a canoe on a seat provided on the housing, the cone and seat being designed in such a way that inclination and thus leaking of the siphon at the seat mentioned is at least difficult.
An exemplary embodiment is shown in the accompanying drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows a vertical section; Fig. 2 is a top view.
The siphon has a housing 1 which is provided with a wide outlet nozzle 2. Between the interior 3 of the hous ses 1 and the nozzle 2, a conical seat 4 is provided. The overflow pipe 5 rests on this with a cone 7 seen on the plate 6.
The wall 9 of the bell 1'0 provided with openings 8 rests on the plate 6. The latter closes the upper free end of the overflow pipe 5 and sits on the outer circumference in well-known Wise notches which allow the liquid to flow through.
To clean the siphon, the bell 10 is removed and the overflow pipe is lifted off the seat 4; the sludge etc. which are sensitive to space 3 then falls through its own weight: through the nozzle 2 into the drain. There are no protruding edges, etc., which could hinder the process. The inside of the siphon can then be rinsed out. The cone and seat are designed in such a way that they are at an angle and thus the siphon on the seat mentioned is at least difficult to leak.
The arrangement gives the overflow pipe a firm footing and small bumps cannot break the seal. Accidental drainage of the oil forming the odor trap from the space 3 is therefore very difficult.
