Flexible coupling that moves in all directions, in particular for machines on land and water vehicles. If torque surges occur from two coupled machines, one of which supplies mechanical power and the other consumes this power, the coupling is usually given a certain elasticity in the circumferential direction, for example by connecting the two coupling halves with one another with helical springs whose axes lie in the circumferential direction or are tangent to this direction.
Such couplings also have the advantage that the two machines to be coupled do not need to be assembled with the accuracy otherwise required. _ Such precise assembly has practically no value in any case for land and water vehicles that are subject to normal bending and distortion of their bodies. Therefore, flexible couplings must be used on these. They are particularly suitable for diesel-electric drives for the coupling between diesel engine and generator.
The mentioned spring clutches have the disadvantage that they get into resonance vibrations at certain speeds and are therefore endangered on the one hand, and on the other hand disturb the smooth running of the coupled machines.
It is now known, elastic couplings that do not .gestatten a mobility of coupling the shafts against each other, but spring only in the circumferential direction, with damping to see that is produced by friction, so that harmful resonance vibrations are prevented will. This damping is usually achieved by means of lamellae, which slide against each other with friction when the coupling halves move. This type of coupling can also be referred to as lamellar friction, coupling with resilient feedback.
It is also known to make the lamellar friction pressure adjustable from the outside by compressing the lamellas with adjustable springs. The last-mentioned type of coupling is not suitable for inaccurately assembled or erected machine groups on vehicles, because these require a certain independence of the two axes to be coupled from one another.
According to the invention, however, the stated object is perfectly achieved in that the brake disks of at least one coupling half are attached to the latter so that they can move on all sides.
In the drawing, an execution example is shown for the invention. Fig. 1 shows an axial section through the new coupling, namely right to line DD, left to line EE of FIG. 2, and FIG. 2 shows a cross section of the coupling, in three different planes AA, BB and CC of FIG 1, all viewed from top to bottom.
The two shafts to be coupled are labeled 1 and 21. The coupling half 3 seated on the shaft 1 carries the six spring housing 4, which after the other coupling half -8 to by: a loose cover plate 5 are protected against dust. The multi-disc brake is embedded in the space enclosed by the cylindrical peripheral wall of the coupling half 3. About the other half of the coupling: 8 engages the coupling half 3 with a cover 6. The mounting screws 7 of this cover also serve to take along the sheet metal disks 9, 10 of the multi-disc brake.
The sheet metal disks 11 lying between them are cut to the shape of a hammer head and are held by means of bolts 12 in a fork 1.3 of one arm 14 of the coupling half provided with six such arms. The bolts 12 have play 1 5 on their circumference, and the forks 1 3 play 16, 17 in the axial direction, so that the axis 2 is somewhat parallel to the axis 1 can move or incline.
The lamellae 9, 10, 11 are pressed against one another by springs 18, which sit in housings 19 distributed around the circumference of the coupling half 3; the brake pressure of the multi-disc brake can be adjusted using the screw cap 20.
The elastic resilience of the hitch ment in the circumferential direction is achieved by the six springs 21 which are in the spring housings 4 of the coupling half 3. The loose cover 5, this housing are secured by tabs 22 on the last brake plate 10 from falling out. The springs 21 are only subjected to pressure and are set into the housing 4 with bias. The other coupling half 8 acts on the springs 21 via piston-like inserts 23 which have radially directed engagement surfaces 24 for the cambered stop strips 25 on the forks 13 of the arms 14.
The stop strips 2.5 can move on the surfaces 24 without the suspension of the coupling being impaired in its circumferential direction.
Since the two halves of the described coupling rub against each other in many places, the coupling is expediently provided with circulating lubrication. For example, you can surround it with an outside ge closed housing that contains an oil bath, and the -01 when rotating the clutch automatically continuously after the clutch center BEZW. -axis conveyed towards.
