Schalter.
Die erfindungsgemässe Anordnung einer Flüssigkeitssäule hat :den Vorteil, dass beim Löschvorgang weder heisses Gas noch an der Druekerzeugungsstelle erhitzte Flüssigkeit von der Druckerzeugungsstelle nach der Löschstelle gelangen kann;
Diese ist auf den Teil 55 vulkanisiert und mit .den Rändern des Metallgefässes 36 dich tend verbunden. Eine Metallglocke 6.0 schützt das Gummi vor :der Einwirkung des Licht bogens. 6,1;
Fig. 8 zeigt die Seitenansicht eines Schal ters, welcher zusätzliche, aussen -angebrachte U nterbrechungsstellen besitzt.
Switch. It is known to use the current to heat the current to be switched off to heat gas and thus to put it under pressure, this gas then being fed to an extinguishing point separate from the pressure generating point and there causing the arc to be extinguished. It is also known to generate steam or gas in an oil-filled switch from oil using an auxiliary arc, and thus to bring about an oil flow to extinguish the arc at the point of interruption.
The first-mentioned arrangement has the major disadvantage that the gaseous extinguishing agent was previously heated when it was pressurized. However, hot gas is known to be very unsuitable for extinguishing arcs. Attempts have been made to alleviate this deficiency by interposing cooling devices. However, this makes the switch complicated and expensive.
When using oil, it is very disadvantageous that the auxiliary arc also decomposes the oil supplied to the extinguishing point, and that over a longer period of time. Fer ner are with the known switches always relatively large amounts of oil for use ge reached, whereby the known dangers of oil switches are present.
The invention relates to an electrical switch in which: the extinguishing agent flow required at the interruption point is generated by a current-dependent device at least when high currents are switched off.
It consists in the fact that when switching off between the pressure generation point and the interruption point, through which the extinguishing agent flow used to extinguish the arc against a special, gas-filled, at least almost closed part of the Aus # - so 'holding vessel takes place, a liquid , gk-eitssäule is switched on,
so that the extinguishing agent is not impaired in its extinguishing effect by the pressure generation point. In such a switch, an auxiliary interruption point or, for example, a heating resistor can be used as the current-dependent pressure generating device in a manner known per se.
The arrangement of a liquid column according to the invention has the advantage that during the extinguishing process neither hot gas nor liquid heated at the pressure generating point can get from the pressure generating point to the extinguishing point;
Furthermore, there is the possibility of giving the liquid column a small mass and arranging it so that it is easily movable, so that it can follow the impulse emanating from the pressure generation point with almost no inertia. When using 01 : the advantageous fact that a relatively small amount of the required liquid can be used, whereby: the risk of fire is very limited.
The feature of the invention that: the flow of liquid through the interruption point takes place after a gas-filled, at least almost completely closed part of the switching vessel, has the advantage that liquid or hot gases are thrown out of the switch can be avoided.
Another big advantage can be achieved with the subject matter of the invention: by putting the switching vessel under static pressure, which favors the extinguishing of the arc and increases the breakdown voltage inside the switch.
In order to avoid a liq sigkeitszersetzung during the pressure generation, it is expedient to bring about the pressure generation by He warm a gas. The switching vessel then encloses two gas spaces, one of which, containing the pressure generation point, may be referred to as the pressure generation space, the other, which acts as a buffer, as a gas buffer space.
In this case, it is advantageous to connect the two gas spaces with a U-shaped tube in which: the column of liquid is located, because: then the liquid is: automatically returned to its original position by gravity after each switching process . In order to achieve the most intense gas or liquid flow at the extinguishing point, it is advisable to design it in such a way that:
there the: flow cross-section is narrowed at one or more successive points. In addition, the extinguishing effect can be enhanced by surrounding the extinguishing point with: a known single or multi-stage elastic expansion chamber.
If the switch is to work purely as a liquid switch, the extinguishing point is expediently arranged so that it is permanently in the liquid, in which case the special, gas-filled part of the switching vessel serves as a buffer space.
If: the (switch is to work as a gas switch, however, the extinguishing point will be positioned so far away from the liquid level that at least while the arc exists, at: the interruption point: the liquid will not touch the extinguishing point The extinguishing point is expediently designed in such a way that an axial.
Gas flow arises. This can be achieved: by using a single nozzle, double nozzle or a ring nozzle.
Under certain circumstances, it may be useful to bring the extinguishing point only temporarily with the liquid column in contact conditions. A particularly favorable arrangement he keeps z. B.: when: the liquid column is slightly below the extinguishing point when at rest.
When switching off small currents: then the relatively small gas flow will suffice. to cause the interruption. When switching off heavy short circuits, it will be necessary. The extinguishing point with liquid, z. B. lÖi to flow through. This arrangement has the advantage that the oil does not decompose at all during normal operating circuits.
Under certain circumstances it can be useful to assemble the liquid column from two or more liquids stored one above the other. z. B. urasser \ Clophen (chlorinated di-phenyl), where the water is used to dissolve the arc, and the non-flammable, insulating clophen temporarily isolates the extinguishing point after extinguishing until the temperature at the pressure generating point has fallen so far,
that the existing interruption path can withstand the stress on its own. It is also possible to superimpose an insulating liquid, in particular oil, on a conductive liquid, e.g. B. water. This results in a switch with the smallest possible amount of oil. When using a completely closed switch, liquids can also be used that are not liquid at atmospheric pressure and room temperature, e.g. B.
Ammonia, carbonic acid or the like. In this case, the further advantage can be achieved that any escaping gas is automatically replaced from the liquid by evaporation.
In order to switch off small currents as possible in one or two half-waves, it is advisable to provide an additional device that is independent of the current heat for moving the liquid. You can z. B. for this purpose, in addition to the pressure generating device provided by means of an auxiliary arc, whose effectiveness naturally depends on the size of the cut-off current, actuate a piston with the cut-off movement that sets the liquid in motion so that a sufficiently strong one even with small absolute currents Pressure is assured.
You can also let a spring, tensioned when switching on, act on the liquid. It is also possible to drain a small amount of gas from the gas buffer space as an additional aid, which also sets the liquid in motion.
In order to be able to control the liquid level, it is advisable to make the pipe completely or partially transparent. It is usually useful to manufacture the liquid channel in whole or in part as an insulating tube, or to embed it in an insulating body.
If the shutdown process produces additional gas, e.g. B. by decomposition of liquid or splitting of gases,. So it is useful to remove some of the gases generated from the scarf ter. This can be done in the simplest way by means of a suitably designed valve. Since the shutdown usually results in low molecular weight gases, in particular hydrogen, you have the possibility of at least one * point .des z.
B. all-sided closed switching vessel so trainees that the switching gases, especially hydrogen, can diffuse out, z. B. as an iron wall. If static overpressure is used, it may be advisable to maintain the pressure by connecting a pressure vessel. DZan can also arrange vapor or gas emitting bodies inside the switch, e.g.
B. carbonic acid snow. At the point of pressure generation, it is advisable to use a gas that changes only temporarily under the influence of high temperatures, but on the other hand has high dielectric strength, e.g. B. nitrogen.
On the other hand, it is useful to have a gas that is as favorable as possible for extinguishing the arc, in particular hydrogen, at the extinguishing point. A favorable arrangement is obtained, for. B. when the buffer space with hydrogen-splitting gas, z. B ammonia, is filled, whereby it is assumed that the extinguishing point is then in this gas space.
If, on the other hand, oil is used to extinguish the arc, then it is useful in the. Buffer space a gas that is as inert as possible, e.g. B. also nitrogen to have, so that explosive mixtures with the hydrogen produced from the 101 cannot occur. In this case, it is advisable to connect the gas generation space and the buffer space by means of a thin pipe which only allows a gradual pressure equalization.
It is particularly advantageous to use a gas for filling the switch with gas that is practically not decomposed under the influence of the arc. One such gas is nitrogen.
The arc of light also creates a pressure at the extinguishing point, which counteracts the movement of the column of liquid. In order to accelerate the liquid column in the direction from! The quenching silence to the pressure generating space, i. H. away from the arc, it is useful to make the flow resistance greater in this direction, as the other way round.
The simplest solution is to place a corresponding check valve in the liquid column.
In order to make the arc voltage as small as possible during the current peak at the quenching point, but to make the deionization as large as possible during the current zero passage, it is advisable to match the content and pressure of the gas space or spaces with the mass of the liquid column in such a way that
that the greatest flow velocity occurs at the extinguishing point during the @ current zero crossing and the lowest possible flow velocity occurs at times of the current maximum. This measure can be supported by the fact that the contacts at the extinguishing point are designed in such a way that their distance is influenced by the flow velocity and, in the case of large:
The flow rate of the extinguishing agent is large, with a small flow rate is small. This can e.g. B. can be achieved by, .that one or both contacts are resilient, with the fluid friction, which is always dependent on the flow rate, this spring is compressed.
In order to gain time for the acceleration of the liquid column, it is generally advisable to design the extinguishing point in such a way that a flow is possible even when the contact is closed. In order to increase the force with which the liquid column is pressed into the arc, it may be useful to arrange a differential piston at the pressure generation point.
It will expediently relieve the space under the large piston of the differential piston towards the buffer space.
An impedance (resistance, capacitance, inductance) can be arranged parallel to the contacts at the pressure generation point. This impedance can act as a pre-stage resistance when switching on in a known manner; When switching off, a resistor can be used as a so-called switch protection resistor, by means of which the voltage rise, the recurring voltage and the size of the switch-off tronies are reduced.
If the resistor is arranged in the interior of the pressure generation space, it can cause heating of the pressure space on its own together with the arc or even if the value is correspondingly small. If a gas-filled pressure generation space is used, it is advisable to make it out of metal, because the radiant heat of the arc then does not cause burns and the formation of metal vapor is harmless.
It can be advantageous to also make the buffer space out of metal and to limit the insulation only to the liquid channel. If a non-insulating liquid speed, z. If water is used, for example, a pressure generating unit equipped with a pre-contact has two advantages.
Once the FG connection takes place on it, so that no pre-current passes through the water column. It also works when switched off. Condition as an air separation section that is in series with the extinguishing contact.
If the switch is placed under static overpressure, the switching stroke can be made very small due to the high dielectric strength that then exists. This is from. Extraordinary advantage for the dimensions and the price: the switch.
In order to improve the isolation over the open switch, and to make the separating distance visible, you can arrange an inevitably controlled switching point outside the switch in addition to the two switching points inside in a known manner. If you want to transmit large continuous currents, it is advisable to do so in parallel with the one. 'or to both switching points in. Another switching point outside to be provided inside.
The completely closed switch design is particularly suitable for rooms with bad weather and for partial air installation.
In: the drawing are examples of the subject matter of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a switch with only one gas compartment. The F'ig. 2 to 7 show switches with two gas compartments on either side of the liquid column. Fig. 8 shows a switch with external contacts, which is, for example, suitable for high currents.
In Fig. 1, 1 is the switching vessel made of Iso lierstoff, which is expanded into an air container 2, and below in a liquid container 3 above. 4 is the extinguishing contact formed as a nozzle, on which the deletion of the main arc goes ahead. 5 is a sliding contact for transmitting current to the movable switching pin 6. 7 and 8 are pre-contacts which are used to generate a pressure-generating auxiliary arc.
The current is fed to the pre-contact 8, flows from here via 7, the line 9, the sliding contact 5 and the switching pin 6 to the main contact 4 and is taken off through the line 10. The movement of the contacts 7, 8 and the switching pin 6 takes place inevitably, g by a drive, not shown. The switch is filled with a liquid up to the mark 11.
If the current is to be switched off, the auxiliary contact 7, 8 is opened first. As a result, an auxiliary arc winds in, part 3:
of the switching vessel, which is the pressure production area, is generated under liquid. The auxiliary arc, evaporates and gasifies the liquid and it creates a pressurized gas bubble,
which accelerates the liquid located in the pipe upward. This creates a flow through the nozzle-shaped extinguishing contact 4.
So that this flow can arise before the exit of the switch pin 6- from .dem clear contact 4, this is: broken; formed, for example composed of individual lamellae.
The switching pin 6 opens the contact compared to the pre-contact 7, 8, so that: the resulting arc is drawn in a .Strömung that is axially directed through the nozzle 4 and as a result: the arc burning therein cools very effectively.
The arc is: therefore extinguished with a relatively short length before the gases which have formed in the pressure generating chamber 3 reach the extinguishing point.
The column of liquid in the tube 1 forms a seal which prevents the highly heated, hot decomposition gases, which are not suitable for the extinguishing, from reaching the extinguishing point during the extinguishing process. Since the liquid column has only a small inertial mass and:
is therefore easy to move, it can very quickly follow the pressure generated in the vessel 3 and effectively constrict and cool the arc at the point of extinction.
In Fig. 2 the: switching vessel has a U-shaped part 12: and two closed gas chambers 13 and 14. 15 is the fixed nozzle-shaped extinguishing contact, 16 is the movable switching pin, 17, 18 are the pre-contacts.
The drive of the contacts is not shown. It takes place just as it is shown in the embodiment of FIG. 1 ge. The gas space 1: 3 is filled with nitrogen, while the gas space 14 is filled with hydrogen.
The liquid filling 19 be available from Clophen, an insulating, non-flammable liquid. The liquid filling is so low that the extinguishing contact 15 is not in contact with it.
When switched off, the nitrogen-filled space 18 acts as a. Pressure generation compartment, whereas the hydrogen-filled room 14 serves as a gas buffer and at the same time as an extinguishing room. The entire switch can be under a certain static overpressure.
Under the effect of the pressure generated by the auxiliary arc at the contacts 17, 18, the liquid column 1.9 receives an impulse: in the direction of the extinguishing point and thereby generates a flow of hydrogen from the bottom up through the nozzle-shaped contact 15.
This flow of hydrogen is very effective in extinguishing the arc, since hydrogen is among all gases; has the best extinguishing properties. As a result, a lot of heat is withdrawn from the arc by the axially surrounding it .Strömung, and when the current passes through zero, the arc extinguishes with a short length.
At the same time, the auxiliary arc between the contacts 17, 18 in the pressure generating space is extinguished. The nitrogen in this space has a much higher insulation capacity than hydrogen. This property is peculiar to all molecularly permanent gases of an element. Its Dunohsohlagsfestigkeä.t is increased by
that it is under overpressure from the start. As a result, the arc cannot re-ignite either in the DTU generation space 13 or at the extinguishing point 15.
Break point of particularly high dielectric strength, whereby the switch is secured against reignition.
In FIG. 3, a switch is shown in which, in contrast to FIG. the Ucht- bogenlöschuug at the extinguishing point is not carried out by a flowing gas, but by flowing liquid. B.:
Nitrogen, are filled and are connected by a pressure equalization tube 20 of small clear cross-section.
21 is a water column on which an oil column 22 is superimposed on the side of the extinguishing point. The column has a very low height, which is why this switch has a small, narrow 01.
the pressure generated by the auxiliary arc in the vessel 13 in the direction of the liquid column, the extinguishing point 15 is accelerated, only the oil flows through it, which is decomposed under the effect of the arc. The decomposition gases contain hydrogen, which is very effective in extinguishing the arc.
After the arc has been extinguished, the dielectric strength of the created interruption path increases due to the oil's insulating properties. The water does not come into contact with the extinguishing point, as the extinguishing process is finished before the water could reach the extinguishing contact.
With this switch, too, there is increased security against backfire after extinguishing due to the high dielectric strength of the series interruption point 17j18 located in the pressure chamber. The pressure equalization after the shutdown is completed takes place through the pressure equalization tube 20.
The switch according to FIG. 4 works in such a way that the extinguishing point 15 is only temporarily immersed in the column of liquid. Immersion can take place either with every shutdown or only with severe shutdowns.
The liquid column consists of Clophen 23, which does not come into contact with the contacts at all, but only serves as a pressure transmission medium and of water 24, which does not mix with the Clophen. Both vessels 13, 14 are filled with a gas, e.g. B.
Air or nitrogen. Small interruption currents can be safely extinguished with a small air flow at the extinguishing contact. As a result, the arrangement is made, and the mirror 25 of the liquid speed is so far away from the erasure point that these small; Interrupt currents the liquid never comes into contact with the extinguishing point.
In the case of severe shutdowns, on the other hand, the auxiliary arc generates: a: greater pressure and greater acceleration of the liquid column, the arc at .der extinguishing point 15 reaching the water 24. As a result, there is a strong flow of the water vapors that are created, which are also suitable for one. extinguish strong short-length arc.
Such an arrangement can also be made so that the clophen, after each time the arc is extinguished, passes temporarily, following its living force, into the interruption point and effects its isolation. When the clophene column runs back again, a certain time has passed after the arc has been extinguished, during which the pressure generating area cools down and:
so that the breakdown strength of the series interruption point 17/18 could be increased.
In the arrangement shown in Fig. 5 there is an oil column 26 in the right leg of the switching vessel, while in the left leg there is a column .2i7 of liquid ammonia. The static pressure under which the vessel is placed is correspondingly high. In the gas space 14 there is gaseous ammonia. Any leakage losses are repeatedly replaced by the liquid ammonia, so that the pressure is automatically maintained by the evaporation of the ammonia.
The right gas space 1'3 is filled with nitrogen. The ammonia gas at the extinguishing point contains hydrogen and is therefore well suited for extinguishing. The oil column 26 forms a closure of the pressure generating space 13 filled with nitrogen.
In order to maintain the static pressure through the evaporation of the liquid itself, instead of choosing a liquid with a low vapor pressure as in the example described above, a heating device can be provided through which a liquid is raised to a correspondingly high temperature is heated.
In Figs. 6 and 7, 30 mean the switch base in which .the drive shaft 31 is mounted, 32 the opening spring, 33 the switch shaft, 3: 4 an insulating rod.
The support insulator 35 carries the metal vessel 36, which: encloses the pressure generating space 37 and the buffer space 38, ie the switch. Both rooms are filled with pressurized gas. 39 is a partition with a small pressure equalization opening 40.
41 is a membrane made of a thin iron sheet, through which the hydrogen formed from the oil can diffuse. At the bottom of the vessel 86, the insulating body 43 is cemented into an oval flange 42, which likewise has an elongated cross section. Two liquid channels 44 and 45 are provided in this.
At the bottom, the insulating body 43 is closed off by the metal cap 46 cemented on. This has an opening at the bottom in which the screw cap 4 7 sits tightly. The fixed lamella switch piece 48 is inserted into an extension of the channel 45 and held in place by the spring 49.
A flexible band, which is not shown in the drawing, connects the contact piece 48 to the metal cap 46, which carries the power connector 50. The other power connection 51 leads to the contact piece 52 !. The movable contact piece 53 is articulated at 54 on the extension 55 of a double-armed lever 56.
The double-armed, lever 56- is rotatable in the two bearings 5.p58, which are attached to your switching vessel. 86 sitting. The sealing introduction of the extension 55 into the switching vessel takes place with the aid of the rubber skin 59.
This is vulcanized on part 55 and connected to the edges of the metal vessel 36 you tend. A metal bell 6.0 protects the rubber from: the effects of the electric arc. 6.1;
is a can with movable pleated walls, which is inserted into the wall of the insulating body, communicates with the channel 45 and is filled with liquid. 62 is a valve plate made of rubber, which is held by lugs 63, and the valve seat 64 of which is.
It forms a non-return valve, which prevents or prevents a flow in the direction of the extinguishing point-pressure generation point. inhibits. 65 is an insulating tube,
in that there are one or more drainage openings 66. The U-tube is filled with oil up to the mark 6 7.
In Fig. 7, the three phases of a three-phase switch of the type shown in Fig. 6 is to be seen. The three switching vessels are built close to each other and are cylindrical for the purpose of isolation. Insulating sleeves 618 surrounded.
The switch works in the following way: When it is switched off, the switch-off spring 32 moves the insulating rod 34 to the right, as a result of which the double-armed lever 56 is rotated clockwise. First, the upper part of the movable contact piece 5,3 is removed from the contact piece 52, and the auxiliary arc arises, which heats the gas filling in the space 37 and is generated there by pressure.
The lower end of the switching pin 53 then emerges from the stationary switching element 48. At this moment the switch is shown.
The arc to be extinguished thus arises at point 48, which is exposed to the flow of oil that has already formed through the nozzle contact 48 in space 37 under the effect of the overpressure.
The gas spaces 37 and 38 (pressure space and buffer space) together with the liquid column in the pipe ren 44 and 45 form. oscillating system, the natural frequency of which depends on the gas voltage, the size of the pressure spaces and the mass of the liquid column.
By selecting these parameters accordingly, it can be arranged that the maximum flow velocity is present at the extinguishing point when the alternating current to be extinguished passes through zero, while the flow is low at the current maximum.
There are .then ideal extinguishing conditions exist, since .the arc at the current maximum is not caused unnecessarily to take up a high output. The oil column is prevented from being pushed back against the pressure generation point by the soot valve 62.
A further improvement in the interruption is achieved in that the contact piece 48 can spring against the spring 49. In the case of a strong flow, i.e. in the current zero passage, the contact piece 48 is pressed down by the then strong fluid friction and in this way -the interruption distance is extended. In contrast, when the flow is very weak, at the current maximum, the contact element at the top and the interruption section are not extended. The spring 49 must be selected accordingly.
During normal shutdowns, the oil column in the insulating cylinder 65 is not pushed beyond its uppermost edge. In the case of standing arcs, on the other hand, the column is fully or for the most part pushed out of the U-shaped channel and entered space 3.8. The pressure increases so strongly that the membrane 41 bursts and the liquid is ejected from the switching vessel.
After the switch-off, the pressure equalization takes place through the opening 40. If the very small currents are switched off, the pressure generated in the pressure chamber 37 is not sufficient to generate a corresponding flow through the nozzle contact 48. In order to still generate such a flow, the can -61 is provided, which is pressed in at every shutdown by the lower lever arm of the lever 5.6.
As a result, the 01 in the can flows through the extinguishing point. A flow in the opposite direction is prevented by the check valve 62.
Fig. 8 shows the side view of a switch which has additional, externally -attached interruption points. 70 is a parallel contact to the extinguishing point 48, and 71 is an air contact lying in series with the two inner interruption contacts. The current is interrupted inside the switch, and then who opens the two switching points 70 and 71 ge.
The switching point 70 only needs to make a small switch path, since the main insulating path at the switching point 71 is switched on.
