während die nach dem gewählten Beispiel vorgesehenen beiderseitigen Ver längerungen dieser Schneidkanten nicht zum Schnitt kommen, sondern aus der Schnitt linie zum Bohrerschaft hin abgebogen sind. Würde man die einzelnen Darstellungen I, II und III der Fig. 2 aufeinanderlegen, so ergäben die Schneidprofilabschnitte x, y und z ein kreisförmiges Schneidprofil;
Drills, in particular for dental purposes. The invention relates to a drill, in particular for dental purposes, which differs significantly from the known dental drills both in terms of its design and the effects achieved with it, in that it is possible with it to boh under the lowest pressure and nevertheless with the highest effect It is important to avoid hitting the same and also to achieve increased chip evacuation with certainty.
The drill according to the invention, which is intended in particular for dental purposes, differs from known drills of this type in that the individual cutting edges of the drill head are laterally offset relative to one another, bezl. the drilling direction backwards to one another following parts of an uninterrupted cutting profile. The offset edges can complement one another in such a way that smooth surfaces are produced when drilling in the material to be drilled.
This means that the transition from one cutting profile section to the other is fluid. The cutting edges of the individual cutting edges can be curved at the rear - but also towards the shank, so that steps arise in the material to be drilled. When viewed vertically, the individual cutting edges can be straight or curved or wavy or, even more expediently, receive a sickle-shaped shape, in which latter case the attack of the drill on the material to be machined is much easier than if straight cutting edges are selected, so .that the effect of the drill is even more beneficial than z.
B. when selecting straight cutting edges. The cutting edges are advantageously undercut; and have the shape of a shovel.
Known drills have a large number of identical cutting edges on the drilling head, which are placed around the drill head without interruption. They therefore represent milling cutters that require increased pressure in order to be able to perform a work at all. This increased pressure, however, in turn results in increased heat development, which causes an increased @pain sensation in the tooth.
Although one has already with such drills respectively. Millers let the through-going drill cutting edge project over the apex of the drill head by a little compared to the other cutting edges in the axial direction in order to initially achieve a better attack in the material. However, this improvement is only present at the beginning of drilling and is very slight. As soon as the slightly protruding cutting edge has worked its way into the material to be processed, all other cutting edges then engage again at the same time, so that the disadvantages described above arise again.
The pronounced two cutters, on the other hand, have the lack of unsafe guidance and hitting, to which there is then still the imperfect chip removal, which latter defect is, incidentally, peculiar to all known drills and in particular causes excessive heating of the drill during work calls, which causes considerable pain in the patient, but also very quickly leads to the cutting edges of the drill becoming blunt.
All these disadvantages are to be avoided by the drill according to the invention. It has the favorable properties of the so-called two-flute cutter, but avoids the disadvantages mentioned above, such as hitting, poor chip evacuation due to insufficient free space for chip drift and unsafe guidance.
The fact that the individual cutting edges of the drill head are laterally offset to each other, re. the drilling direction to the rear to form parts of an uninterrupted cutting profile following each other, both increased space for the Ab drove the chips is created, and at the same time ensures that the drill is safely guided and does not strike. Even with low pressure it is possible to achieve an excellent, fast drilling effect that meets all conditions.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is illustrated in several embodiments, for example, which can be varied many times without departing from the scope of the invention. 1 shows a side view of a drill whose imaginary drill head casing has a spherical shape, FIG. 2 shows three schematic vertical cross sections I, II and III, which represent axial planes along the lines:
the individual, cutting edges A, A ', B, B' and C, C of a cutting profile composed of these edges through the Bohreraxe are put through, Fig. $ To -6 other example forms of drills according to the invention, Fig. 7 to 9 different embodiment forms of drill cutting edges, Fig. 10 is a representation of a drill in which the cutting edges are curved back towards the shank.
In Figs. 1 and 2, a drill is provided, the head of which has a spherical shape. While Fig. 1 illustrates a view of the most projecting cutting edges C, C1, in Fig. 2 three schematic vertical center sections I, II and III are shown, which represent the axial planes along the edges A, A ', B; B 'and C, C' (Fig. 1) of the divided cutting profile are placed.
From the clockwise direction of rotation the cutting edges A, A 'is the section of the cutting profile designated by x in FIG. 29 (I), from the .Schneidkanten B, B1 to the section designated by y in FIG. 2 (1I) and by the @Cutting edges C, Cl the same in Fig. 2 (III) designated with z section formed,
while the two-sided Ver extensions of these cutting edges provided according to the example chosen do not come to the cut, but are bent from the cutting line to the drill shank. If the individual representations I, II and III of FIG. 2 were to be placed on top of one another, the cutting profile sections x, y and z would result in a circular cutting profile;
however, since the individual cutting profile sections x, y and z are arranged to the rear to the side ver to each other on the drill head, the advantages described above result.
The sections a and b of the 3 cutting edges A, A1 and / or. B, B 'can, as shown, flow over into the polish; However, it is more expedient to remove them up to drill shaft thickness ahead of time, as is indicated at c and d in FIG. In this way, a larger space is obtained for chip removal.
The rearmost cutting edges C, Cl, on the other hand, are carried out up to the polish shank, so that the possibility of cutting remains even when the drill is in a strongly inclined position.
While in Fig. 1 and 2: the polisher head has a spherical shape, in FIGS. 3 to 6, for example, other For men, namely an egg, pear, rod and a cone shape are shown in which the invention with same advantage is applicable.
The profile sections x, y and z of the cutting edges A, A ', B, B' and C, Cl can run straight when looking at the drill perpendicularly (FIG. 7 ) or curved (Fig. 8) or sickle-shaped (Fig. 9) and the cutting edges can be undercut and thus have the shape of a shovel.
While the individual cutting profile sections x, y and z according to FIG. 2, arranged in stepped succession, merge fluidly into one another, according to FIG. 10 this transition is provided in such a way that, transferred to an agial plane, between - See the sections x ', yl and y', z1 form angles through which paragraphs arise in the material to be drilled.
These paragraphs not only form larger and advantageous holding surfaces for material to be introduced into the borehole, respectively. Fillings, but also create levels of resistance to pressure at the same time, which is completely new in cavity preparations and with the known drills and / or. It is not possible to aim for milling cutters.
