Appareil inextinguible pour chauffage on cuisson an bois.
Inextinguishable device for heating or cooking in wood. The object of the. the present invention is an inextinguishable appliance for heating or cooking with wood.
The appended schematic drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus forming the subject of the invention constituting an inextinguishable heater.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section along the broken line I-I of FIG. \ ?: The fi-. 2 is a horizontal section along the line II-I1 of fi. 1, through the grates of the fireplace; Fig. 3 is a front view of the apparatus with the anterior part of the hearth cut along the broken line III-III of FIG. 1.
The inextinguishable apparatus shown, made of sheet steel, is generally prismatic in shape. It has four essential parts, namely: a proper hearth 4, an combustion device with a mixing chamber for the B gases, a combustion chamber for the C gases combined with a heat recovery device and a heating chamber. additional air D. The fireplace A has at its upper part a fuel loading port closed by a door 1.
Behind the door is an orifice 2 with adjustable cover, for the supply of secondary air into the fireplace. The front wall 3 of the hearth is provided, at its upper part, with a passage 4, for the outlet of the gases generated in the hearth.
The bottom of the hearth is closed by a grille in three parts: a front grille 5, arranged vertically, extending from the wall 3.a rear grille 6, inclined and a horizontal grille 7, movable by means of a handle 8, for the removal of ashes which fall into an ashtray 9.
The chamber B for mixing the gases generated in the hearth with outside air is located at the front of the appliance, between the wall 3 of the hearth and an outer jacket. In this chamber is housed the oxidizer device, which comprises a nozzle 10 for the entry of outside air. Its upper orifice is adjustable by a valve 11. The nozzle enters chamber D up to, halfway up and ends with a flared nozzle 1 ?, intended to create, with the bulging side walls of the chamber and a baffle partition of the vein, a vacuum zone (sucks the gases from the hearth, through to port 4, into the mixing chamber.
At its front part, facing the grate and the ashtray 9, the chamber D is provided with a door 8 in which is fitted the sight glass 19, for example made of mica, to control the progress of the combustion.
In sight of grid 5, the gas mixture is divided into two, one part enters the hearth at. through said grate, and the other part passes under the movable grate 7 to move towards the combustion chamber C, along a passage formed by the inclined grate 6 and 1a. inclined wall of chamber D (heating of additional air.
The chamber C for the combustion of gases is arranged at the. posterior part of the appliance, behind the hearth. To recover the heat produced by the combustion of the gas mixture. the chamber C is combined with an exchanger, comprising a series of pipes 1 4 arranged vertically., so that the air in the room can circulate in these pipes in the direction indicated by the arrows finned. 1. A tubing 13 is. planned at. the upper part of the chamber C for the evacuation of the combustion gases.
Finally, the apparatus comprises a chamber D for reheating (the additional air. It is arranged behind the grid 6 and. Has a triangular section, the hypothenuse of which is approximately parallel to the inclination of the grid 6 and the upper edge of which is slightly flattened to form a ramp 15, provided with orifices 16, for the escape of hot air into chamber C. The cool air enters laterally into chamber D through a door 1 7 with air intake adjustment.
At the bottom of the appliance are provided brackets 20 for fixing to a base, and the completely independent outer casing which contains all the constituent parts described and which constitutes the equipment of the appliance, can be be, for example, enamelled sheet metal imitating catellas.
The apparatus described works in the following way: The hearth _1 is filled with logs of wood, introduced by the door 1. The first lighting is done in any way. The gases, in particular carbon monoxide, accumulate towards the upper part of the hearth and are sucked into the mixing chamber P by the vacuum produced by the call for air in the nozzle 10. </ B> The oxidizer mixture thus formed at the outlet 13 of the nozzle, follows the direction of the arrows of fi * 1; one part revolves in the hearth through the grates, while the other part goes to the 0 combustion chamber where it mixes with the additional heated air, exiting through the holes 16, increasing the caloric effect and making:
the recovery device 1.1 most of the heat of the combustion gases, before their evacuation through the pipe 13.
The calorifier described is in continuous operation, the combustion of the gaseous mixture taking place most of the time outside the hearth -I. The fuel, in this case wood, distils at a slow fire :, so that the hearth acts as a gasifier. From time to time, to revive the combustion in the fireplace, orifice 2 is opened, thus producing a call for secondary air.
With a slight transformation, the appliance could be used as a gasifier for wood heating of various types of fireplaces. It would suffice to remove the recuperator device 1-l. arranged in the combustion chamber C and to conform it to a burner, by means of a nozzle which would launch the flame, for example in the hearth of a central heating boiler. hot water, from a vegetable garden or any other heating or cooking device.
The main advantage of the apparatus described resides in a better and rational use of wood, allowing it to fight advantageously with charcoal or corn. From the point of view of the national economy, the apparatus is of great importance, especially in countries rich in timber and devoid of coal or heavy oil.
