6 Hol Ilexamethylentetramin gibt.
Process for the production of a condensation product from urea, thiourea, formaldehyde and hegamethylenetetramine. In the main patent no. 1 $ 3465 a process for the production of a hardenable condensation product from urea, formaldehyde and hexamethylenetetramine is described, characterized in that a non-hardenable condensation product from urea,
Formaldehyde and hexamethylenetetramine treated with formaldehyde.
It has now been found that in this process it is also possible to start from such an uncurable condensation product in which part of the urea is replaced by thiourea.
The transfer to the curable state can be followed with or without the supply of heat. Curing can be accelerated by adding an acidic contact agent.
The acidic contact agent can, if desired, be added to the hardening formaldehyde to be added or to the already hardenable but not yet hardened mixture of the non-hardenable condensation product with formaldehyde.
The hardening, formaldehyde can be added in several proportions. For example, some of the formaldehyde can be added to dried press powder in the form of dry polymers of formaldehyde.
<I> Example 1: </I> The uncurable urea-thiourea-formaldehyde condensation product used as the starting material is produced as follows:
450 parts of urea (7.5 mol), 190 parts of thiourea (2.5 mol) and 94 parts of hexamethylene tetramine (0.67 mol) are dissolved in 500 parts of 30% formaldehyde (5 mol) and then 4 parts Oxalic acid.
Water is then distilled off from the solution at 60 to 70 'under reduced pressure for one hour, then condensation continues for 1 to 20 hours at 60'.
The thus obtained, non-hardenable product is now in the cold with 1000 parts of 30% formaldehyde solution (10 mol) ver sets, kneaded with cellulose, dried and ground. The powder obtained is pressed in the hot press,
At a pressing pressure of 100 to 200 kg! cm 'it shows very good flow properties and can be ejected after a pressing time of 1 to 3 minutes at around 140 as a very hard and shiny pressed part: the one against the end handle is very resistant to hot and cold water.
<I> Example 2: </I> For the purpose of producing the non-hardenable condensation product, 540 parts of urea (9 mol) and 228 parts of thiourea (3 mol) are added to 1160 parts of 30% formaldehyde solution (11.6 mol) and 163 parts Parts of 25% ammonia solution (2.4 mol) dissolved, the ammonia together with 3.6 mol of formaldehyde 0,
6 Hol Ilexamethylenetetramine there. A further 1.9 parts of oxalic acid are added, the mixture is then heated to <B> 60 '</B> for 2 hours and then distilled under reduced pressure at from 60 to <B> 701 </B> 1000 parts of water. A clear solution is created. If a sample of the same is brought to 120 to 140 'for several hours, it will become cloudy but not hard at these temperatures.
After cooling down, the mass is hard and gives a cloudy solution with water.
1000 parts of 30% formaldehyde (10 mol) are added to the distilled solution of the non-hardenable product, the mixture is left to stand with cooling for 24 hours and then processed in a known manner to give press powder.
