Sicherungsvorrichtung an Schleifmaschinen.
Safety device on grinding machines. Due to the substantial increase in the speed of the grinding wheels of grinding machines, which has recently taken place, the risk of explosion or other destruction of the grinding wheels has increased significantly. Therefore, in the interest of accident prevention, better safety devices are required than the known protective covers, which could hardly be sufficient even at low speeds. It is required that the edge of the protective cover should have a minimal distance from the grinding wheel and that the angle within which the grinding wheel is exposed should not exceed a certain size (approx. 40).
Since the diameter of the grinding wheels decreases over time due to wear and tear, these demands require adjustable protective covers. It has now been proposed to arrange an adjustable protective cover at one end of the protective cover, which can be clamped by means of screws .. There is also the possibility of setting a movable protective cover and to secure the same in its position at one end of the protective cover To use gear or worm gear.
Given the enormous force inherent in the omitted grinding stone pieces, there is a risk with such devices that teeth or screw threads will be sheared off when a piece of grinding stone hits the movable protective hood.
The present invention relates to a safety device on grinding machines, which is characterized according to the invention by a protective cover which protrudes beyond this end of the protective cover and which protrudes beyond this end of the protective cover and for the adjustment of which there is an adjustment device at one end of the grinding wheel partially surrounding the grinding wheel, and because of the fact that to secure the position of the protective cover when the grinding wheel is smashed on both side walls of the protective cover brakes. with on the side walls: the protective hood acting horny are provided.
The combination of a separate one adjusting device with the brakes mentioned as: Safety device on the one hand allows effortless, irreversible readjustment and a perfect backup when grinding disks burst.
In: the drawing eats an example embodiment of the subject invention is shown. 1 shows a side view of the securing device on a grinding machine, FIG. 2 shows a section along line II in FIG. 1 on a larger scale, cover lifted off in front of the horny, FIG. 3 shows a section along line II-II in FIG 1 on a larger scale and FIG. 4 shows a section along line III-III in FIG. 1 on a larger scale.
1 with the axis of a Schleifma.schirre and 2 with its grinding wheel. 3 is the 'fixed' protective cover surrounding the 'grinding wheel on most of its circumference. At one end of this fixed protective cover 3, a protective cover 5 is pivotally mounted on a bolt 4, which over; the protective cover 3 protrudes. The front end of this pivotable protective hood 5 lies hard over the circumference of the grinding wheel 2 and protrudes so far that only a section of about 40 of the grinding wheel 2 is exposed.
As the diameter of the grinding wheel becomes smaller due to wear and tear and dressing, the protective hood 5 can be adjusted so that no more than a section of approximately 40 is exposed from the grinding wheel 2 and between the grinding wheel 2 and the front end: the protective hood 5 there is never a larger gap than there is with a new pane.
To readjust the .Schutzhaube 5: a mounted in the fixed protective cover 3 spindle 6, the outer end of which is provided with a handwheel 7 and which carries a worm thread 8. At the edge of one side wall of the protective hood 5 there is a toothing 9 which engages with the worm thread 8 of the spindle 6.
The adjustment, the: movable protective hood 5 can be done in a simple manner by turning the handwheel 7. Now, however, the worm thread 8 of the spindle 6 and the toothing 9 engaging with it on the side wall of the protective hood 5 are not sufficient to keep the protective hood 5 in position in the event of an explosion or other shattering of the grinding wheel 2 to back up.
The force of any grinding wheel pieces that might fly away is so great that if no special means were provided and if a grinding wheel piece should hit the front part of the movable protective hood 5, the teeth that mesh with the worm thread: 8, the toothing 9 sheared off or:
the worm thread 8 would be intersected by the teeth. For .denfalliner shattering of the grinding wheel 2, a special device for securing the movable protective hood 5 is therefore seen in its position. Guide blocks 10 are welded into the two side walls of the fixed “protective cover”. These guide blocks 10 have grooves 11 into which the side walls of the movable protective hood 5 engage.
Adjacent to these grooves 11, wedge guide grooves 12 are arranged in the guide blocks 10, in which grooves 13 are guided which are under the action of springs 14. The wedges 13 lie with a surface occupied by opposing teeth on the parts of the side walls of the movable side walls lying in the grooves 11:
Protective hood 5 on. Their arrangement is such that they counteract an opening of the movable protective hood forwards. The wedge guide grooves 12 in the guide blocks 10 are open at the top. You will bring the wedges 13 by welding a cover 15 closed after a.
This cover 15 'leaves a gap 16 against the side wall of the movable protective hood 5 lying in the groove 11, through which it can be seen whether the wedge 1.3 is in the wedge guide grooves and is engaged. The wedges 13 are made of hardened steel, while the side walls of the movable protective hood are made of soft mild iron.
If a blow-off grinding wheel piece hits the front part of the movable protective hood 5, the braking effect of the wedges 13 comes into operation. Your opposing teeth dig into the soft flux iron of the side walls of the movable protective hood, 5 and inhibit an Aufklap pen of the same on the shortest path. At the same time, however, the protective cover 5 remains very flexible, through which excessive fragmentation of the grinding wheel parts is avoided.
Another advantage in addition to the easy readjustment and perfect safeguarding of the movable protective cover of this safety device shown is that once the movable protective cover has been reset, it cannot be reversed because the wedges would also have an inhibiting effect. So there is no risk that the adjustment of the movable protective hood could be made ineffective due to carelessness or other reasons.
