Die Wirkung der durch die Konkav kurven bestimmten Vertiefungen an der Tragflügeloberfläche ist folgende: Wenn sich der Tragflügel betriebsmässig vorwärts bewegt, entsteht über der Tragflügelober fläche hinter der Ansatzstelle der Konkav kurve im Profil ein "Luftloch" (Vakuum), durch welches ein Ansaugen des Tragflügels nach oben stattfindet. Der Tragflügel wird daher durch Vertiefungen, welche vor dem Druckmittelpunkt f liegen, steigende Ten denz erhalten;
Hydrofoils for motor planes and gliders. The invention relates to a wing for motor and glider planes and be intended to improve its lift ratios ver.
According to the invention this is achieved by Ver depressions on the surface of the wing.
In the drawing, four execution examples of the subject invention are Darge provides. The figures show the profiles of the wings. For all profiles, the lower curve line a-c indicates the course of the un tern surface of the wing, which has no peculiarities compared to the usual shapes. In contrast, the course of the wing surfaces between a and c differs in all the exemplary embodiments from the usual embodiment in that the convex curves starting at the profile nose a-b and respectively. a-b1 merge into concave curves.
In all exemplary embodiments, point f indicates the center of pressure Ms of the wing, that is to say that point in the profile which could be loaded without the aircraft changing its equilibrium position in the longitudinal direction. The arrows e show the flight direction in all execution examples.
The concave curves in the profile who determine the depressions on the surface of the wing, which are different in number and arrangement in the four embodiments.
In the example according to FIG. 1, the concave curve starts at b and changes continuously into a convex curve that ends at c. The approach to the concave curve is in the direction of flight in front of the pressure center f.
According to FIG. 2, the concave curve b-d rises again before the convex curve d-c starts. The approach of the concave curve at b is again in front of the pressure center f in the direction of flight.
3 shows a profile with a concave curve b-b, and a subsequent further gonkQv curve bi-d, both concave curves start in the direction of flight in front of the pressure center point f.
Fig. 4 illustrates a profile with four concave curves which start at bi., B2, b3, b4 on the wing surface. The concave curves b1-b2 and b2-b3 set in the direction of flight, the other concave curves after the center of pressure f.
The effect of the depressions on the wing surface determined by the concave curves is as follows: When the wing moves forward during operation, an "air hole" (vacuum) is created above the wing surface behind the attachment point of the concave curve in the profile, through which a suction of the wing takes place upwards. The wing is therefore obtained by indentations which lie in front of the pressure center f, increasing tendency;
while depressions that fly behind the point will result in a decreasing tendency of the wing. With a suitable distribution of several depressions in front of and behind the center of pressure, the lift can be improved without affecting the equilibrium of the aircraft in the direction of its longitudinal axis.
The rise of the concave curves behind the pressure center (Fig. 2, 3 and 4) results in a profile in which the painting air masses push the wing behind the pressure center down, so that it also has an increasing tendency.
