Process Equipment for the production of centrifugally cast fittings. There are already methods and devices known in which on a hori zontal rotary plate forms who are attached to who the liquid metal from a central sprue through radially angeord designated: channels through which the centrifugal force drives the metal, is fed.
The disadvantage of these devices is that the unavoidable slag introduced by the pouring does not have time to separate from the metal, but is immediately driven into the molds, resulting in a high percentage of rejects.
This disadvantage is remedied according to the method according to the present invention by first introducing the liquid metal into a pre-centrifugal chamber, in which the slag separates from the metal and remains, while the metal freed from the slag overflows under the centrifugal force of the molds is led to.
The device according to the invention for carrying out the method has a centrally arranged pre-centrifugal chamber to which the metal is to be fed and which has overflows to: the z. B. radially or tangentially arranged channels after the shapes connect.
An embodiment of the Einrich device, on the basis of which the method is explained in example, is in the accompanying drawing .darstellung schematically, in which Fig. 1 shows the device in vertical section, while Fig. 2 is a horizontal section along line II-II in Fig.1 represents.
On the HorizonW Drehplatte 1, which rotates with the vertical shaft 2, For men 3 are fastened in a manner not shown be. A centrally arranged chamber 4, the pre-centrifugal chamber, is formed by a recess in the plate 1 and a plate 5. The chamber is closed off by a cover 6 with a central pouring opening 7. In the upper part of the chamber 4 overflows 8 are provided, on which the channels 9 arranged radially here are located.
which lead to the individual forms, connect.
The liquid metal is poured in through the pouring opening 7 and arrives in the pre-centrifugal chamber I. In the latter, as indicated in the drawing by a dashed line, the centrifugal force of a paraboloid causes the lighter slag to appear - parts will collect in the middle at 14. The metal, thoroughly cleaned from the slag in this way, rises from the outside.
up on the wall of the pre-centrifugal chamber and overflows, the overflows 8 in the channels 9 and so enters the molds 3. The amount of metal is measured so that it fills the shapes and channels; however, an excess of metal can also be used, which creates an Augussring in the pre-centrifugal chamber. The cover, which is expediently designed in two parts, enables the castings to be taken out with the pouring ring.
The quality of the cleaning of the metal from the slag depends on the height of the centrifugal chamber at the corresponding speed of the machine. The shapes can be arranged in any number and can also be at an angle to the axis of rotation and not just perpendicular as in the exemplary embodiment.
