Patent Nr.181365 be wirkt werden.
Braun tube, in particular for television purposes. The result of the invention is a brown tube, in particular for television purposes. It has already been proposed to concentrate the controlled electron beam coming from the cathode on a diaphragm and to use a suitable electron-optical system for this diaphragm on the screen.
In this arrangement, the deflection system is located between the electron optical system and the fluorescent screen.
It has also already been proposed to use a so-called "electron gun" and to achieve the concentration by a field which is generated by a high voltage metallic coating of the tube bulb.
With this arrangement, the concentration takes place through the entire space between the fluorescent screen and the electron gun. fulfilling field lines.
In this arrangement, the deflection systems are arranged within the concentration field itself, so that the field distribution in the vicinity of the first deflection system is different from that in the vicinity of the second deflection system. As a result, it is not possible with these arrangements to work with electrostatic deflection systems.
These known arrangements do not make it possible to produce television pictures which have a structure which is uniform over their entire surface.
The subject of the invention is a Braun tube with which the generation of fully uniform images is possible.
According to the invention, a pinhole diaphragm is illuminated by the electron beam controlled in its intensity and this is imaged on the screen by an electron-optical system, the deflection being made in the space between the diaphragm to be imaged and the imaging system.
The diaphragm is expediently displayed on the screen by an electron-optical system acting as a relatively narrow (for example 3 cm thick) converging lens.
The deflection required to generate the grid is preferably carried out in a completely field-free space.
The distraction can be achieved by a system that preferably effects both distractions in the same plane, for example according to Switzerland. Patent No. 181365 be effective.
Between the electron optical system and the fluorescent screen, a substantially field-free space is created before geous.
An embodiment of the tube according to the invention is shown by way of example in the figures, namely: FIG. 1 shows a possible overall arrangement of the tube, while FIG. 2 shows a special embodiment of the preconcentration system, and FIG. 3 shows an embodiment of the deflection system ; 4 and 5 show particularly Ausfüh approximate forms of the lens.
In Fig. 1, 1 means the tubular piston, which consists of the neck 2 and the piston part 3, which is preferably spherical. The fluorescent screen 4 can either be hung in the flask or formed as a fluorescent layer 5 attached directly to the flask wall.
The electrons coming from the expediently indirectly heated flat cathode with the emissive layer embedded in the surface of the cathode 6 are pre-concentrated on the diaphragm 10 by a system consisting of the cylinder 7 and the pre-anode 8 and another cylinder 9. The cylinder 7 can have a weakly negative bias voltage, the pre-anode 8 and the diaphragm 10 are at a weakly positive potential (for example -I-300 volts) and the potential of the cylinder 9 against the diaphragm 8 can be weakly negative ( for example -j- 200 volts).
The control takes place by applying the control alternating voltage to the control plate 11, which is arranged in the cylinder 7, preferably in the dark space distance from the cathode 6, preferably in conductive connection with the cylinder. The system can be set in such a way that the electron beam is at its greatest Intensi ity through the small opening 12 of the diaphragm 10 (for example 1 mmü) without masking, that is to say passes through without loss of electrons.
The aperture 12 is imaged on the fluorescent screen by the electron-optical system consisting of the perforated plate 13 and the annular collar 14. The distances between the aperture to be depicted and the lens on the one hand (object distance) and the lens and the fluorescent screen on the other hand can preferably be dimensioned in such a way (for example in the ratio 2: 1) that the aperture on the screen is reduced (e.g. 1 : 2) is mapped. For example, the object width can be measured at 300 and the image width at 150 mm.
The ring plate 13, which is on a never drigen positive potential - preferably the same potential as the aperture 10, also has the task of shielding the alternating field of the deflection plates from the lens.
The deflection system 17, 18 whose opening facing the plate 13 is expediently kept larger than the inlet opening, be it by inclined or by parabolic design of the deflection elements, can expediently be as close as possible to the plate 13, for example at a distance of we nigen millimeters are arranged from the same.
The deflection system is, as already stated, arranged in the completely field-free space between the electrodes 10 and 13. The space between these electrodes can be shielded from the outside by a metal tube connecting the electrodes or by a correspondingly long metallization of the flask neck, which is at the same potential as the electrodes 10 and 13.
The second electrode of the elektronenopti's system, the ring plate 14, is useful as a narrow, respectively. very narrow ring formed tightly fitting the piston wall. Part of the piston wall between this electrode and the fluorescent screen is provided with a metallic coating 15, which is conductively connected to the electrode 14 and is consequently at the same potential as this (for example 2000 volts).
Since the bulb wall recedes closely behind the electrode, the relatively weak field between the electrode 14 and the fluorescent screen is practically hardly involved in the optical effect of the system.
The metallization of the bulb essentially has the effect of neutralizing the wall charges and avoiding the same deformations of the image format.
Instead of connecting the metallic coating 15 to the electrode 14, it is useful at times to share a weak potential (for example around 100 to 300 volts) negative against the electrode 14.
Instead of the preconcentration system shown in FIG. 1, the system shown in FIG. 2 can also be used, for example. In the figure be means: 6 the cathode, 7 the, as described in Fig. 1, formed cylinder with the control plate 11, 8 a pre-anode and 10 the diaphragm with the opening 12. The system is through a suitable choice of the voltages of the art adjusted so that the cathode ray passes through the opening 12 at its greatest intensity without being faded out.
In this embodiment, it is particularly important to correctly measure the size and spacing of the individual elements. If the Wehnelt cylinder 7 is to be operated with a very weak negative bias voltage (for example in the state "bright" = "o") and at the front anode 8, a weak positive potential of for example '-, 300 volts, the diameter of the Cylinder 7 to 10 mm, the distance between the plate 11 from the edge of the cylinder ("the countersink") to 1.5 mm and the distance from the cylinder 7 from the plate 8 to 2 mm.
In the previously known Braunsehen tubes, the deflection systems in the Röh renachse are arranged one behind the other, namely at a relatively large distance from each other.
The systems must be installed at a comparatively large distance from one another in these arrangements, since otherwise the deflection fields will interfere with one another, which will result in distortions and distortions of the image.
However, this known interconnection of the deflection systems has the consequence that the distance between the fulcrums of the beam in the two deflection directions and the lens is different so that the conditions under which the beam passes the lens are not the same for the two deflection directions and that the lens must also have a very large opening.
It is therefore expedient to use a system for deflection which enables the deflection to be carried out in both directions in the same plane without the deflection fields influencing one another.
The line deflection is advantageously carried out using an electrostatic field, while an electromagnetic field is used for image deflection. In this case, as static deflection plates, the elements are expediently designed themselves as pole shoes for the magnets to effect the image deflection. These plates can also expediently be arranged inclined to one another or formed from a curve.
Such an embodiment of the steering system from is shown in Fig. 8, for example.
This means: 1 the tube neck, 17 and 18 the deflecting elements, which are supplied with the voltages required for static deflection in a manner known per se and which are also designed as pole pieces for the magnetos 19 and 20 causing the image deflection.
The pole shoes are advantageously made of a strongly ferromagnetic and practically inertia-free material, for example Permaloi. The elements 17 and 18 are preferably designed such that they come as close as possible to the tube wall. The tube 1-6 connecting the screens 10 and 18 to one another can in this case be expediently provided with cutouts through which the elements 1 7 and 18 protrude.
Instead of the lens indicated in FIG. 1, various other embodiments can also be used. So it is possible to provide the glass bulb 1 at the point where the lens is to be attached with two mutually insulated metallic coatings, one of which is placed on a weak and the other on a strongly positive potential.
In this case, the refractive power of the lens is determined, among other things, by the distance between the two annular coatings and can be adjusted as desired by changing this distance.
In this embodiment, too, it is expedient to shield the deflection systems from the lens field by means of a diaphragm, which can expediently be at the potential of the weakly positive coating.
An embodiment of such a lens is shown in FIG. 4, for example, Darge provides. This means: 1 the glass bulb, 17 and 18 the deflection elements, 13 the aluminum screen. The two coverings 21 and 15 are arranged on the glass wall itself. The lining 21 is a weak positive potential (example, 800 volts), the lining 15, the anode potential (for example 2000 volts to out).
In order to prevent a further significant influence on the beam in the space between the electron lens and the fluorescent screen, a screen 14 is expediently arranged, which can consist of a narrow ring collar, and this is preferably connected to .dem metallic coating 15 conductively . The diaphragm 14 can also be replaced by a metallic tube 22 which projects a short distance, for example 5 mm to 8 cm, into the piston chamber (FIG. 5) and is conductively connected to the lining 15.
It is also possible to use electron-optical systems of different types instead of the lens shape described.
It is advisable to also metallize the tube on the outside at those points where the inner coating is located at a low positive potential and to earth this outer coating.
