Fig. 1 zeih die erste Ausführungsform in.
Device for duplicating originals provided with printable mirror writing. The invention relates to a device for duplicating originals with printable mirror writing, arranged on a printing drum on sheets, which are successively fed to a moistening device on a feed table, through which their surface by means of a rapidly evaporating, the color of:
Spie gelschrift dissolving liquid is moistened, means are provided which cause relative movements between the moistening device and the feed table to enable the introduction of the leaves and moistening the same.
The invention aims to simplify the construction of such devices. According to the invention, the printing drum carries a control element which both fixes the printing drum in its initial position and regulates the relative movements between the moistening device and feed table by acting on a transmission element.
The starting position of the printing drum is that which the drum has to assume at the beginning of an imprint.
The control member can be formed by a stop formed on the printing drum which has a recess into which the transmission member formed by a lever engages in the starting position of the printing drum, whereby the printing drum is fixed in this position and the feed table and the moistening device are held in such a position relative to one another that a.
unhindered feeding of the sheet to be printed onto the feed table can be followed by the moistening device.
The stop may have a surface which comes into contact with the lever when the drum is rotated before the starting position is reached, whereby this acts the relative movement between the feed table and the moistening device in the position suitable for the introduction of the sheet. In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the device and a partial variant are shown schematically.
Fig. 1 shows the first embodiment in side view, partly in section, with the front frame wall removed; Fig. 2 shows another embodiment of the moistening device; FIG. 3 shows the second embodiment in a representation similar to that in FIG. 1.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, 1 is the hollow printing drum, open at both ends, 2 a counter-pressure roller, 3 the moistening device, 4 the frame of the device and 9 the feed table on which the sheet to be printed is fed. The hub of the printing drum provided with spokes 7 is attached to the shaft 1 a which carries a hand crank 13 and which is mounted in the frame 4.
The control organ attached to the printing drum is formed by a stop 5 which is attached to one of the spokes 7.
The ends of the counter-pressure roller 2 are mounted in arms 2a which swing around 4 axes attached to the frame 2b. The counter-pressure roller is pressed against the printing drum 1 by means of adjustable springs 2c.
The conveniently made of light metal forth printing drum 1 has on the inside a parallel to the axis verlau Fende bead, in which a slot 6 of sufficient width is provided, for example, is cut to the front edge of the original and to hold it, the depth of this Slot is chosen so
that the stop formed by the slotted base ensures that the original is correctly positioned. This slot is directed backwards with respect to the feed direction of the sheet to be printed, as well as with respect to the direction of rotation of the drum 1, so that when the original is inserted into the slot, it is secured against displacement that is due and the application of a special one Clamping device for the original becomes unnecessary.
The stop 5, which has a straight stop surface 7 ′ and a recess 7 c, acts on the transmission element formed by a lever 8. The lever 8 can be pivoted about a bolt 8b on the frame 4 and carries a roller 8a at its upper end.
At the upper left end of the moistening device 3, which is carried by the lever 8, a spring 3a engages, which endeavors to move the lower right end of the moistening device down the feed table 9. The moistening device has a strip 3 'made of absorbent material, for example felt, which is attached in a light metal housing, from which the front part of the strip which effects moistening protrudes.
The housing can be conveniently made from a single piece of metal by bending. In the container 3b is the. Rapidly evaporating liquid that dissolves the color of the mirror writing of the original. with which the felt is soaked.
The feed table 9 can expediently be made from a single piece of sheet metal. To achieve greater rigidity, its front gante has an edge part 9a which is bent downwards. A bar 10. which serves as a lateral guide for the sheets to be introduced, can be conveniently formed by a strip that is punched out of the table top and bent upwards at a right angle.
The stop 5 and the slot 6 in the printing drum are arranged relative to one another in such a way that when the roller 8a engages in the recess 7e of the stop, the drum 1 is fixed in its starting position. In this position of the drum, as shown in the drawing, the slot 6 and thus also the front part of the original are located on the drum 1 immediately in front of the line of contact between the drum and the counter-pressure roller 2.
This ensures that when he grasps a sheet fed to the feed table 9 in this position of the parts through drum 1 and counter-pressure roller 2, slot 6 and thus also the front part of the original is near the contact line of drum 1 and the roller 2, so be found in the correct position to the sheet fed.
The operation of the device is as follows: If the printing drum 1 is in the starting position shown in the drawing, a sheet is fed to the feed table 9 until the edge of the sheet is at the line of contact of the drum 1 and the roller 2. If the printing drum 1 is now rotated by means of the crank 13, the roller 8a leaves the recess 7c of the stop 5 so that the lever 8 can swing out and the moistening device through the action of the spring 3a on the feed table 9 fed sheet that is to be moistened and printed, ge is lowered.
Simultaneously with this process, the edge: of the sheet fed on the feed table is detected by drum 1 and roller 2, so that when the drum continues to rotate, the original is imprinted on the moistened sheet. Thereafter, before the drum 1 fully rotates, the surface 7 'of the stop 5 comes into contact with the roller 8a on the lever 8, as a result of which the moistening device 3 is lifted from the feed table 9 and a new sheet can be fed onto the table.
With further rotation of the drum 1, the roller 8 re-enters the recess 7c of the stop 5, whereupon the described process is repeated.
In the embodiment of the moistening device illustrated in FIG. 2, an elongated slot 3c or a series of holes is provided in the upper part of the housing containing the felt strips, through which the volatilizing liquid can be poured onto the felt strip and through which the air has access. These holes are closed by a cap 11, whereby the air pressure and thus also the flow rate can be regulated by moving the cap.
In this embodiment, the moistening device can be designed to be simple in design and light in weight, so that its movement, controlled by the stop 5, does not in any way prevent the device from working.
In the embodiment of the device according to FIG. 3, the moistening device 3 is firmly attached to the frame 4. The transmission member, on which the stop 5 acts on the drum 1, is formed by a lever 18 which carries a roller 18a and which is fastened at one end to the feed table 9.
The feed table, on which springs 9b act, is pivotable about pins 9c, which are attached to the frame 4, and is thereby reached that .the roller 18a of the lever 18 in contact with the ge curved surface 7a of the stop 5, by means of the Lever 18 removed from the dampening device to enable the introduction of a new sheet to be printed.
The mode of operation of this embodiment is similar to that described above: In the illustrated starting position of the drum 1, the sheet to be printed on the table 9 is fed.
If the drum 1 is now rotated by means of the crank 13, the roller 18a leaves the recess 7b of the stop 5, the lever 18 is released and the springs 9b swing the table 9 and the pins 9e, whereby the front part of the feed table is raised and the sheet on it is brought into contact with the protruding parts of the moistening felt of the moistening device. The table is expediently made of light metal so that its movement in no way complicates the printing work.
