Process to reduce the drying out of moist substances applied to a support. The present invention relates to a method for reducing the drying out of moist substances applied to a substrate, for example on paper, fabric, etc.
The known, versatile colored ribbons and carbon paper, such as for example for accounting, billing, duplicating and typing machines, are known to have the disadvantage that they dry out within a very short time.
This disadvantage can be avoided by the present method. The same prevents the moist substance from drying out prematurely, in that the moisture can only escape to one side at most.
The method according to the invention consists in that the base is provided with an adhesive and drying protective coating on at least one side.
The coating can consist, for example, of adhesive synthetic resins, for example of the polyvinyl acetate type, with the addition of appropriate plasticizers and solvents. The coating composition can, however, also contain rubber solutions or rubber-replacing plastics as a base.
The coating composition can be colorless or any color, it can be applied to the prepared base, for example to the cut and pretreated ribbon, before or after the application of the moist substance. The application can take place in the most varied of ways, be it by rolling on, brushing, spraying ETC.
The production could also be done in such a way that the material forming the base, for example the paper, the cut color ribbon is simply pulled through the coating compound that is in solution and only subsequently coated on one side with the substance that is to remain moist.
In addition to Xopier sheets, etc., bandages in the manner of the known Leu koplast, bandages, etc., can be provided with the coating described after the disinfecting and adhesive substance has been applied. Wherever a moist substance has been applied to one side of a surface of any consistency, the method is advantageously used. The side provided with the coating compound can be provided with advertising text or images, which was previously not possible with this type of ribbons and the like.
