Gas switch for liquid heater. The invention relates to a gas switch intended for liquid heaters, the gas valve of which is actuated by a pressure gradient generated in the liquid path. In such gas switches, it is known to arrange an auxiliary valve parallel to the stationary device (throttle) generating the pressure gradient in a bypass, which opens and releases a secondary path for the liquid as soon as the pressure gradient at the throttle point exceeds a certain size.
Up to now, in gas switches with a fixed throttle device, the auxiliary valve had been arranged separately from it outside the housing that received the throttle device. However, this made it more difficult to install and remove the auxiliary valve, and a special guide housing was also required for the auxiliary valve.
The invention avoids these disadvantages and simplifies the construction of the gas switch in that the auxiliary valve is accommodated in the passage of the throttle device accommodating the housing and is arranged concentrically therewith. The throttle body "here expediently receives passages for the diversion of the liquid uni the throttle sel and is also designed as a seat for the auxiliary valve.
In the drawing, some exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown, namely: Fig. 1 is a diagram of a flow heater, partially in section, Fig. 2 and 3 a throttle device with auxiliary valve on a larger scale, and Fig. 4 is a plan view of the throttle body . 10 is a gas supply line and 11 is a valve in this line. When the valve 11 is open, the gas flows to the burner 12 and the burner flames heat the water flowing in the pipe 13.
The water is supplied through line 14 and, before it reaches the heater, flows through a throttle body 15, which is designed as a venturi tube and is fastened in a housing 16 by means of a screw 17. The gas valve 11 is connected to a membrane 18 which divides a housing into two chambers 19, 20. The lower chamber 19 is connected to the water supply line through a bore 21 and the upper chamber 20 is connected to the narrowest point of the Venturi tube 15 through a line 22 and stanchions 23.
If water flows through the heater, a pressure drop occurs in the venturi 15 and as a result in the chamber 20, so that the pressure of the unthrottled water in the chamber 19 pushes the membrane 18 up against the force of a spring 24 and opens the gas valve 11. So that the pressure gradient acting on the membrane 18 at the throttle point does not become excessively high when there is a large amount of water being withdrawn, several bypass channels 25 are provided in the throttle body 15, which are normally closed by a valve body 26 arranged concentrically with the venturi 15, which is loaded by a spring 31.
The Venturi tube 15 has a shoulder which forms a seat 27 for the valve body 26 '. The auxiliary valve 26 and the diversions 25 are thus arranged in the passage of the housing in which the venturi is seated. The venturi and the auxiliary valve can easily be inserted and removed in this arrangement. For this purpose only a union nut 28 needs to be loosened and part 29 of the housing removed.
In the device of Fig. 2, the valve body 26 is attached to an annular membrane 30, which is clamped with its inner edge in a groove in the Venturi tube. The valve body here consists of a sheet metal that surrounds the outer edge of the membrane.
The device according to Fig. 3 differs from that according to Fig. 2 in that the membrane 30 of the auxiliary valve 26 is clamped between the two housing parts 16 and 29.
