Socket for electric light bulbs. In the conventional incandescent lamp sockets, the individual components, namely the contact-protecting covers, can easily be unscrewed; they can therefore easily be lost. Furthermore, the lamp sockets available on the market, in the case of d (# - uri, after removing the contact protection ring and the jacket, the remaining exposed base with threaded sleeve allows mounting of the incandescent lamp, a major source of danger for the non-specialist.
The use of unprotected, live lamp sockets should now be switched off and the layman forced to have the lamp socket repaired by a specialist). Basically, after unscrewing the contact protection ring (combined with the jacket), the threaded sleeve on the socket base should no longer be used, i.e. the remaining part of the socket can no longer be used as a naked bulb holder.
The version according to the present invention is now able to meet these requirements.
The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention a.Urch Fig. 1 in longitudinal section; Fig. 2 is an underside of the socket base and Fig. 3 is a plan view of the socket shell.
1 denotes the cap made of insulating material with an external thread on the lower edge for screwing on the jacket 2 made of insulating material, which is combined with the contact protection ring into a single piece. The socket base 3 made of insulating material is inserted into the cap 1 . 4 is a cover plate made of insulating material and fitted in the cap 1, and a threaded sleeve made of copper, which serves as a light bulb carrier and is arranged in the jacket 2.
A metal nipple 6 with an internal thread is inserted in the upper part of the cap 1 to accommodate the mounting tube.% (Not shown). The locking screw 7 , which also holds the cover plate 4 in place, is screwed into the nipple 6 . At I and II, the supply wires are connected, from which the current is led to the center contact _M and to the contact lamella 8 attached to the underside of the socket 3 .
What is characteristic of the new design is that the threaded sleeve 5 is no longer attached to the base 3 , but two diametrical forms 5 ' (Fig. 1) , which are received by two diametrical grooves 21 in the Man tel 2 non-rotatable. The socket 3 together with the threaded sleeve 5 and the contact lamella 8 are screwed into the cap 1 by screwing the jacket 2 held.
If the non-specialist unscrews the jacket 2 or if this jacket is lost, the rest of the socket part can no longer be used to hold an incandescent lamp, since the threaded sleeve as the main socket part is missing.
The nipple 6 used to attach the socket to the supply pipe has a narrowed passage 61 at the lower end so that the supply pipe can no longer be screwed in too deeply if the cable is not installed carefully Can injure the cavity or cause a short circuit. The locking screw 7 prevents twisting and loosening of the socket on or. from the supply pipe.
The lower part 61 of the nipple 6 is for the most part separated from the bent part of the nipple by a saw cut 63 , that is to say resilient to a limited extent, and has the nut thread for the very hood 7 whose tip rests on the upper part of the nipple.
# When the screw 7 is now tightened, the spring force forced on the lower part of the nipple creates a self-locking in the pipe thread to secure the connection between the feed tube and nipple 6. The cover plate 4 The purpose of this is to cover the metal nipple 6 mainly in the event that the lead wires would have become detached from the base terminals through careless connection of the lead wires and could thus cause a short circuit with their ends through contact with metal.
The head of the screw 7 is countersunk in the plate 4 in order to avoid any contact with cables.
