Description
Liquid filling device that prevents the containers to be filled from overflowing. The invention relates to a liquid filling device which prevents the containers to be filled from overflowing and is particularly suitable, for example, when recharging batteries with water.
According to the invention, the liquid filling device consists of two pieces of pipe, where one is used for air admission and the other is used for liquid outflow, which pipe pieces are designed and arranged in such a way that an automatic interruption of the liquid flow when a certain level is reached in the filled container is aimed at.
In the drawing, an example embodiment of the subject invention is shown in section.
A conical cork stopper 2 is pushed onto the upper end of a slightly curved outlet pipe 1. The lower end of the tube 1 has a lateral recess 4 that leaves the lowest edge 3 of the tube as a seat. An air supply pipe 5 is soldered into the outlet pipe 1, the lower end of which opens directly above the recess 4, while its upper end protrudes from the upper mouth of the outlet pipe 1 by an amount corresponding to the average length of the neck of a common bottle.
If the outlet pipe 1 is attached to a bottle by means of its stopper 2, the air supply pipe 5 protrudes through the bottle neck into the interior of the bottle. When refilling the accumulator, make sure that the lowest edge of the outlet pipe 1 rests on the electrodes (lead plates). The water now runs through the tube 1 and the recess 4 in a continuous flow into the accumulator, while at the same time through the recess 4 and the air supply pipe the air that allows emptying can rise into the bottle.
If the level of the accumulator fluid (dilute sulfuric acid) has risen to the upper edge of the recess 4 of the tube 1 resting on the electrodes, the air admission is interrupted so that no more water can flow out of the bottle. This prevents the accumulators from overflowing when refilling them with water. The device described can also be used when filling other objects with liquids.
