Homogenization system for powdery material. The present invention relates to a system for treating powdery material by means of compressed air for the purpose of homogenizing the material. In such systems, which include systems from Si los and containers, the material is often fed from the homogenization containers to the Si los by means of a screw conveyor and bucket mechanism. However, such Fördereinrichtun conditions are very expensive, which is why the homogenization containers have sometimes been placed above the silos in order to be able to load the silos by allowing the goods to flow freely under the influence of gravity.
The homogenization containers are, however, large and heavy, so that this means of avoiding the need to procure a useful conveying device cannot always be used.
The system according to the present invention is designed in such a way that it has at least one homogenization container: which is provided with a device which enables compressed air to be introduced into the container during the homogenization of the goods, and with a device to close the container to the outside, in such a way that. The material can be driven out of the container by compressed air after its homogenization.
The advantage of using compressed air as a conveyor in a system of the type mentioned is that during. the homogenization the material reaches a state in which it flows like a liquid, so that it is particularly suitable for conveying by compressed air, for which only a low pressure is necessary.
In a device according to the invention, the homogenization container or the plurality of such containers form part of a compressed air conveying system in which there is no risk of the goods becoming stuck in it, as is the case with devices in which the goods are transported by means of a mechanical conveying device of the homogenization system after a closed container, from which compressed air is conveyed to its destination by means of a pipeline.
It is generally necessary to increase the air pressure during the emptying of the homogenization container and the transfer of the homogenized material into a storage container. The conveying air can be introduced through a pipe system who is different from that which is used for supplying the homogenizing air; but it seems more appropriate to provide a single pipe system for both purposes and to provide a device for regulating the pressure with which the air is introduced through the pipe system into the container.
A homogenization system according to the invention is exemplarily and schematically illustrated in the drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows a schematic view of the system with two silos, while FIG. 2 shows, on a larger scale, a homogenizing conveyor container as it is with the system Fig. 1 can be used, for example, shows in a vertical section.
The system contains a homogenization container 1. From this homogenization container, a pipe 2 leads to the silos 3, in which the material homogenized in the container 1 is stored.
The container 1 is provided with an upright, rotatable shaft 4 which carries radial stirring arms 5 and is driven by a suitable gear 6 by means of a motor not shown in the drawing. Compressed air is introduced into the container by means of a pipe 7 to which nozzles 8 are connected. The aim of introducing the compressed air is to cancel or at least reduce the friction between the good particles and in this way to enable thorough mechanical mixing of the good.
The material to be homogenized is fed to the container 1 by means of a screw conveyor 9 through an inlet nozzle 10, while the compressed air, which acts on glass material during the homogenization, escapes through an outlet 11. The openings 10, 11 are respectively through valves 12. 13 controlled, which respectively by piston 14. 15 are actuated, which move in cylinders because of which compressed air can be supplied.
The valves 12, 13 can work automatically, for which purpose, for example, a time relay can be provided which monitors the supply of compressed air to the cylinders containing the pistons 14 and 15. The air escaping through the openings 11 reaches a filter 16, which frees this air from dust that it has carried with it from the container 1.
The free surface of the goods contained in the container 1. Influences a float 17, which is arranged in such a way that it controls the movement of the screw conveyor or the motor that drives it. controls not shown in the drawing lever linkage depending on the material level. The lever linkage can also operate a slide between the screw conveyor and the filling funnel.
The pipe 2 for discharging material from the container 1 extends from the bottom of the container and is provided with a valve 18 which prevents the material from entering the container during the homogenization process. leaves.
When the material in the container 1 has become homogeneous, the valves 12, 13 are closed and air is introduced into the container through the nozzles 8 at a pressure which is higher than the one before air used for the homogenization process.
To allow regulation of the pressure of the air to be introduced into the container, a throttle valve can be provided in the pipe emanating from the Luftkom compressor or some other source of compressed air, which is opened wider for the goods than for the homogenization of the goods. The compressed air presses the homogenized material into the pipe 2, this material behaving like a liquid.
The removal of material from the container 1 through the pipe 2 is supported by an air ejector 19 which is connected to the Druekluftleitung 7 by means of a pipe res 20 with valve 21 provided in this. If desired, the valve 21 can be controlled automatically, in such a way that when the pressure in the container rises to a certain level as a result of the blockage of the material outlet, the valve 21 opens and thereby allows air to enter the ejector, while the The valve is usually kept closed by a spring until the pressure in the pipe has reached a certain level.
If the flowability of the material in the container is insufficient, for example because not enough homogenizing air is supplied and if the material in the container consequently settles as a dense mass, then the container can be opened in a suitable manner, for example by introducing compressed air above the free Surface of the filling, as well as at the bottom of the container near the material outlet, for which purpose nozzles and pipe connections can be provided.
