Description
Viewfinders for photographic apparatus. The invention relates to a viewfinder for pliotographic apparatus, namely one with a rectangular aperture, which is known to serve to determine the field of view of the viewfinder, depending on the focal length of the lens used, i.e. depending on the recording field of the photographic apparatus adjust.
The viewfinder according to the invention is characterized by a rotatable ring for adjusting the aperture, which ring is held in place against unintentional adjustments by engaging a locking member in a division in the various uses.
The drawing shows an example embodiment of the subject invention; FIG. 1 is a side view, FIG. 2 is a view from below and FIG. 3 is a view of the diaphragm.
The latter consists of two thin metal plates 1, 2, which can be displaced in the direction of a diameter of the viewfinder and which are cut out at right angles and which delimit the rectangular aperture 9 with their cut-out portions. Each plate is provided with a pin 3, which is guided in übli cher way through a spiral groove 4 of a rotatable member of the viewfinder.
This rotatable member is ring-shaped and denoted by 5 in FIGS. The water ring 5 is located between the Oku lar 6 and the lens 7 of the viewfinder, the sen housing has two feet 8, whereby it can be set on .den photographic apparatus.
By turning: the ring 5 is the rectangular, in a borderline quadra tables opening 9 of the aperture changed according to the recording field of the apparatus. To hold the ring in the position set, the viewfinder housing is provided with a locking member 10 which engages in divisions 11 of the ring 5 as a result of its suspension. These divisions are preferably attached in such a way that, for a particular apparatus, each of them sets the field of view of the viewfinder for a given focal length of the apparatus lens.
Of course, you could also attach the divisions to the viewfinder housing, where the locking element would then rotate with the ring.
