Description
Profiled iron beam. This invention relates to a profiled iron bin for various applications and more especially for the construction of ceilings. The profile chosen is preferably a profile to I to wide soles, that is to say whose soles have a width substantially equal to to < / B> the height of I. Its novelty lies in that the core of the I is thinner than in the normal profile and furnished with protruding ribs intended to keep to the soul its qualities of resistance and to create points of adhesion for concrete or mortar.
The appended drawing represents, by by way of example, a profile and several side views of different embodiments of the beam.
It will be noted that the beams have a united I shape, the flanges 1 are sharp-angled plates to which the middle web 2 is connected by rounded 2 ' pronounced .
The thickness of the core 2 compared to that of ordinary profiles is significantly reduced. In compensation, the flanks of the core are lined with projecting ribs 4 which, in fig. 2 form either the adjacent diamonds touching each other by a corner, or zig-zag lines. In fig. 3 horizontal rungs 4 'additionally extend alternately up and down between the sides of the diamonds.
In fig. 4, vertical ribs 4 "are arranged on the sides of the core at equal distances and between two consecutive ribs extend networks of two ribs 4 arranged diagonally.
The projecting ribs can also be arranged in such a way to form graphic signs (numbers, letters, etc.) intended to indicate either the caliber of the joist or the origin, etc. In any case, it is advisable to place them so that they provide to the web of the joist a maximum resistance against all the forces that it will have to </ B > support whatever their direction.
