Automatic cord storage reel. There: a large number of devices for automatically rolling up the connecting cables of power consumers such as irons, fans, etc., telephone cords, etc. have already been proposed. However, none of these facilities could be introduced because they were either too heavy or too big, or required changes to the existing equipment, or were too cumbersome to attach to the cable.
Another disadvantage was that the individual cable windings were distributed irregularly on the cable reel, the cable therefore easily jammed and the space requirement by the cable became too great.
The subject matter of the present invention is an automatic cable cord storage roll which no longer has these disadvantages. According to the invention, the cable tendon storage roll has three coaxial and parallel disks, of which the middle one is provided with an incision for inserting the cable, a spring housed in a hollow hub and on the edge:
The pulleys are provided with rollers for guiding the cable ends to be inserted into the grooves formed between the pulleys and the hub under the tension of the tensioned spring.
In the accompanying drawing, three embodiments of the invention are shown, for example, FIG. 1 shows the cable reel attached schematically to a cable cord of a desk telephone apparatus, FIGS. 2 to 4 in a side view partially in section, in cross section and in plan view, a first Embodiment of a self-acting cable cord storage reel, Fig. 5 and 6 on a smaller scale in a side view, partially in section and in a cross section, the second embodiment of a cable reel,
and FIGS. 7 and 8, also on a smaller scale and in side view and cross section, the third embodiment of the cable wire storage roller.
The cable cord storage reel shown in Fig. 2, 3 and 4 of the drawing has three disks 1, 2 and 3, of which the two outer 1 and -3 are rigidly connected to each other and to the by a shaft 4 with threaded pins 5 and nuts 6 attached to both ends Shaft 4 are connected. On ring shaped. Bead 7 of the side disks 1 and 3 is the middle with a cylindrical hollow hub 8 provided, disk 2, by means of this hub 8 on balls' 9 easily rotatable.
The storage could also take place without balls. Inside .der the hollow hub 8, a coil spring 10 is now arranged, one end of which is on the shaft. 4 and the other end of which is attached to the hub 8. Tabs 11 of the iScheibe 1 are used to fix the axes of easily rotatable guide rollers 12 respectively. 13 for .the cable cord 14 to be inserted into the grooves between the disks. The middle disk 2 is provided with an incision 15 extending up to its hub 8.
For use: the cable cord storage roll is grasped at the disks 1 and 3 and the middle disk 2 is rotated under tension of the spring 10 until the latter is tensioned.
Then the cable cord, without having to be detached from its connection points for this purpose, is put together in a V-shape in the middle and the flexible point is inserted into the slot 15. When the disk 2 is released, the cable 14 now automatically winds up onto the cable reel, releasing the spring 10. The two halves of the cable cord, from the Biegungs.stelle the same on are in spiral windings one above the other, in .den two grooves formed between the Seheiben 1, 2 and the hub 8.
The material of the roller and in particular of the disks and the hub is selected so that their weight is as low as possible. The disk and hub are advantageously made of ebonite, galalith, bakelite or an artificial mass. Wave 4 and great 12 resp. 13 consist, for example, of light metal; but the rollers could also be made of a plastic.
In the embodiment of the cable cord storage roll shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the shaft 16 is firmly connected to the outer disk 1. The disks 2 and 3 form one piece with the hollow hub 17, which is rotatably mounted on the shaft 1, 6 and a shoulder 18 of the disk 1. Between the shaft 16 and the hub 17, a spiral spring 10 is attached as in the embodiment described above, while the middle disc, the slot 15 and the disc 1 tab 11 with the guide rollers 12 and 13 has. The operation of the cable line storage reel is essentially the same as described in relation to FIGS. 2-4 ben.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 7 and 8, the three disks 1, 2 and 3 are firmly connected to each other or. form one piece together with the hollow hub 18. The axle 19, on which the disks 1 to 3 with the hub 18 are rotatable, carries at one end a cross member 20 with the cable guide rollers protruding over the circumference of the disks 12 resp. 13.
Between the axis 19 and the hub 18 there is again a spiral spring 10 which, under tension, strives to rotate the cross member 20 with the guide rollers 12, 13 relative to the disks 1 to 3. The middle disc 2 in turn has the slot 15 for a lay of the cable.
In terms of use, this last-described embodiment also works exactly as the first two mentioned.
It is essential in all designs that the weight of the cable cord storage roll remains as low as possible. Light metal or synthetic material with a small specific weight is therefore used for their manufacture. Advantageously, the role consists mainly of synthetic material such as Bakelite, hard rubber, etc. If necessary, balls can be inserted between the rotating parts.
The tension of the spring is to be measured in such a way that rolling up is guaranteed in any case, without, however, an annoying pull being noticeable during use, i.e. when the cable is unrolled. The tensioning of the spring could also take place independently of the rotation of the moving parts by means of a ratchet wheel with a pawl that is switched on between the axle and the hub.
In the case of long connecting cables (for example cables for irons), the cable roll could also be provided with devices for hanging the same, in order to cancel out the effect of the weight of the roll.
With an appropriate dimensioning of the friction of the mutually rotating 'file representing the cable reel, the same can also be used with pull lamps and used in their cables in a number of ways.
